The location is good which is near to Hollywood. However, there is no public transportation nearby, but the public transportation in LA is bad overall anyway. The room is nice. The bed is super comfy. There is a big screen tv. They even provide eye mask and earplug. The only problem we have is the breakfast. There is not many choices: only one hot item, mini croissants and fruits. They only serve breakfast until 9 am, which is too short for us. Overall it’s a good stay.

Stayed at The Tommie which is the sister hotel of Thompson Hollywood and came over to The Terrace for my Globalist breakfast. Love the view and the atmosphere at the rooftop!! I ordered Latte and Toad in the Hole with Bacon and they’re both amazing!! Service from Frosie’s the BEST! Very friendly and polite. Didn’t expect that kind of treatment specially in a LA/ Hollywood hotel. I had a great experience for breakfast that I came back for cocktails before I headed back to OC. Luckily, I got served by Frosie again. Will definitely return! :)

Lovely staff, great location, hotel was good overall. Restaurant / bar area by entrance a bit cramped, and staff forgot our order, and morning breakfast conveyor belt-ish. Otherwise enjoyed my stay and would recommend. Near to universal, by taxi, and short walk to Hollywood boulevard

The service wasn’t really up to the standards of such a wonderful, high end hotel. We even upgraded our room day of. They ruined our custom cake in transport from the valet to our room, despite the fact we gave them very detailed instructions. They reassured us that they’d be right up. I had to call twice to get them to bring us our luggage (and the cake) and by then a hour had gone by, and the custom decorations had melted off the cake ruining it.
There was a lot of confusion on how they would make it up to us as I had to talk to three different people on the day and the day after who all told me different things. In the end, since they didn’t send us a dessert to make up for the cake they ruined and the champagne they promised was instead $150 off at the bar — thank god I called to ask where the wine was otherwise I wouldn’t have known I had the credit and would not have used it.
Eventually they comped us the valet, upgrade and what they say was an extra drink we got at the bar that went over the $150 (impossible, we all made sure the math lined up) but the communication was a struggle and I did not felt appreciated as a customer.

YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

PPengguna TetamuIt was an enjoyable stay with Fairfield Inn, at El Segundo. The service from the front desk, to the cafeteria staff during the breakfast to the airport shuttle service were great! All of them were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the room was smaller than we expected but acceptable. Otherwise, the whole experience was great.

I had a smooth experience overall at the Sheraton Hotel. Check-in and service were efficient, and the facilities were well-maintained. However, I noticed some comments mentioning large crowds at certain times. It seems this is due to the shuttle service dropping off a batch of guests simultaneously, which is understandable. Despite this, the staff managed the flow effectively, and it didn’t significantly impact the overall experience. A great stay overall!

The staff were very friendly and accomodating, they were able to let us check in a little earlier than usual which was great as we had just got off a 14 hour flight and very jetlagged/tired. Rooms looked recently renovated, very clean and tidy. Aircon was nice to have on.
Overall not much to complain about. There was a smell (cleaning/perfume/flowers?) which is mentioned in other reviews, however we didn't find this unpleasant at all and got used to it. Having the Airconditioner on seemed to reduce the intensity.
Only downside is that it's a bit of a distance from tourist areas (15-20mins by Uber) so if you don't mind, this is a great place to stay.

The staff were friendly, courteous & efficient. The gated covered parking came in handy for the storm & I appreciate they have 3 well functioning luggage carts for guest use. Gateway Towne Center is within walking, 1 block to Best Buy, Marshalls, etc.

