This is the finest hotel I have ever stayed in. In addition to the exquisite decor and quality furnishings, what makes this a five star hotel is the incredible staff. They bend over backwards to ensure your stay is memorable. There was a bottle of champagn on ice in our room to welcome us. On my way out to go to the store, one of the staff asked what we were getting. I replied outlet adapters. He replied ”no need, I'll have a couple brought up to the room. When we were checking out, they gave us a breakfast-to-go bag which included juice, yogurt, fruit and pastries. When I asked about an ice machine, they brought a bucket of ice up to the room. Turn down service included chocolates and sometimes berries. House labeled bottled water in the room was gratis. Once she showed up with a couple of breaded, fried shrimp tapas. Shout out to the breakfast staff as well. They were cheery and professional at all times. The crystal chandeliers, deep pile rugs, spotless interiors, classic architectural touches, incredible service and a very relaxing vibe all add up to the finest travel experience one could hope for. Everything about Torel is breathtaking.

No words.... Has been a trip INSIDE a subway construction area .... And I am not kidding unfortunately. I have reserved a single room kind bed. At beginning the reception assigned me one room at 4th floor exactly in front of jackhammer operators, which made the same noises as in war scenario with 2 beds. Then after my immediate big complain reception have assigned me another room, #209. Different scenario : that was in front of a concrete grinding crane arrives from 8pm in the morning until 10pm in the evening. at 7am the noises of the vehicles began with the relative movement alarm and in the evening after 10pm the workers who hammer gradually finished at 1am in the night. all i have timed videos to prove my experience. I asked several times to assign me a room ON OTHER SIDE (that are outside the ”war operation area”) but answer was always _ ”SORRY SIR, THE ROOM ON BACKSIDE ARE FULL AND WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE AVAILABLE” . Today at check out I have asked a discount, as feedback the receptionist charged me 20EUR more for 2 peer juices I have got from minibar...... I do not know how to describe this experience, I have been many times in Intercontinental and I have been always satisfied.... BESIDE THIS LAST TRIP THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING I WANT TO FORGET Travellers' take extreme care going there !! At least until the subway works under room balcony are finished !!! This Hotel provides great price for quality service. Due to its proximity to Campo 24 Augusto metro station you can easily access wherever you want in Porto and can easily reach the Hotel from Airport. The strength of this Hotel is its Management Team and excellent service. I would name Marina for her outstanding attitude to making our stay even more comfortable. The check-in was quick and although we had early arrival our junior suite was ready. We were give an upgrade to superior junior suite thanks to Marina and the GM - Mr Martins. The room had breathtaking views of Porto and provided great comfort! We had a double bed and a sofa bed, which was large enough for two kids. The rooms here are equipped with separate air-conditioners, which we did not use because of good weather. We had half board and I would emphasize that both breakfasts and dinners were of superb quality. The staff were quick and polite. The Hotel has pools and restaurants that offer lunch also. There is a huge supermarket Continente with its bakery that is only 2-3 minutes away from the Hotel. Also, the City Sightseeing bus has its departing point easily accessible from the Hotel just at 10 minutes walking distance . One may also prefer to reach the Old City with its jewels by walking some 25 minutes. Overall this Hotel is a great place to stay.

An obvious first class hotel. The room was exceptionally appointed and very spacious. The bathroom was stunning with all marble, separate water closet, shower and double sink vanity. Two closets for hanging and multiple drawers. Very quiet when windows were closed but opened to get the Porto city vibe, when desired. Great location and easily walkable to river or around town. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The hotel team was gracious and helpful. The gym was small but had everything you needed to maintain some workout routine on vacation! We didn't enjoy the spa but toured it, including the indoor pool, and it was beautiful. The bar was cozy for a pre-evening drink and the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel as it will make your Porto experience one to remember!

We had an amazing stay at Torel Avantgarde. This was the first hotel we stayed at during our honeymoon. The staff was so attentive and always happy to help. The breakfast was delicious. We visited the spa on a rainy day and had a great massage. The room was clean and we had an amazing view of the Douro River from our balcony. Truly 5-star service all around.

Perfect location with simple way to promoted parking near the hotel. Many restaurants near the hotel and good cuisine in local restaurant. Foto with view from room 307

Comfortable stay, helpful and friendly staff, great central location, good value breakfast and a nice rooftop bar with a garden area that was relaxing to sit in and chat in the evening and after breakfast and look over at the cathedral view or enjoy the fountain. Room/apartment was clean, and bed comfortable although one of my pillows a bit old I think. There is a gym with cycle, cross-trainer and running machine but an oddly random and very limited selection of free weights. There was no drinking water in the gym when I visited. We didn't try the spa/massage facilities, which are an advertised attraction. Bathroom towels seemed to be replaced whether placed on the floor or not. Guests departing by taxi on a weekend would be advised to allow plenty of time as traffic was heavy and traffic control system allowing selective access via a retractable bollard seemed not to work well so our taxi arrived over 20 minutes after the time arranged.

Wonderful hotel, it used to be a palace. The room has got to be one of the prettiest rooms i have seen, very well designed and the archtecture is amazing. Bathroom is also stunning, everything is not only beautiful and fancy but very comfortable and very good quality. Breakfast has a ton of options for fruits, juices, cakes eggs etc. The pool and SPA are also amazing, with a dry sauna and a turkish sauna, everything you could need like snacks and refreshments in the pool area are also provided at no aditional cost. Would definetly come back.
