My wife and I operate a small coach tour company, and have done so for the last 28 years. We offer residents of Sydney, the Central Coast, the Southern Highlands, Canberra and Queanbeyan, the opportunity to travel on a variety of tours, ranging from four days to ten days in length, to different areas in Eastern Australia. Last week, a group of our passengers from these areas travelled on a seven-day tour to Victoria. During the tour, our passengers stayed for four nights at the Novotel Melbourne Preston. We certainly have no complaints or regrets about using this Hotel for our group’s stay! When I first contacted the Hotel in September 2023, about the possibility of using it for my tour group’s accommodation for this tour, my enquiry was treated with genuine enthusiasm. I was put through to the Sales Manager, Ms Michele Kerrigan. Michele was amazing to deal with. After a steady stream of telephone conversations and emails during the next few days, the accommodation was booked, and the menus for all the dinners during this stay were locked in. At some hotels we’ve used over the years, this process can take weeks, and it can be quite a frustrating experience. At this Hotel, it was the exact opposite. So, a huge ‘thank you’ to Michele, for making this all so easy for us as tour organisers! After all the arrangements we finalised, and the booking was locked in, Michele passed on our booking to the Sales Coordinator, Annalise Dimase. Once again, Annalise was an absolute delight to work with! Between the finalisation of the booking, and the date of the group’s arrival, we spoke many, many times on the phone, and exchanged many, many emails. In all my dealings with Annalise, she was professional, personable, helpful, patient, and attentive. On a few occasions, when Annalise was unavailable, I was transferred to Nada, another member of the Sales Team. Again, Nada was wonderful to work with. When our tour group arrived at the hotel, Michele, Nada, and Annalise were all there to greet the passengers. They were very impressed by the warm and friendly welcome offered to them by this team! Once inside the Hotel, this level of service was experienced in all sections. The reception staff, the housekeeping staff, the restaurant staff, the chef and kitchen staff were all friendly, welcoming, obliging, and helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to any tour groups requiring accommodation in Melbourne. Judging by our experience, it would be difficult to surpass the level of attentiveness and friendliness offered by the management team and staff, the quality of service, the degree of comfort, and the attention to detail our group received during their stay. The room is quite nice and the location is good. It’s self checkin so I had to wait downstairs for a while as there was no staff and I wasn’t aware of this. There was a really a noisy alarm in the building across the street from my room and I asked to change room around midnight. The staff aren’t very accommodating and I couldn’t change room. Luckily the noise stopped after a while. The hotel is okay but I had actually just come from the Brady Hotel at Central Melbourne where the price and location is similar but with much better customer service. I’d suggest skipping the Ibis.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and perfect location. Easily accessible to the public transport and eating points. Great value for the money. Good budget option for a short visit. I would love to come again.

The Royal Hotel provides convenient access to Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne CBD. The accommodation varies in price according to demand, as is usual these days, but it is normally around $100 per night. The Nightcap Social club is exclusively for hotel guests. The Royal has been rejuvenated recently, it's a pleasant place to stay. By the way, the popular dining room serves good, no-nonsense food that is reasonably priced.

Great hotel close to city center near Coles and Southern Cross station, very convenient. There is a swimming pool, sauna room, steam room, arcade, and gym for all guests to use for free. Rooms are clean and spacious, but the heating can be improved. Amenities are provided in the bathroom.

Good service, great location within CBD, close to Southern Cross and Flinders stations, within free tram zone too. The bed was comfie enough, room small, dated and needed a lick of paint and fridge really noisy. Even at 5 storeys up you can hear traffic, especially sirens. BUT, I wouldn't let that put you off, IF you simply need an affordable base to go explore etc.

We arrived in Melbourne from Sydney at 8pm on Monday 10th, with the intention of staying at an apartment we booked. We got to the apartment and it was shocking. We couldn’t stay at this particular apartment as it was not to our satisfaction and was not safe as we had 4 children with us. We looked to find alternate apartments and we came across Nesuto Hotel. The time now was 10pm. We gave them a call and asked if we could have a look at the apartment before making a decision as we wanted to make sure it was safe for our children. The manager Krisha agreed for us to have a look. We were impressed and booked 2 hotel rooms. Krisha and her staff were amazing and very caring. She saw how stressed out we were and wanted us to be happy. The next day Krisha called my room to see if I was ok as she saw how upset and stressed I was. All I could say is that this has been the best hotels we have been to. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were very clean and it was close to public transport. But best of all was that the staff were very caring and polite. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Out of town location - you need to take a tram to Melbourne Business center- luckily is pretty convenient as tram station just opposite the hotel. Don’t stay here if you are driving - as no proper space for you to load off your luggage and the parking is 300m away- charges is also not cheap if considered is outskirts of town area. Hotel lobby- nothing to shout about and the services is just normal- it definitely can be improved. Room look ok for the price we paid- while all the other was normal - including the breakfast- nothing to shout about and is definitely below my expectation since it’s bearing the name of Sheraton

A really nice hostel, with a lot of sympathicly supporting program. But: in the little things unfortunately more appearance than reality. The rooms lack ventilation/air conditioning. The protective curtains are mostly torn out. Cleaning in the corners is sporadic. The kitchen is cleaned too irregularly, so that food remains dry in all places. The shower does not provide a constant water temperature and brown mold forms. The staff is generally quite nice, but room for improvement is nevertheless also. The Selina Hostel brand can improve it, and better.

We arrived out of hours and were expecting trouble however it was a simple phone call and we got our key. We got a great deal on our accommodation, which had more than enough for our needs. The facilities (pool etc) were great and everything in our room worked perfectly. the air con was cold and quiet, the TV was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. The only thing I noticed was the walls (toilet) and curtains (main entrance) are a little dirty (probably due to being a specific room for lots of children?) however this is just fussy. I will most definitely stay at Discovery Park again without any hesitation. From check in to check out it was easy, quiet and stress free exactly what I needed
