Great location, rooms are big, it was not so clean but it was manageable. Receptionist staffs and housekeeping people are all ”strongly suggested” to go for the training to become ”well mannered and extremely polite” with all the guest. One ”exceptional” from all the receptionist is the Omani guy whose name is ”Sudiqqe” he was so helpful, always smiling and very polite, accommodating and well mannered from all. The Manager namely ”Mr. Bernard” who was so helpful, very professional and well mannered, is the one who made us feel comfortable and was trying to make us happy from the last few days of our stay in the hotel. He was the one who help us also to recovered my bottle of perfume and the pack of facemask which was ”intentionally stolen” in our room from one of the housekeeping. Overall, if your are looking for a budget friendly hotel, Mutrah hotel can be recommended.

It had a big marble writing table, a very simple open wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities with two small glasses, but no spoon. I especially missed bedlamps. AC and the shower worked well. It was quiet at night. In the bathroom there was no storage place whatsoever. The shower had no curtain, so the bathroom floor got all wet (most other rooms I saw had a curtain, but not room 209). There was no showergel, just some small bottles of shampoo and a liquid sopa by the washbasin, which again had no plug, just a big hole. There was no bathmat, no hairdryer and no glass for the toothbrush. The breakfast buffet in the Anna Café on the ground floor was quite good. I especially appreciated the American coffee. Breakfast is available from 7 to 10am.

Overall an extremely poor experience. AC didn't work, there was extremely loud music until 3am on both nights, cockroach found in bathroom, balcony/window covered in pigeon poo so couldn't even get fresh air (pigeon poo is very dangerous and can cause a variety of diseases), using some power sockets made the lights flicker, there as no toilet paper provided, only 1 towel, wardrobe door was broken, the only bedding was a stained fluffy blanket without a top bed sheet, TV didn't work. On the second night I asked the manager to turn down the music, but they didn't bother. Given the price I wasn't expecting much, but this was generally awful, and would NOT recommend anyone stay here. I tried very hard to find good things; the bottom sheet clean, soap and shampoo provided, complimentary bottle of water each, and morning papers downstairs. We stayed at this hotel in a twin room in November 2022.

The Manager namely ”Mr. Bernard” who was so helpful, very professional and well mannered, is the one who made us feel comfortable and was trying to make us happy from the last few days of our stay in the hotel. He was the one who help us also to recovered my bottle of perfume and the pack of facemask which was ”intentionally stolen” in our room from one of the housekeeping. Overall, if your are looking for a budget friendly hotel, Mutrah hotel can be recommended.

There is probably no better place to stay in Muscat than in Muttrah with the Souq, the Corniche, the Fish Market, the Fort and the excellent restaurant Bait al Luban, all in walking distance from the hotel Naseem, still the best choice around here. The people in charge of this two-star hotel must know about it and this is reflected in the price, which was considerable higher that in all the four-star hotels (also in other parts of Muscat), that I had been using on the same trip. Good about this hotel, besides the location, was the size of the room and the cleanliness. It had a big marble writing table, a very simple open wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities with two small glasses, but no spoon. I especially missed bedlamps. AC and the shower worked well. It was quiet at night. In the bathroom there was no storage place whatsoever. The shower had no curtain, so the bathroom floor got all wet (most other rooms I saw had a curtain, but not room 209). There was no showergel, just some small bottles of shampoo and a liquid sopa by the washbasin, which again had no plug, just a big hole. There was no bathmat, no hairdryer and no glass for the toothbrush. The breakfast buffet in the Anna Café on the ground floor was quite good. I especially appreciated the American coffee. Breakfast is available from 7 to 10am.