가가난한대학생나그네한국인 후기가 많이 없어서 솔직히 불안한 마음이 컸는데 그래도 가격이 너무 착해서 예약하게 되었어요. 2박3일에 7만원은 돈없는 여행자에게 너무 저렴한 가격이니까요 ㅎㅎ.. 한국인들을 위한 솔직 후기 갑니다 !
(장점)
1. 착한 가격
하룻밤 기준 저는 36000원정도에 예약했어요. 여행출발 약 한달전에
트립닷컴 통해서 예약했고 야놀자에서도 조회했을때 비슷한 가격이었지만 항공권 연계 프로모션이 붙어서 트립닷컴이 조금 더 저렴했어요.
한국 모텔보다도 싸고(같이 사용하는 방이지만 ..) 우려했던 추가금액은 전혀 없었어요. 예약한 금액에서 끝! 정말 트루입니다.
단, 자물쇠/수건은 꼭 개인이 가져가야 추가금이 없어요. 필요해서
카운터에 부탁하면 수건이 장당 2불인가 그렇게 빌려줄거에요 아마..
루미스호스텔 묵으시려면 자물쇠 수건은 진짜 필수!!!입니다.
2. 훌륭한 청결도
가격이 있으니까 청결도는 거의 포기하다싶이 했는데
침대 컨디션 침구류 컨디션 뭐 다 흠 잡을곳없이 좋았어요.
솔직히 좀 더러울줄 알았는데 전혀 그런 거 없었습니다.
화장실도 정말 중요한데 화장실 개수가 일단 정말 많아서
기다릴일이 없고 그 많은 화장실들이 깨끗하게 관리되고 있어서
정말 좋았어요. 아마 호스트가 청결도에 좀 민감한게 아닐까 싶어요.
매일 아침 청소하시는 분이 오셔서 화장실 하나하나 깨끗하게
청소해주십니다.. 이 가격대에 머무는 호스텔치고 청결도는 진짜
훌륭해요!
3. 교통의 편리성
저는 돈없는 학생여행자라 어딜가든 우버 절대 안 부르고 무조건
대중교통을 이용했어요. 버스정류장(lax갈수잇는)이
3-5분내 이동거리에 하나가 있고
한 15분정도 걸어가면 지하철역이랑 버스정류장이 있어요(할리우드 갈수잇는) 길도 크고 넓어서 위험하지 않고 대중교통 이용하기 너무 좋은 위치였던거 같아요. 저는 다 버스 지하철 이용해서 엘에이 여행하는데 이동비는 20달러 이하로 나왔어요:)
지도가 너무 잘 되어있어서 찾기도 편합니다.
전 엘에이 공항에서부터 호스텔까지 한시간 살짝 넘게 걸려 버스타고 갔어요ㅎㅎ..
4. 기타 장점
- 외국인 친구를 사귈 수 있음 (극내향형인 저도 나홀로 여행은 처음이라 좀 외로웠는데 적극적으로 말 걸어주는 좋은 친구가 한명 있었어요. 프론트랑 주방 근처에서 만남의 장이 열립니다. 외로우면 한번 가서 이야기에 껴보세요. 다양한 문화권에서 온 사람들이 모여 좋은 시너지를 만들더라구요.)
- 조식제공 !! 가난한 저에게 ㅋㅋㅋ.. 한줄기 빛 … 이 가격에 아침까지 제공해주는게 말 안됩니다.. 인당 식빵 4조각에 커피도 있고 만들어먹는 팬케이크(만들어먹는 사람 못봄..) 누텔라 땅콩버터 뭐 이정도 있어요 간단히 배채우기 좋은 느낌 !
- 장점은 아니지만 팁은 위에서도 말했듯
개인 자물쇠 / 일수에 맞춰 개인 수건 여러장 / 필수입니다.!!
+비닐봉투가 있으면 뭘 보관하기 좋을 거 같아요.
+물티슈정도..? 딴건 몰라도 자물쇠 수건은 꼭.. 까먹지 마세요 ~~

1. 나만의 공간이 없다(?)
너무 당연한거지만 모텔이나 호텔처럼 딱 내방 !이 아니다보니까
약간 불편한 것들이 있을 수 밖에 없어요..
같이 방을 사용하는 게스트들이 코를 곯거나 ,
**를 하는 사람이거나, 새벽에 활동하고 소란스럽게 들어오거나..
잘 안 씻거나 뭐 기타등등 후각 청각등이 예민하시다면 약간
힘들 수 있어요.
(**하는 사람이 제가 묵는 마지막날 밤에 들어왔는데
그 냄새가 좀 역해서 힘들었습니다..ㅎㅎ)
그래도 침**다 가림막이 있어서 그거 사용하고
에어팟이나 귀마개 쓰면 나름 괜찮아요! 호스텔이잖아요!!
2. 짐 보관
나만의 공간이 없다는 것과 연계되는 내용인데
공용으로 사용하는 사물함에 자물쇠로 잠궈서 보관도 하지만
부피가 커서 안 들어가는 캐리어같은건 그냥 방안 아무데나 보관히거나
로비에 보관하는데 솔직히 캐리어 잠금장치가 있다해도 조금은 불안하더라구요. 누가 가져가버릴수도있고 자물쇠도 솔직히 그냥 끊어버리면 그만이구요.. 호스텔 로비에서 일하는 알바생이 처음에 그러더라구요.
Cctv가 있는것도 아니고 조금 위험하니까 짐 관리는 개인이 정말 철저히 하는 수밖에 없다고 그게 가장 중요하다고 ㅎㅎ..! 본인이 정말 신경 바짝 세우고 잘 관리해야합니다!!
이모든 단점에도 불구하고 저는 정말 저같이 돈없는 학생 여행자나 저렴하게 여행하고 싶으신 분들께 강력하게 추천드려요. 이 가격에 이 정도만 되어도 충분히 훌륭하다고 생각이 되거든요. 저는 재방문의사 10000000%입니다. 너무 예민하지만 않으면, 또 스스로 꼼꼼하게만 챙기면 전혀 사고날것 없이 완벽한 숙소에요 !

