My boyfriend and I stayed here for summerfest and it was only 1 night but we still enjoyed ourselves in the establishment. I liked that they had a shuttle bus that took us to summerfest and picked us up from there after it was over. The only thing that annoyed us was that the fire detector had low battery so it would beep periodically and it’s a little loud since it’s in a little hotel room.

I received exceptional service from valet Daniel. I had left my phone in our car and discovered about an hour after we’d had it valet parked. Daniel assured me it was no problem and readily agreed to bring it to me—he hurried off to the parking spot and came back with the phone at a run. Daniel was courteous and helpful. We had two rooms booked from Friday October 21 checking out Sunday October 23rd. On Saturday October 22nd upon our return to the room we noticed the door ajar (with no sign of forced entry), and steam emanating from the room and the sound of shower on. Upon entry we found all hot water taps were going full blast, the room had been ransacked and our items strewn about. The thief took my purse, laptop, daughter’s iPad and various other personal effects. I immediately went to the front desk where the clerk told me to call the police myself. No hotel security came to our aid. And when the police were finally called - no one from the hotel bothered to participate in the investigation. When I asked for another room for me and my 11 year old daughter to sleep so we would feel safe, we were told we’d “have to wait until the police investigation was done” ie several hours into the morning. When I called the front desk again to ask if we could please switch to another room - she hung up on me. I was livid. When I called the front desk back to ask again about switching rooms, a woman security officer said “you’re going to listen to me… you are not getting another room!”. Upon hearing this we packed our bags and found a room at the Hilton down the street. While waiting for our Uber to arrive (this is at 1 am by then) I approached the front desk to tell them we were leaving and to ask for the hotel manager’s name and number. I was then told by this front desk clerk to “google it”. And when I reacted in anger , this security “officer” then started coming toward me and menacing me. So we left. When I went back the next day - I asked for a refund and was told to send the police case file #. Which I did and emailed Sunday morning by 11:30 am. I still have not heard back about the investigation or any refund. So not only were we robbed by someone who obviously was given access to our room, but we were told to stay in a steaming, wet ransacked room and mistreated by a belligerent front desk clerk and her coworker security guard. If you are a woman travelling alone with a child, don’t stay at this property if you have a choice!

My husband and I travel to Milwaukee each year for his birthday. We chose this hotel for its location in proximity to our dinner reservation and the attractions we had planned. There were several negative reviews for this hotel regarding check in, cleanliness, and parking, I'd like to share my feedback to ensure travelers do not deter from staying at this hotel for those reasons. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by a friendly front desk staff and were able to check in promptly at 4pm. We were able to conveniently park in their side lot while we brought our belongings up to our room. The room was extremely spacious and had beautiful upgrades and convenient amenities such as a full kitchen. The high ceilings really made this room unique. Everything in the room was very clean. There is a parking garage directly across from the hotel which was easy to access and only cost $22.00 a night to park. When staying in downtown MKE it is to be expected that you will pay for parking, and knowing our car was in a covered garage was peace of mind. We choose to Uber to our destinations, so we didn't have to find parking multiple times, and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for our ride to arrive. My only disappointment was there was no happy hour. I was under the impression there was a cocktail hour offered, but it didn't take away from our stay, as there were several liquor stores within walking distance to grab a drink for the room while we got ready. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with options, fresh, hot, and the egg bites were delicious. The last thing I will add which is huge for me, they have complimentary water, hot water for tea, and coffee in the lobby at all times. I hate forgetting to bring a water bottle for the middle of the night when staying at a hotel, so I loved this feature. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again in the future! Don't let the negative reviews sway your decision. This was a beautiful, newly converted hotel that you should absolutely check out next time you are staying in the area.

Great location and comfy bed. Room was nice size… we had a junior suite. The decor of room was a little garage sale eclectic. Wall clock did not work. Nice having a full-size kitchen. If you think you see two little girls walking down the hallway holding hands and a little boy riding a big big wheel, don’t worry it’s just your imagination! Surprise no complementary coffee or coffee maker in room. Only place to get coffee is lobby and they charge. Kind of a bummer fora hotel in this day and age, especially for the cost.

We had two rooms booked from Friday October 21 checking out Sunday October 23rd. On Saturday October 22nd upon our return to the room we noticed the door ajar (with no sign of forced entry), and steam emanating from the room and the sound of shower on. Upon entry we found all hot water taps were going full blast, the room had been ransacked and our items strewn about. The thief took my purse, laptop, daughter’s iPad and various other personal effects. I immediately went to the front desk where the clerk told me to call the police myself. No hotel security came to our aid. And when the police were finally called - no one from the hotel bothered to participate in the investigation. When I asked for another room for me and my 11 year old daughter to sleep so we would feel safe, we were told we’d “have to wait until the police investigation was done” ie several hours into the morning. When I called the front desk again to ask if we could please switch to another room - she hung up on me. I was livid. When I called the front desk back to ask again about switching rooms, a woman security officer said “you’re going to listen to me… you are not getting another room!”. Upon hearing this we packed our bags and found a room at the Hilton down the street. While waiting for our Uber to arrive (this is at 1 am by then) I approached the front desk to tell them we were leaving and to ask for the hotel manager’s name and number. I was then told by this front desk clerk to “google it”. And when I reacted in anger , this security “officer” then started coming toward me and menacing me. So we left. When I went back the next day - I asked for a refund and was told to send the police case file #. Which I did and emailed Sunday morning by 11:30 am. I still have not heard back about the investigation or any refund. So not only were we robbed by someone who obviously was given access to our room, but we were told to stay in a steaming, wet ransacked room and mistreated by a belligerent front desk clerk and her coworker security guard. If you are a woman travelling alone with a child, don’t stay at this property if you have a choice!

This is a wonderful National Historic Trust Hotel that has been restored to its original beauty and history. There are several dining options from a very expensive top restaurant in the City to reasonably priced Pubs for a downtown location. Its easy to walk, take the bus, or ride the free trolly just a couple blocks away.

I received exceptional service from valet Daniel. I had left my phone in our car and discovered about an hour after we’d had it valet parked. Daniel assured me it was no problem and readily agreed to bring it to me—he hurried off to the parking spot and came back with the phone at a run. Daniel was courteous and helpful. The renovations are really nice. The room was great except for the pillows. I found the pillows uncomfortable. I have arthritis and the pillows are extra puffed up forcing my neck and head up so far that I couldn’t tolerate the pain. I ended up using the bath towels as a pillow to keep my neck/head in a normal position to be able to sleep. Everything else was great including the shuttle service from an to the airport.

Great location and comfy bed. Room was nice size… we had a junior suite. The decor of room was a little garage sale eclectic. Wall clock did not work. Nice having a full-size kitchen. If you think you see two little girls walking down the hallway holding hands and a little boy riding a big big wheel, don’t worry it’s just your imagination! Surprise no complementary coffee or coffee maker in room. Only place to get coffee is lobby and they charge. Kind of a bummer fora hotel in this day and age, especially for the cost.
