me and two friends reserved a room for two nights and paid in full over ***********. our train was cancelled so we couldn’t make the first night and we rang the hostel to inform them we’d be late and he said he would close check in later, at 12.30am. then we rang to let him know we wouldn’t make it that night at all and rang multiple times with no answer despite it being before 12am. when we arrived to the hostel the following day we were told that the man who told us it was fine had cancelled our reservation without informing us so despite having paid we couldn’t stay in our room and we would not get a refund. this is against *********** policy. the lady at reception suggested we go to the beach and relax instead. we paid for another night at the hostel and made a complaint to *********** who secured a refund for one night of our first payment but obviously we paid again so the hostel got the same amount of money anyway despite breaking policy. other than this, the staff were rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. the ‘kitchen’ listed was revealed to be a microwave and a fridge, nothing more. i asked for a bowl and the lady at reception tried to offer me the used tupperware of someone working there. the man who we spoke to on the phone was rude and pretended not to speak english with us but later spoke fluently. this said the room wasn’t the worst but the shower wasn’t contained so water went everywhere and hadn’t been cleaned. please Do Not stay here. i can’t actually convey the scamming and conning and indecency. read other reviews to see the pattern of scamming here and believe them.
