Overall, it was worth paying. Receptionists are kind enough. Nothing special than other hostels which is the good part. There were 4 out of 6 people in the room. The location is about 10 minutes away from the main station so if you have lots of luggage, you should be aware of it. They said they have a hair dryer in the bathroom but it doesn't and it required me to deposit a certain amount of money to get a private one at the reception. They didn't notice that to me when I checked in. So I was extremely confused until I got the idea.

The rooms are clean and spacious but basic - no decoration or carpet, no tv or coffee maker. Breakfast is included and is adequate but with not much variety. Staff are polite and helpful. It’s a short walk into the centre of town. A good place to stay for a night or two.

Tout était correcte dans l'ensemble mais par rapport à d'autres endroits du même genre, ce faire dire arriver max. 21 hre et départ max. 10 hre le matin me semble très restreint quand on est en voyage... Très bel endroit et très beau stationnement qui malheureusement nous est chargé 15$.

Never have I come across staff that are so genuinely interested in your comfort and wellbeing. 99% of hotels have staff that are helpful and friendly but chatting to Samer at reception for 2 minutes revealed a person that really wanted to make sure you had what you needed and were comfortable. He insisted on going out of his way to make sure we had what we needed. We were travelling light (backpacks only) but Samer insisted on carrying our youngest’s backpack to the room (note, there is no lift). Located with a bus stop right next to the hotel and given a free city pass for all guests made access to town and the surrounds super easy - you’re only a couple of minutes from the main station. The rooms and hotel are neat and clean and set in a quiet and picturesque residential area. Our rooms had TV (that actually had watchable channels) coffee station, kettle, hair dryer, wardrobe, luggage counters and built in heating, but no mini fridge. There were plenty of plug points with USB-A plugs as well, making charging devices easy and convenient. Our bathrooms were small but had all the functionality offered in bigger and more expensive hotel rooms. I would highly recommend Hotel Spatz simply due to their staff - you can be confident that should something be needed in your stay, they will go above and beyond to assist you. Ankunft am Ruhetag. Schlüssel lagen bei der Rezeption. Die Zimmer zu finden war nicht so ganz einfach. Badezimmer gegenüber der Schlafzimmer. Sehr ungewöhnlich. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig, man hört jeden Schritt und auch wenn sich die Gäste in den Nebenzimmern unterhalten. Am nächsten Morgen wurden wir von Baustellenlärm geweckt. Auch eine freundliche Begrüßung, als wir zum Frühstück gingen, hat gefehlt! Es wurde lediglich gefragt, ob wir Hotelgäste sind??? Beim Frühstück auf der Terrasse konnten wir uns auch wegen des Baulärms nicht unterhalten! Die Hotelinhaber bekamen wir ebenfalls nicht zu sehen. Alles in allem: Bei dem Preis (180 SFR/Nacht/2 Personen) kann man mehr erwarten. Das Haus ist schlecht isoliert, hat keine Klimaanlage und es fehlte vor allem an Freundlichkeit.

Oh I love this hotel. It has free breakfast and provides free bus/train rides within zone 10. Breakfast has huge variety but taste can be improved.

I was really excited to start travelling after 2 years hiatus. I chose Switzerland as I had already made plans for the a 3 weeks trip in May 2020. I had to cancel it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I picked Alpina Hotel in Luzerne due to its great loation and affordability. It is near many eateries and other attractions. I booked 2 rooms; 338 and 339. We get to enjoy the street view and marvelled at the beautiful building opposite our rooms. I noticed that the opposite building was built in 1537 [ need to confirm this ]. The street was generally quiet except in the mornings when rubbish trucks cleared did their cleaning. The room has simple layout and mine has 2 sinks in the living area. The bed and pillows area are comfortable. The bathroom is small but all items worked well. I did not see any staff at Alpina as most of them were based at the nearby sister hotel, The Monopol, which is located about 20m away. Checking in was fast and easy and it was done at Monopol. I was grateful for all the guidance and assistance provided by the receptionist. Alpina hotel is located about 110m away from Luzerne Train Station and it was relatively easy to find. My room ; 339 is bigger than 338. All in all, I had a really great experience staying in this hotel.

Six of us stayed for two nights in three rooms and had a comfortable, if somewhat hot stay as there was no air con although there was a small table fan. The rooms were basic but, even though two were at the front, were quiet and they were clean. Breakfast was ok, good espresso from the machine. Great central location with an easy walk to the station.

Rooms are small but worth it for the location. Practically next to the train station but without any of the noise. Front desk folks were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was also great.
