The good bits: - Adequate off road car parking Comfy bed Large room The less good bits:- No hot water for a shower in the morning, not even lukewarm - unforgiveable for a B&B not to have hot water Poor food hygiene - opened milk came out like runny yoghurt, food hygiene and quality control is the responsibility of Anvershiel House, not the guests. I replied to their invitation to write a review and mentioned the hot water and that I expected a partial refund.......nothing. As others have said, it's a glorified student hostel.

We went here with a large group of family members and were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves. Very comfortable rooms for everyone. The breakfast set up worked well for us to have a variety of choices to eat and felt comfortable. Easy walk to town

Our room was perfectly comfortable and location was OK for a walk into town. It is all self-service from check in, cold continental breakfast, make your own french press coffee, bussing your dishes, etc. after breakfast, check out. I didn't enjoy that the meats and cheeses were in store packaging in the refrigerator, which meant that everyone that was getting them was sticking their fingers in on the meats and cheeses. A tray with tongs would have been a more hygienic option. We've stayed at other bed and breakfasts with self-checkin, but have always seen the owners occasionally during our stay, and always at breakfast. The hospitality here was non-existent. Overall, an adequate stay. A bit overpriced compared to other full-service B&B's we have stayed at.

I booked this B&B because of the reviews. It seemed to be a quintessential Irish bed and breakfast. Not the case. They must have made recent changes. Pros: *Comfortable bed *Queen bed room was big *Nice furnishings and decor *Walking distance to the beach Cons: *Room smelled of smoke *My father's room felt like it was 85 degrees Fahrenheit upon arrival; had to problem solve ourselves because no one works on site. *No interaction with the hosts *The breakfast was grab and go items. One reviewer mentioned omelets. No, that's not the case. I visited Ireland in 2016 with my husband, and one of the best parts of the trip were the B&Bs. Yes, the attractions are fun, but it's places like these that define the Irish experience for travelers. I typically don't leave negative reviews, but I work hard for my money. We won't be back.

Lovely clean B&B. Room was big with shower ensuite. Breakfast was continental. Didn't have the best first impression. Despite arriving after check in time we couldn't get up the stairs due to a laundry basket on them and laundry strewn about. Would we stay again? No. It's too impersonal. We prefer interaction with the host and a cooked breakfast.

This B&B is so lovely. The attention to detail is superb. The owner is so friendly. We had a great stay. Continental breakfast with everything you could think off. Comfy beds, spacious room, free handy parking & 15 min walk into town. I would definitely recommend and we will return here again.

Spacious room and very clean. Our host gave us any information regarding the area we needed. Breakfast was lovely with a few different choices to standard breakfast. The omelettes were amazing and compliments to "The Omelette Lady" in the kitchen. All the staff were friendly and the house also has on site parking. A little further from the centre than we thought but a pleasant walk or taxis are reasonable.

The house was perfect The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable Breakfast included a great variety of foods and was delicious The beach was just minutes away walking and only a short drive to Dark Hedges and Giants Causeway and other castles I’d definitely recommend staying here

We were directed to Anvershiel by the Rick Steve’s guide. No disappointed one bit. The operators are phenomenal people. Extremely knowledgeable about the area and things to do, very accommodating, and the breakfast, while simple, was near the top of our list that we had during our trip. This place is a would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in Portrush.
