Overall a good stay. Nice bright modern room and hotel. But only one USB port, the beds are VERY firm, and the shower has a hand held spray which I really dislike. Also the tub is slippery and hard to get into. The elevators were quick and there were several. I would have liked to use the stairs more but while they were clean and well lit, they were confusing about where they ended up.

The hotel is centrally located and staff are generally friendly and efficient. Rooms, whilst a reasonable size need refurbishment and amazingly don’t have a refrigerator, which is standard in all but the most basic hotels these days - instead, guests are offered a bucket of ice from the bar! The bistro/bar in the lobby offers pre-packed toasted sandwiches which was another surprise and disappointing for a hotel that is trying hard to put itself in the high end category - certainly room prices reflect that ambition. Breakfast is the biggest redeeming factor where a good choice of local and international options are available.

A five star stay all the way around! The facility is in beautiful historic district, with elegance and grandeur to match. Impeccably clean and supremely maintained. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a suite on their most recently renovated floor, with design, interior space and room amenities all being above and beyond, an absolute 10 out of 10. All of our staff encounters were warm and gracious, with all exerting genuine hospitality. The front desk was so helpful w/ dinner recommendations and reservation at the oldest operating restaurant in Ljubljana, named Sestica. The menu was their traditional cuisine prepared in the most authentic way. Back to the hotel: A wonderful breakfast is included in a beautiful and well appointed dining room. As a bonus, their spa with Thai massage was amazing, and invitingly affordable by all standards. Carve out an hour and a half to treat yourself, you more than likely deserve and have earned such a reward. One note to which requires distinction: Union Eurostars and Grand Union Eurostars are not the same. Yes, they are affiliated and directly and openly connected, yet the similarity ends there. Union is more modern, and nothing wrong with it, just to similar to any chain Hotel anyone can find virtually anywhere. Grand Union, is an historic building, that evokes Grand European styling, and tradition, which is tantamount for us when staying in an Historic center! I also note that distinction, as the taxi driver did not know the difference and were dropped off @ Union reception, and after waiting a few minutes to get checked in, we were advised with complete courtesy that we would be met by her colleague @ Grand Union reception just around the corner. Bravo, Grand Union, we hope our travel plans provide a return visit down the road, and there is nowhere else we would ever consider staying than here.

Staff member D.J. really helpful & went out of his way to arrange pick up for us, as we had been waiting at train station for three hours with no taxis available as it was a holiday on June 8th. Breakfast varied & lovely. All staff members really friendly & helpful.

Loved this hotel! Breakfast was great choice and standard. Our room was a family delux style with inner doors to separate two beds. Bathroom was luxurious with bathtub. Nice touches to room such as an umbrella to use. So convenient to river and nearby attractions. The staff from reception to housekeeping were excellent. Very efficient and everything worked. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed in room 711 for 4 nights Large well equipped room with 2 large beds. Table, two chairs, desk, TV, safe deposit box, large wardrobe, hairdryer and make up mirror. Bathtub and lots of amenities. Clean room and housekeeping excellent! Pool and spa on the 9th floor. Helpful staff. Highly recommended!

My stay at The Fuzzy Log was overall a good stay. The staff were friendly, the shared spaces were fantastic - a fully-stocked kitchen, plenty of lounge space inside and outside, with a few game tables. They had lockers to leave bags pre-check in / post-check out, which is super handy. My deep dive room was very comfy for one person - I don't think you'd comfortably fit two suitcases in the space though. The mattress was okay. The main issues is the cleanliness - the toilets were filthy for almost my entire stay. One bathroom didn't have toilet paper for almost 24hrs, there was pee everywhere all over toilets and the floor, there was water and hair everywhere in the showers. I was truly bewildered because the hostel wasn't rowdy over the weekend so I don't know how they got to be in that state. Also one night, the shared kitchen was full of dirty dishes and food in the sink and on the benches. These are usually complaints directed at the people staying there, not the hostel itself, but I think more truly has to be done to have rules in places and added cleaning.

Great place to stay in a very good location. Everything was modern and clean, and there were lots of facilities such as a kitchen, washing machines, a bar etc. We stayed in one of the log cabins on the top bunk. It was kind of fun and the bed was big, but it was quite difficult to climb up there, so would only recommend it if you are young and fairly agile. The only issue was that the person that checked us in tried to get us to pay the full amount again for the room. When we showed him the payment confirmation, he then tried to get us to pay the tourist tax (which we had also already prepaid). He said that it was only possible to pay this at the hotel, however this wasn't true as we had already paid. When we showed him this, he accepted that we had already paid, so I would recommend making sure you have all payment confirmation to hand. We also were not told that there were four different shared bathrooms (one for men, one for women, one mixed, and one with private rooms), and that the women's bathroom was out of order. Worth knowing that there are private cubicles there if you want them.

The room we stayed in was old and had a musty smell upon entering. The given pillows were flat with oversized pillowcases. We only knew we could request for better pillows the next day. Didn’t see the write-up on the table. When we arrived, there was no car park lot in the garage anymore. Luckily, we were able to park in the open space car park which is just opposite the hotel. The receptionist who helped with our check-in was very helpful and answered our queries patiently. The breakfast was quite good. The location of the hotel is really superb. It is near the many places of interest and shopping areas. No need to take any transport. All within walking distance.
