We arrived very late for check-in, but the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They even surprised us with a complimentary upgrade for both our rooms and thoughtfully arranged them side by side, which made things so much easier for our family. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and modern, with two very comfortable double beds. We also really appreciated the complimentary daily laundry service — such a thoughtful touch, especially when traveling with kids. The location is excellent — just a 3-minute walk to Wen Chang Men city wall, which made exploring super convenient. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. There was a wide variety of options, including local Xi’an specialties like rou jia mo, zheng gao, and you zha ma hua — everything was delicious and gave us a great taste of the local culture. A special mention to Apple from the hotel staff, who truly went above and beyond. It was my daughter’s birthday, and she kindly helped decorate the room with balloons, birthday decorations, confetti, and even birthday sunglasses. She also arranged a very cute cake for her — it absolutely made her day unforgettable. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is available 24 hours, and they responded to our requests even late at night (around 2:30am), which we really appreciated. My kids also loved the little robot that delivers items like mineral water — such a fun and memorable touch. When we checked out, the hotel even gave us Xi’an fridge magnets as souvenirs, which was a lovely gesture. Xi’an has become one of our favourite cities in China — 5 days were simply not enough to explore everything this culturally rich place has to offer. We will definitely be back, and without a doubt, we would choose to stay at this hotel again.

We booked for 2nights in April and it came with breakfast, first run of minibar, Single Tang Dynasty themed travel photography & Imperial Hot Spring Twelve Hours Experience. As our room has its own hot bath that fills up every night at 7.30pm to 12.30am, we did not go to the Imperial hot spring which is at located in another building. Hotel: It is located in the Hua Qing Palace scenic area and for hotel guests, you can enter and exit the scenic area freely. In the scenic area, there are other eateries like KFC and coffee joints but they operate only during scenic area opening hours. The Hua Qing Palace consists of many cultural sites like Tang Dynasty Imperial Hot Spring Relics Museum, Xi’an Incident site, Five Rooms Hall, Jiulonghu Lake and Furonghu Lake scenic spot, Tang Dynasty Pear Garden Relics Museum and many landmark buildings, such as Feishuang Hall Wanshou Hall, Longevity Hall, Huan Garden and Emperor Yu Palace. Service: The staff in the hotel are helpful to assist and answers all my questions in a clear manner. They came with buggy as soon as I dial for them and also assisted us to purchase the tickets for the show. Photography: I enjoyed the Tang Dynasty themed travel photography and I find that both make-up artist (Ms Dian Dian) and photographer (Mr Wang Jie) are very professional and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This photography is conducted by a third-party vendor that is stationed in the hotel. We went to the Hua Qing Palace for the photography. It is a convenient location to take photo with beautiful backgrounds. A day after the photo taking, we went online to choose the photos that I wanted to keep. Customer Service Ms Liang Yanping conducted a live session via a link in wechat, somewhat similar to zoom meeting to showcase all the photos that were taken. The complimentary digital photos given by the hotel are for 3 high quality digital photos and if one wants more than 3 pictures, there will be an extra charge for the purchase. Food: The restaurant is located in another building which is about 8minute walk away. Alternatively, we can call the buggy to send us there and back. The food is really yummy and I must say the Chang-an Roasted Whole Chicken is a must try. Also.... the desserts are so good too. With a love for sweet food, I tried the almond lotus paste and also the lychee and redberry cold dessert. They are both gooooood... Show: At night, there is a large-scale live-action historical dance drama “The Song of Everlasting Sorrow” that is created by Shaanxi Tourism Group Company. The theme of this dance drama is the love story between Emperor Xuanzong and Consort Yang. This is a must see as the performance is top notch. Separate tickets must be purchased for the show. Summary: For those who want to be in a historical site that offers a hot spa right in your bedroom, this is an ideal place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay here and will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who are visiting Xi-an and to use this as a last stop in Xi-an before heading to your next destination.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable for my family of 4. No issues with the heating, easy to control. Universal power points are available so no travel charger needed. Breakfast was adequate and delicious. Kids enjoyed the games room tremendously!

A truly unforgettable stay – beyond 5 stars! We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Sofitel People’s Legend in Xi’an. Our room was spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable – the perfect place to relax after exploring the city’s rich history. Dining at Dolce Vita was a delight, with exquisite cuisine and a warm atmosphere. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the exceptional service we received. A heartfelt thank you to Ruizi, Themis, Fancy, and Tommy, who went above and beyond to make our Mother’s Day celebration so special. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel truly cherished. If we could give more than five stars, this would be a solid 10. We will most certainly return!

