Ibis Styles Kyoto Shijo

Very comfortable room and bed, and great bathroom! It had a lot of plugs so it was easy to charge everything. I didn't have a view but that was ok! There were plenty of laundry facilities and microwaves if you wanted to warm something up and you could get delivery to the lobby. It has a very pretty landscaped entrance and is only 5 minutes from Shijo station (5 mins to Kyoto station) and 10 mins to Shijo Omiya station. There is also a bus stop right outside that goes all the way to Kinkaku-ji temple! You are 20 mins for Gion and 15mins from the main shopping area. Easy to find somewhere to eat in the evening and get breakfast. There are free toilettes in the room but also in the lobby (lotion, cotton pads and cotton buds, iron etc) but the one thing I would have loved was UHT or fresh milk to be available. Yes there are markets nearby, yes there is an (unplugged) refrigerator in your room but I only wanted a little bit and this would have made my stay perfect. Still a great experience and definitely somewhere I would recommend for your stay in Kyoto.

Super cramped room that barely had any space to move around. This room was designed for a solo traveller. Only one of us could open one luggage at a time. Pillows were very thin.

Fabulous location with bus stops to most major destinations right out front. While rooms are small, they are well designed. Staff was friendly & helpful. I enjoyed Kyoto & Ibis Styles so much, I added 2 more nights.

Incredibly helpful front desk and very convenient location near trains and busstop.

Basic room and they won't provide water unless you requested from the reception. Location is best just 10 min walk you will reach to the shopping area.

It's a decent and very clean hotel. If choosing again I would rather pick a location further to the west as most tourist spots are there.

Ibis as usual standard rooms, rooms have smell, not what we expected, fridge was not working and amenities not provided need to request for it. Good point there is a laundry and ice dispenser

It’s a small room but it was fine for a couple days. Good location just 15-20 min walk from main area. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our 3 night stay.

A good experience altogether. Close to the train/metro station and city attractions. Amenities like coffee where on the low side and the absence of a vending machine was, for me, notable. The room was clean and the personnel excellent
