Wir haben seit 2017 fünf mal unsere Ferien im Peninsula Koh Chang verbracht. Wir sind immer sehr begeistert gewesen. Der Besitzer hat die Bungalow mit Herzblut sehr schön gebaut, mit bester Lage, ruhig gelegen direkt am Strand. Doch leider mussten wir dieses Jahr feststellen, dass die Qualität verschlechtert ist. Vom nachbarigen Royal Siam View Resort kamen täglich viele Gäste, welche Ihre Liegebetten direkt vor den 9 Bungalows des Koh Chang Peninsula platzierten, dort beinahe den ganzen Tag verweilten. Um nun ins Meer zu kommen, musste man sich zwischen den Liegebetten durchzwängen. Zusätzlich fühlte man sich zeitweise wie an einer Promenade, andauernd liefen Gäste vom anderen Resort bei den Peninsula Bungalows durch, starrten in die Zimmer, etc. Man fühlt sich richtig belästigt. Zusätzlich mussten wir feststellen, dass der schöne helle Sand immer mehr mit groben Steinen versehen ist. Es ist wirklich sehr schade zu sehen, wie das Koh Chang Peninsula vernachlässigt wird. Wir werden wahrscheinlich nicht mehr unsere Ferien dort verbringen.

Этот отель невероятно прекрасный - красивая природа, удобство и комфорт, уединение. Чтобы полностью почувствовать атмосферу, лучше всего взять большой номер Deluxe с панорамным окном в пол и балконом. Вид на горы и реку потрясающий, особенно на закате. Мы прожили здесь 12 дней и уезжать не хотелось, и конечно, хочется обязательно вернуться. - Еда - самые красивые завтраки в моей жизни, когда твоего столика почти касаются прозрачные волны утреннего прибоя. Ну и конечно очень вкусные! Есть яичница и омлет, несколько видов мюсли и хлопьев, два вида хлеба, оладушки, йогурт, арбузы, папайя, ананасы, два мясных блюда с овощами (чаще курица и свинина, иногда говядина), блюдо из картофеля, два вида риса, лапша, горячий бекон и колбаса, холодный сыр и колбаса, два вида супа, свежие овощи - черри, огурцы, перец болгарский, листья салата, оливки. И конечно вкусный кофе из машины! Так же есть счастливый час с 16 до 18, когда можно купить два коктейля по цене одного и наслаждаться закатом. Ужины тоже очень вкусные (цена высокая, как и на всем острове у моря, если хочется дешевле в два раза - есть куча мест у обочины дороги) - Территория очень большая и в сравнении с остальным островом очень ухоженная, особенно в районе пляжа с виллами. Без проблем возят по ней и в магазин на машинках отеля, ждать особо не приходится, но лучше взять байк и самому кататься по всему острову. - Номер Deluxe очень красивый и стильный, мебель довольно новая, но в некоторых местах уже испорчена неаккуратными людьми. Огромный сан узел, очень удобный. Кровать мягкая и удобная. - Уборка и смена полотенец каждый день. Смена постели раз в несколько дней. Пастельное белье очень приятно пахнет. - Вода - 2 бутылки по 0,5 л на номер. Этого не хватает на суточную норму потребления и надо докупать свою воду. Но так как в магазин возит транспорт отеля, это не проблема. - Интернет - для работы слабоватый и часто обрывается. Для отдыха - вообще не нужен. Здесь хочется наслаждаться природой и морем. - Пляжи - есть несколько в пешей доступности. Их глубина зависит от прилива, лучше посмотреть график приливов. А красота зависит от направления ветра. В штиль очень красивая и чистая водичка на всех близлежащих пляжах. Но самый красивый пляж Long Beach в восточной части острова, из отеля ехать до него около 1 часа на байке. И лучше с утра, народу до 10 утра там практически нет.

We had family visiting Thailand for the first time, and we stayed at both the Koh Chang Paradise Hill Resort and the sister resort Koh Chang Paradise Resort across the street. If you want to read about my awful experience at the sister resort, Koh Chang Paradise, you can read my other review. Our stay at the Koh Chang Paradise Hill Resort was fun and relaxing. My kids enjoyed the waterpark and the beach. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Two thumbs up for the staff! The only negative experience I had with a staff member was at breakfast one morning. I had sprained my ankle right before our beach holiday and was hobbling around at breakfast filling up my personal mug with tea because the provided cups were really small and I didn’t want to have to get up multiple times to refill the small cup. A chef got angry at me and told me to not use my personal mug. He raised his voice at me and told me unkindly to not do what I was doing. I explained to him that I had hurt my ankle and did not want to get up multiple times to get more tea. I don’t think he really listened to me because he kept talking to me with an angry voice about not using my cup. Thankfully all the other staff at breakfast have been great. The lifeguards at the pool were great. One of the kids in our group slipped and cut her foot, and they cared for her with proper first aid. I appreciated their professional approach! Cleaning ladies were cheerful and smiled a lot.
Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway

