Unique food, impeccable service! I attended a large dinner in the ballroom. The chandeliers and lighting in the room created a beautiful atmosphere. The servers were kind and attentive. Main course was a unique aubergine dish - something out of the ordinary - and it was wonderfully prepared. I’ve eaten at The Alice for dinner as well as tea, and now I know that banquets are as delicious as the restaurant.

Very very basic. Very little care taken in general. Room was ok but small and stuffy. Decor run down . Corridors cramped and shabby. Desk was unmanned, had to buzz to get staff over road from their “ sister “ hotel. They seemed disinterested. Little local knowledge. Walls paper thin. When i left in the morning , I walked out into a building site - the whole section , including the front door , had been sectioned off workmen - who shouted at me for not wearing a hard-hat 😂 would have been nice to get a heads up from the hotel this was happening. You get what you pay for , and this was cheap , but I won’t be staying again. Recommend avoiding

First up: do not, under any circumstances, book a room here. Booked a Saturday and Sunday for a friend’s thirtieth. Checked in and unpacked, then another couple showed up for the same room. Turns out the hotel had cancelled our room without telling us (but, notably, AFTER charging us) and then required us to leave our event, come back, pack up all our stuff, and move out, (or “we will take your things and throw them out on the street”). The manager on the phone was unable to explain what had happened, couldn’t access the back-end system, and eventually decided that it was our fault that we’d mistyped an email address (an error on our end BUT we had been in text contact throughout the preceding week and they hadn’t bothered to tell us we no longer had a reservation), and then later that we hadn’t clicked “confirm” on an email we never got. Side note: I’ve worked in hotels for years; this explanation is nonsense; and even if it wasn’t - if you thought we’d cancelled, why did you still charge us for the room? I guess this is what happens when you don’t actually have any staff on the premises to sort out issues. As it was, after booking and paying for a room months ago, we were left stranded in the middle of Oxford with nowhere to stay. No apology from the hotel and it took two weeks of both of us dealing with increasingly hostile management before getting our room refunded. Minus a tenner they kept for themselves to pay for “the diary management’s company’s admin fee” - again, I worked in the industry, we all know that this is nonsense, Eviivo OBVIOUSLY don’t charge admin fees per email, but I guess they fancied helping themselves to an extra £10 for all their hard work in not hosting us. Just really small-time behaviour all round. It’s a shame because the room itself looked nice but I would recommend that you only book this place if you’re fine with not actually being allowed to stay in it.

Booked for a night away... Lovely room, spacious, tidy, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and polite and chatty... The room was quiet, so quiet considering how busy it was and it's location near the road. Didn't try the restaurant so can't comment. But a lovely night was had... My only issues would be that there was no plug socket near the bed, and the door to the bathroom was a sliding door and a bit noisy during the night...

Sangat Baik
PPengguna Tetamuvery nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service.
PPengguna TetamuThis hotel is in a great location, close to the train and bus stations. The check-in people were very friendly and let us leave our suitcases when we arrived before check-in time. They gave us a helpful detailed map of the major sights to see. When we returned to check in, they had already put our suitcases in our room upstairs. Our room was quiet and clean and came with a fan. The staff also let us store a sandwich in their refrigerator. Overall, a great stay for a reasonable price. I would definitely stay there again.
PPengguna TetamuGreat guest house. Will book again. On a side note I am advised by the guest house that a refund has been sent to you, to forward onto me, due to at one point having no electricity. The guest house have advised that the refund will be sent from yourselves. Please advise when I will receive the refund. Thank you.
PPengguna TetamuRoom #904. Parking was provided (limited availability, but no problem if you check in early). Nice room, but noisy bunch of young people partying below us that evening and night, but I appreciate that can't be helped while the May VIII's are racing on the river (Bumps).
We had some friends join us for supper in ”Keepers' restaurant and bar and were repeatedly hurried by the waitress to get our order in before 8:40pm ”because 9pm is when the chef goes home”. Well it didn't need a 'chef' truly, but the food was acceptable and reasonably priced at £120 for 4 including drinks. No chance of pud though, unless you had ordered it before the watershed. We had bought our own birthday cake, so we had that instead. I can't think of any other European countries where this would happen...
We asked if we could leave our car in situ for a few hours after we checked out the following morning and we were accommodated with grace, which was very kind. A well-situated establishment, we paid £150 for the night for a double room in the new block.
PPengguna TetamuOn the plus side…very clean rooms with friendly, helpful staff. Close to the city centre (10min walk) and train station (3min walk). Reasonable rates, especially for a city. Tasty breakfast with chance to upgrade to a cooked option. On the minus side….rather dated, with maintenance needed on the shower(we had to tie the shower head into position as it kept falling down). The extractor fan didn’t work and with no window in the shower it did become a bit treacherous in there! Some of the sockets didn’t work properly and were in odd places so to plug in the kettle it had to go on the floor! There was some work going on outside with the railway bridge which meant the workmen directing pedestrians arrived early about 6am until 10pm and would shout loudly outside our window to their colleagues so I was glad of my trusty earplugs especially as we had a heatwave at the time and needed all the windows open. We did have a fan in the room thankfully. Would I stay there again?….maybe… but not in the heat of the summer without air conditioning.