The hotel is super chill and beautiful. Hotel manager Cindy is very helpful and pat attention to all the details. As I changed my room type during the stay and she came to me and try her best to accommodate my requests. Thank you so much Cindy and her team.

This is a lovely hotel with kind, welcoming staff. I read some reviews saying the rooms are very old etc, but I don't see how that makes this hotel any less great - the rooms are still clean and well maintained. I arrived in Xi'an after 48 hours of hectic traveling due to a missed train, and the staff at Meihao Hotel were very welcoming, were happy to use translation apps to communicate with me. The room was large, with a view of the neighbourhood outside (mostly just traffic jams haha, but that's Xi'an). The location may not be super ideal for some as it isn't in the city centre, but honestly it was no inconvenience at all, as the nearest subway station is a brisk walk away -- about 5-7 minutes. If you're arriving by train and carrying a lot of heavy luggage, then yes, coming via subway might be a bit of a challenge (but not impossible!) The housekeeping staff especially were very warm and kind. Thank you for always brightening my day when I walked by you all. A few hours after I checked in, a lovely staff member knocked on my door and offered me a small bowl of soup. I was very confused as I hadn't ordered anything, but upon seeing other guests were receiving this too, I gladly accepted. It was such an unexpected, kind gesture -- this hotel truly knows how to make one feel welcome. I fell ill on the second day of my stay, and thankfully the room was so comfortable, I could recuperate well. My only complaint is that the bedsheets, comforter, pillowcases etc -- all the bedding essentially smells of cigarette smoke. I could also smell cigarette smoke from beyond my room's door at night. This was despite there being a clear sign in the room saying smoking was not allowed inside. Though this is certainly not something you can fault hotel staff for (if guests are adamant to smoke inside, what can housekeeping possibly do?), I just thought I would mention this for any other guests who might be very sensitive to the smell, perhaps you could request staff to rewash the bedding until the smoke smell is entirely gone. After checking out, I also noticed there were some freebies that were part of my booking that I unfortunately missed out on :( There was meant to be welcome fruit, afternoon tea for two and a midnight snack, which I would have loved to try. There was no welcome fruit offered, but I did receive some refreshing juice when I arrived to check in -- it was a hot day and I was grateful for the welcome drink. For the other stuff, as I didn't realise it was part of the booking perks, I never asked, and consequently seem to have missed out. I also want to say that aside from the rooms, the lobby area is quite lovely -- very tastefully decorated, peaceful, and I even saw they had some free coffee out for guests! I only noticed this when I was checking out though, and my taxi was already on the way to pick me up, so I could not indulge. Maybe it would be helpful if the reception staff could share all this info with guests when they check in, especially with the foreign guests who are already a bit confused and trying to get their bearings ^-^ Just a suggestion! Great room and beds, perfect for 3 adults. Breakfast was small but flavorful, and the front desk has free tea for guests. Service was great! Only qualm was that there was a pretty strong smoke smell in the corridors and room.

Very friendly and cooperative staff. We enjoyed our stay here so much. They even helped me getting shuttle service to the terracotta museum at reduced price. There is tasty snacks in the afternoon and super tasty noodles dinner at night. They even gifted us a beautiful fridge magnet on check out. All in all, we had a great time and the price is definitely worth it.

A decent hotel that could have been better. Firstly the positives. The hotel is located centrallly and very close to the main tourist attractions, i.e. Bell and Drum towers and also right above the metro station. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, there are a few things the hotel could improve upon. While it was known that the front elevator is not operational and entry is from the backside, the instructions are not very clear and signages could have been put up. Even at the backside elevator it is not clear which floor to take. It was 6th. Even after that, finding the reception lobby was a challange. Signs are only in Chinese. All this becomes difficult for foreign tourists. The buffet breakfast was also ok. It was primarily a Chinese buffet. This is not a problem but items like Juice and Milk are not refilled. All 3 days the juice and milk was almost over and we need to manually turn the container to get anything out. Such things need more attention especially when communication is a challenge. While the rooms are good, the way the WC and shower doors are designed it becomes a problem for a family of 3. Each facility should be having a separate door. The people at the reception are helpful and they do make efforts in communication. Overall, the hotel while good would be more convenient for locals. A little difficult for foreign tourists. If the hotel wants to open up to foreign tourists then there needs to be some staff with good English communication along with English signages.

Good hotel! Very good location, and easy to find! The room is good, in shower and toilet is very clear! But in the floor in room vas a little bit dirty. But anyway room is good, and bed is soft. Just I couldn’t close the window and was a little bit cold in night