Traveling to Koh Chang on Songkran Day, if the Accor Group uses benefits, it must be considered. Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway booked a Standard room but was upgraded to a Deluxe Seaview room and received Platinum benefits. Quite complete. The room is okay. I like it because I have to pay only 1,402 baht per night. The room is full due to a long holiday. I'm glad I upgraded. I have reserved 3 rooms, there are welcome drinks for all 3 rooms. For dinner, most of the guests leave their stomachs at the Buffet Hotel because it is Songkran Festival. Accor Plus cannot use the discount at all. The price is not expensive, only 530 baht per person, but.. Phra Chuay Thai food is delicious. Anyone staying here recommends trying Thai food. The happy hour here is satisfyingly long from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone who eats the buffet will receive a buy 1 free 1 promotion until 10:00 p.m., very worthwhile. The highlight of this place is a lot of photo angles, and taking beautiful photos, but the beach is not okay, which is a weak point. The sea water is hardly played because there are a lot of rocks. I mostly stay at the swimming pool 100% recommend if anyone sleeps here to relax and snorkel on the last day, come back to swim at the pool, take chic photos and eat buffet 🙂 Breakfast is quite suitable for Thai people, focusing on spicy Thai food. It also has my favorite pizza. The hotel has a Starbucks on the beach but does not participate in a star or membership program. For me, April 13-15 is a rest day. I'm pretty happy here. Let's just say for Accor members or group members. If anyone comes to Koh Chang, recommend here. You can get both nights and points. If there is any problem during your stay, I suggest you don't wait, hurry and share with him. He knows the problem and is ready to take care of it immediately. Come to Koh Chang next time, Mercure is still our choice.

First let me say that these are our opinions and each person has something that is important to them and not to others. This was our experience. We flew into Bangkok airport as we had an event to attend in Pattaya than went back to Bangkok before heading to the resort. It was less expensive for us to hire a private driver to take us to the resort on Koh Chang than it was to fly. We found out that there was a air ***** on Koh Chang but they can charge whatever they want as there is only one airline that goes there. So we opted to drive, a 6 hour journey, which included a ferry ride over to the island and taken directly to the resort. Our thought was we could sleep and see the landscape on the way. It really wasn't bad there and back. So thankful that we didn't have to deal with a taxi once we were on the island. In the beginning when getting onto the island we were on a normal road, but that change to a very narrow, winding and steep road which turned into a one lane road, then to a gravel road and finally a dusty bumpy road. So don't worry, you are headed in the right direction. I have to say when we first drove up to the resort, I was a little hesitant. This is a small resort. The reception area is wide open (no walls) area with wooden benches with a few throw pillows here and there. The one reception person was kind and friendly, but the other not so much. I would say this was the only unfriendly person we met the entire time at the resort and she was only there for a few days and then was gone. We arrive around noon and were told check in wasn't until 3, I believe, but we did get into our room earlier then they said which was nice after a 6 hour drive. The room was old and tired but spacious. There are maybe a dozen little buildings that had one room up and one room down. I heard there were a few rooms that had two bedrooms for families. We were in a back building on the top floor. The windows on the back of the room lookout onto the area they lay all their debris. Wasn't a nice thing to look at that is for sure. We just kept the blinds closed. When you walked up the steps there as a balcony area with a sliding glass door, but also had a normal door to enter as well. The balcony area had a bench seat along the one area to sit and one chair was provided along with a laundry rack. Some of the wood on the balcony needs replaced as it looked like it was rotten. We also asked for another chair to sit on and was told it was being repaired. Some of the other buildings had chairs and loungers along with big pillows for their bench (these were all the buildings in the front). It would have been nice to have another chair so we could have sat outside like others. Inside the building, there as a king size bed, desk area (which also had a large mirror with a hair dryer (in the desk drawer) as this is where you had to dry your hair as there was no plug in the bathroom, a kettle that made hot water, a wardrobe cabinet, a single bed type thing, I guess

We have stayed at Koh Chang Paradise Resort several times and have loved our visit every time except this last time. My in-laws came from the USA for their first ever visit to Thailand, so we chose the Koh Chang Paradise Resort with full confidence that they would enjoy their dream beach vacation with excellent “Thai hospitality.” The guest relations employee, Alex, who has worked at this resort for over 7 years handled our check-in process at the Koh Chang Paradise Resort. His behavior towards us is the reason why we will never stay here again. The resort double-booked the beachfront room we had reserved for my visiting in-laws, but they didn’t tell us that. Instead, Alex said they would upgrade my in-laws to a brand new beachfront room for the last three nights of our stay. These rooms were literally still under construction when we arrived. The room was not ready the morning of the move, so my in-laws told the front desk before breakfast that they would rather stay in the room they already were using. The front desk agreed, so my in-laws went to breakfast. After breakfast Alex found my in-laws and assured them that the new room would be ready by the supposed move time later that same day at noon, but my relatives have young children and were afraid that if something wasn’t constructed quite right or if there were any construction materials left by accident that someone would get hurt. Also, my in-laws were heading out shortly for an elephant experience, so they would not be present at the hotel at noon when the move was supposedly happening. My in-laws politely declined the move, but Alex escalated the situation by raising his voice and forcefully trying to intimidate my in-laws to acquiesce to his will. This is entirely inappropriate! No one should ever talk to a guest in this way, ever! My in-laws needed to leave for the excursion, so I stepped in and had to interact with Alex. I am disappointed with how Alex managed himself. We have rights as guests, and he raised his voice at me and tried to intimidate me into saying that my in-laws would move. He told us that the guests who were arriving always came every year and booked the same room that my in-laws were using. It’s not our fault that the room got double-booked. In fact, why did Alex even give us the room knowing that this double booking could be a problem? Completely the resort’s fault and not ours. I’m disappointed that Alex tried to blame his mistake on us. We as hotel guests who were given that room had just as much right to stay there as these incoming guests. Alex made us feel like we were insignificant and had no right to stay in the room in his attempt to intimidate us into moving so that the “VIP” guests could have the room. It was the resort’s fault, and Alex made us feel terrible with his forceful yelling. We felt belittled. As Alex was yelling at me and being extremely pushy, I could tell that the Thai staff who were watching the whole situation felt embarrassed about how
