Room is big but worn out. Towels and bedsheet has got an unpleasant smell even though it’s changed. Location is good if you don’t mind the noise from the Regatta (Happen to be there at the weekend). Do note that there’s road closure during these period and grab cannot pick up/drop off in front of the hotel.  Staff are friendly and helpful. It’s ok to miss breakfast. But some inconsistency, they did not ask for deposit from us unlike other review where they ask for deposit in cash/card.  Don’t bother to order anything from the restaurant/bar. I order the least possible to screw up drink aka hot tea and it comes lukewarm diluted in less than half a disposable cup. Didn’t asked for takeaway.  Overall, with the same price, just go to an international chain hotel.

They arrange a quite room for me as per requested. Appreciate it! The room was nice and cozy, amenities provided, just the linen and towels in the room a bit old.

Great location. Access to a lot of places. Kuching Esplanade is just in front of the hotel. You can find nice food on foot. It is just that most shops close very early Friendly staff as they will smile whenever you walk past them. Choose the river view if you want to have a nice view like mine but this means that it will be noisy at times, especially at night. The only bad thing about my room is the toilet flashing system is not strong. Breakfast was ok but very simple. It will be good if they can provide buffet style.

Extremely friendly staff. Took the extra mile to help us source for places of interest and food we wanted to try. The team always serves with a smile. Well done, All. We will return.

perfect location exactly in middle of Kuching City, near to the famous Kuching Waterfront. Crew is wonderfull, polite and always there for help. Security also great specially during night time only guest with key can enter the hotel. good joh.

The room is spacious but the bathtub is missing the stopper for room 105. Had requested the staff to fix it but no action taken

Hotel kecil di tepi sungai di pusat bersejarah Kuching yang cantik. Terletak dengan ideal, bilik yang sangat bersih, besar, perkhidmatan ok, tiada apa yang perlu dirungut dan jelas pilihan yang lebih baik daripada Pullman dan Hilton yang lebih jauh. Sebaliknya, berhati-hati, mereka mempunyai jurugambar yang sangat baik! Hotel ini sememangnya dilengkapi dengan baik tetapi ia sebenarnya lebih sejuk daripada yang kelihatan di laman web, dan tiada apa-apa "butik" tentang pedalaman. Tetapi untuk Kuching ia adalah pilihan terbaik. Dan luangkan masa di jalan-jalan kecil atau di Taman Bako!

Malam pertama mereka meletakkan kami di dalam bilik tanpa tingkap di tingkat bawah yang menghadap ke sebahagian daripada hotel, yang mereka panggil taman tetapi ia ditutup. Saya membayar lebih 60 euro dan mereka memberi saya suite di tingkat atas untuk malam kedua, sungguh luas! Lokasi Ranee yang dihias menarik, terbaik! Sarapan pagi: anda boleh memilih hidangan a la carte yang baik. Sarapan pagi dilengkapkan dengan bufet malangnya buruk, jus oren serbuk. Buah tidak wujud, hanya pisang, orang miskin!

Hotel terletak sangat baik berhampiran sungai, pemandangan indah dari bilik. Tempat tidur yang sangat selesa. Hanya satu kelemahan, yang agak merosakkan kesenangan kami: kakitangan secara keseluruhan dan terutamanya pengurus hotel. Malah, semasa pembersihan, pekerja mengambil pakaian dengan tuala. Kami meminta mereka untuk memeriksa stok linen mereka jika pakaian itu secara tidak sengaja berada di antara tuala. Terkejut kami, pengurus itu segera menghubungi polis, mendakwa bahawa perkara ini tidak mungkin berlaku dalam penubuhannya dan kami pasti berbohong. Saya fikir saya bermimpi...pekerja mendakwa bahawa ia adalah mustahil dan ia tidak bermakna kepada mereka, tanpa sebarang pengesahan terlebih dahulu. Polis tiba, saya memberitahu orang yang bertanggungjawab bahawa kita akan meninggalkannya di sana, ia sama sekali tidak seimbang. Saya disoal siasat oleh polis di lobi hotel dan seolah-olah dengan sihir, salah seorang pekerja tiba dengan pakaian yang hilang dalam pelukannya. Dia memberikannya kepada saya tanpa sebarang permintaan maaf dan membenarkan dirinya...pendek kata, nyata. Pengurus juga tidak memohon maaf atas kesulitan yang berlaku. Tiada isyarat komersial sudah tentu, tiada cadangan...tiada!! Saya telah mengembara ke sekitar empat puluh negara dan secara semula jadi saya sangat bertolak ansur, tetapi ketidakjujuran dan rasa hormat telah mendorong saya ke had dan saya lebih suka memberi amaran kepada pelanggan masa depan tentang apa yang menanti mereka sekiranya berlaku masalah dengan pekerja atau pengurus. Adakah saya akhirnya berhak untuk meminta maaf selepas mesej ini? Di antara kita, saya menginginkannya tetapi saya ragu-ragu...

This is a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and wonderful decoration and ambiance. My first visit to Sarawak was made even more memorable by staying at The Ranee. Very, Very good location indeed. so easy and convenient to explore Kuching from here. But what made the stay most memorable were the staff at the hotel. Joseph, Yvonne, Dee and the rest were really wonderful and caring and helpful. Congratulations to the entire team! See you again soon. When you visit Kuching, make this the place to stay

A fine hotel, centrally located, with a range of room types. It is now our preferred hotel for Kuching, (third time stayer). Breakfast is a little basic, but hot food available. No lunch or dinner though, but the bar is open from lunchtime to 2200. There is a vegan smoothie bar off the lobby that also does a full range of coffees with plant based milk, and some fruit based dishes that would keep a fruitarian happy. Staff appear happy and were attentive and accommodating.

Vegan food, vegan food, vegan food! Before we got to Kuching we searched the Internet for recommendations before arriving but the Ranee didn't show. What an omission! Easily the vegan go to place in Kuching. Check out the menu. In 4 nights we couldn't try ALL of the main courses. The ones we did try were all excellent. I couldn't give them a better validation. If you're a vegan wanting to find great food look no further. And the people couldnt be more attentive or accommodating. Oh... and did I mention the cocktails???

Not a great start as on arrival they did not have our booking. Fortunately the room we had booked and paid for was available so we were checked in. The trip to Borneo was booked through Audley Travel. Contacted them and they confirmed we would not be charged on departure. The hotel's reason for the mistake was that they had moved to a new booking system and our booking had not been transferred. We eventually got a bottle of wine and a hand written note from the hotel but not until our final night of our 3 night stay. Another unusual thing was we had to pay 200 ringgit security deposit which we got back when we checked out, as we paid cash. If you pay by credit card it will take around 7 days before it is refunded. We stayed in the Valerie suite and the room was mostly very good. Safe and wifi worked fine, bathroom was nice and spacious and everything was very clean. We did not have any problem with noise but our room faced the back of the hotel rather than the road in front of the hotel. Please note there are additional stairs up to the room so not the best if you have reduced mobility. There is a balcony but view is not great and the gap from the room to get out to the balcony is around 1 metre high. The major plus for the hotel is location as you are in the heart of the waterfront. Everything you want to see is easy walking distance. Breakfast was simple but worked fine for us. The website shows that they have a cafe and bar. The cafe is still not open but the bar is now open in the evenings for cocktails although I did not see anyone using it. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel.