First and foremost, the hotel's proximity to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a major advantage. It's a mere 10-minute drive away, which made it incredibly convenient for someone like me who had to catch an early morning flight. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a nice touch.
The check-in process was efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and welcoming. The lobby area is clean, modern, and well-designed, creating a favorable first impression.
I stayed in a standard room, and it was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the extra pillows provided. The room had a decent view and was adequately spacious for a solo traveler. The bathroom was also clean and stocked with the necessary amenities.
One of the highlights of my stay was the on-site restaurant, The Bistro. The food was surprisingly good, and they offered a variety of options for breakfast and dinner. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and provided excellent service. However, I found the prices a bit on the higher side.
The fitness center was well-equipped, and I was able to maintain my workout routine during my stay. The hotel also has a small outdoor pool, although I didn't have the chance to use it during my stay.
The only downside to my experience was the noise level in the hallways and adjacent rooms. Thin walls seemed to allow sound to carry, which made it a bit difficult to sleep when there were noisy neighbors. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was a bit slow at times, which could be frustrating if you're trying to get work done.
Overall, the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne is a solid choice for travelers looking for convenience near the airport. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent dining options make it a comfortable place to stay. However, improvements in soundproofing and Wi-Fi speed would enhance the overall experience.

JJosephWOW....THIS IS A GREAT PLACE......AND CHEAP!!! We wanted to be close by the Catalina Express and also the NCL Cruise ship as we are doing both.... The host here is very friendly....we arrived 3 hours early so she let us put our bags in the office and she gave us some great food ideas....so we ate lunch and then went on the USS Iowa moored just a mile away....WOW WHAT A GREAT SHIP TOUR......well worth the price....took us about 3 hours.......A LYFT one way is less than $10 or you can take the city bus,,,but the wait is about 45 mins....Cab is just over $10..........This place is so clean and well taken care of and seems to be very quiet.....The neighborhood is full of places to eat....I dont think the neighborhood is to bad either,,,,use common sense as always and stay on the main streets and I bet you will be O.K.

PPengguna TetamuDespite offering free breakfast, it does NOT start till 7-00am, then finishes at 9-00 sharp. Lots of food then thrown out, it was like packaged scrambled egg, small overcooked mini sausage, and diced fried potato. Lots of overseas guests cane after 9-00am no food? People leaving before 7-00am missed out as well! Room was okay and bathroom was very clean!

PPengguna TetamuMost important: we got an excellent nights sleep. Second floor in the back of the hotel (rm 222). It was quiet and we found the bed excellent. Service was helpful, polite. And the Wifi worked reasonably well - no problems with that.
Also important is we booked the room for $84 (total) and in LA/Manhattan Beach area that is cheap. Walk in price was $109+tax. So all my suggestions are just ”future ideas” and I have no grounds to complain about anything since we slept really well there. And yes, we will be back again no future trips.
Things that could be better:
o ice maker ”out of service” - they had one unit and it was connected, would make whirring noise when pushing in the dispenser, but no ice. We used the in-room 'fridge to freeze some water bottles to keep our picnic things cool the next day.
o inner courtyard looks like a small prison yard: the former pool and hottub are covered with what looks like roofing material and the fence around the pool area is locked off. No plants is the main problem. This could be a gem of a garden. My advice is to visit estate sales and garage sales to buy all the *large* potted plants they can find cheap (or free).
o renovate the rooms a bit: e.g. rip out the old carpets and put in any (yes, even linoleum) floor that can be mopped - much cleaner, no place for fleas, bedbugs, or dust mites to live in. Wash the walls and paint where repairs have been made - simple things can make the room much more pleasant to be in.
o put a window screen on the back window - which essentially faces a wall. But it was good (quiet) ventilation since it wasn't facing the street.
o small grey mark on the pillow case and a stray hair on the bed - harmless stuff to us but other people might find more objectiionable. And some stains in the carpet that probably will never come out. Not a big deal.
