The hotel is set on a cliff and occupies half of a small sandy cove, alongside Ngala Lodge Hotel. There is a good swimming pool, which is kept very clean, with sun beds on a terrace that overlooks the sea. Steps lead down to the beach. Rooms are large and all have sea views and large outside terraces with seats and tables for sea or star watching. Beds are king sized, TVs are large (BBC News available) and there the air conditioning is effective. There is also a fridge with water and a kettle for making hot drinks. Breakfasts were plentiful with a choice of continental, American or Gambian options (be aware that the Gambian option surprisingly includes pork unless you ask for it to be left off). We were initially disappointed by the bread (toasted sliced) but the next day we were given baguette when we pointed out that we would prefer this. We ate fish for dinner which was well cooked, plentiful and served with tasty accompaniments. Some of the wood work is looking rather tired despite the hotel being a relatively new hotel. Hopefully, staff can find a way to help preserve it against the elements. Sone sections were being improved while we were there. Staff were helpful and friendly, especially the lovely female security guard on the gate who gave us a warm welcome whenever we came back from a trip or walk.
