This used to be our favorite summer spot. We'd return at least once a year, for perhaps 4-5 years in a row. However, we hadn't been back for quite a long time. This is what I learned on our most recent visit: The hotel room (I think we had a ”Hollywood Standard Twin) was quite spacious. The beds were large and comfortable, and there is a nice-sized balcony with a generous ocean view. I see some other reviews on Tripadvisor calling the rooms ”old and smelly” -- this has never, ever been my experience, not once. The room seemed exactly as it was over 10 years ago, but that's fine. The colors are soft, muted ”beach” colors and we were very comfortable. On our first night we ate at the ”Melesea” restaurant, which serves French cuisine. We chose the ”Demi portion” course, which was about 9,000 yen (about $62USD with today's exchange rate). We chose it because it wasn't as high priced as some of the other course meals and the portion sizes sounded right for us. There is no question that the ”Demi portion” course was one of the best I've ever had in my life. The chef (Mr. Ohki) is obviously a professional who really understands how to bring out the delicate flavors of any dish, and he is a master at preparing sauces. Everything that was served was outstanding. No, we didn't want to pay that much money per person, but ultimately we made the right choice. We both were extremely impressed. The above two things, plus generally good weather, added up to a good experience. Here, though, are things that you should be aware of: This is essentially a family hotel. That means if you are coming here for peace and quiet, and you make the mistake of coming on a weekend or a national holiday, you can expect lots of screaming children running with abandon down the hallways and fussing in the restaurants and everywhere else. Japanese parents tend to indulge and spoil their little ones. And forget about using the pool, since that's where parents will be staked out the first thing in the morning. If you are a parent, you might find this to be the perfect hotel. If you aren't, and you do not enjoy the boundless energy and noise of children, you will be sorry you booked a room here. So, think carefully about the dates you arrive and leave. As for prices: Although you can get a ”Tokyu Hotel” member card, and although you can find online promotions, the way the hotel makes its money is through its dinners. You are going to pay a lot for them, although there is effort put into them, so, you do feel you are having an ”experience.” But they do not come cheaply. Also, if you don't book your room with breakfast, expect to pay ¥2900 for a ”buffet breakfast.” If you are Japanese, you will love this breakfast; if not, you will find an adequate selection of items for a Western breakfast. But what if you want to go ”out to eat” at night, instead of paying between 10-20,000 yen for a meal? Good luck. Unless you have your own car (and I'd say about 90% of the customers

This 4-star ryokan is 0.9 mi (1.4 km) from Kawazu-cho Tourism Exchange Center and 1 mi (1.5 km) from Kinomiya Shrine. Treat yourself with massages, body treatments, and facials. Enjoy Japanese cuisine at Rokkan, a restaurant which features a bar/lounge and a garden view. You can also stay in and take advantage of the room service (during limited hours). The property has amazing ocean views high on an outcropping, but none of the rooms with an ocean view have a balcony, except the very edge of the east wing. Wonderful gardens with a path lading down to a small beach that isn't too noteworthy. The rooms have been updated since the construction and are pretty good overall. The pool was closed in June, which was pretty disappointing, especially as the beach is below par. The onsen facilities met expectation. The beds are firm, which I loved, but not everyone likes a firm mattress. The hotel operates a bus service to pick up guests from the train station twice an hour from 9-5pm. If you are doing dinner out in the town or drinks in the evening, you have to grab a taxi back as the walk is a bit of a hike. The hotel staff are very friendly and kind, the concierge knows the area and has great recommendation for activities...wonderful and friendly people. The hotel restaurant serves a nice mostly Japanese breakfast (as expected) with local delicacies, wide range of teas, coffee and juice as well as a great selection of breads and fresh fruit. The hotel restaurant for dinner is average. Our group ordered a range of items off the menu and no one was terribly impressed. The lone stand out was the French Onion soup, packed with flavor, though a bit light on the cheese. Would stay here again if the price was right, was able to get rooms at a discount on this stay as it was rainy season.

河津町のわずかに山間にたたずむホテル．駐車場に着くとホテルのスタッフが出迎えてくれました．チェックインでウェルカムドリンクをいただきながら，貸し借り温泉の予約や，河津桜のライトアップ送迎の予約を済ませ，客室に案内されました．館内や敷地内は階段が多く，飼い主もワンコも足腰が弱いと厳しいかもしれません． ドックランが充実しており，我が家の二匹のワンコたちは大満足のようでした．ドックスパは予約できないので，譲り合いながらの利用となります．ワンコたちは初めての温泉に戸惑っているようでしたが，屋外のドックランで遊んだ後のお風呂できれいにすることができました．客室にもワンコグッズがそろっています． 河津桜のライトアップと夕食をとるレストランへはスタッフの運転で送迎してもらえます．レストランの食事はとても工夫されておりおいしかったです．ワンコのためにペットカートを貸してもらえました．また，ワンコ用の食事も用意してもらえ，一緒にいただくことができます． 貸切露天風呂は開放感満点で天気にも恵まれ最高でした．洗い場が一つしかないのは残念ですが，利用時間は50分と十分でした．ただ，屋内の温泉（湯楽）は温度が高すぎ，調節もできなかったのでつかることができなかったのは残念でした． 朝食もワンコたちと一緒にとることができます．ワンコ用のヨーグルトも用意されていました． ワンコ同伴で楽しめる施設はまだまだ多くありませんが，このホテルではワンコたちと一緒にいることをごく当たり前のように扱ってもらえます．飼い主はもちろんペットも満足できるホテルだと思います．

Hotel Izukyu terletak di lokasi yang sangat baik, betul-betul di Pantai Shirahama, tidak jauh dari Bandar Shimoda, yang dianggap berada di antara Izu selatan dan Izu utara. Lokasinya tidak jauh. Best time ever while i stay in Japanese-style Room with open-air Bath (No.608) which i booked via Japanican.com. Shuttle service, staff, amenities, room and food was really great. Impressive outdoor onsen in room with sea view, huge and delicious breakfast and dinner with service from Obachan made me feel like going back home and having meal made by mom.

Shimokamo Onsen Onsen Minshuku Minami Izu is located in Minamiizu and about 15 minutes by car from Shimoda Station, near Shimogamo Onsen and Yumigahama Onsen. Yukata are available for guests to wear during their stay. Facilities include an open-air bath. The hotel possesses 6 guest rooms.

やはりコチラのホテルは素晴らしかった！ クラシックな建物を丁寧に手入れされていてスタッフ、お部屋、景色、大浴場の温泉、お風呂からの眺め(早朝からサンライズを見ながら入れますよ)、海鮮物が充実の朝食が美味しい。 どれをとっても言うこと無しでした。 久しぶりに伊豆に行って、のんびり温泉や部屋からの海を眺めながらの滞在。良い旅になりました！ 冬にさしかかっていた事もあり、子供連れは少なくて落ちいた大人ばかりなので館内はわりと静かでした。電車利用の方も多く、タクシーの手配やホテルのシャトルバスの予約をお願いしている方が意外と多くおみかけしました。 チェックインの時間が重なる3時から夕方までの時間は混雑しているので、少し時間をずらして行くと待つ事なくスムーズにチェックインできます。高齢の方はソファーに座ってスタッフから全国旅行支援の説明を聞かれてる方もいらしたら様子。 オーシャンビューの全面ガラス張りのお部屋と大浴場は文句のつけようが無い！！
