Cozy Resort

Wow where to start. Please avoid this place at all costs. We booked this place for 4 nights whilst traveling through Malaysia. We got engaged just a few days before and couldn't wait. On arrival we were shown to our room and it was absolutely disgusting. Mouse/rat droppings above mirror and cupboard, the ceiling paint was flaking off onto the floor and bed constantly, the floor was filthy and broken in places, the lampshades where so dusty and it was just one of the filthiest places we stayed during our month away. Even the beach area is covered with litter and it looks like a hurricane has just hit, such a shame as the oustanding beauty of the island is not reflected at all in this accommodation and site. We managed after a while back and forth to get the owner the agree to a refund (or so we thought) we have been back in the uk for a week now and they have stopped replying to my emails. *********** tell me the hotel is responsible for all refunds and they tell me there manager is on holiday and they will sort it out when she is back. Now they have changed there story and say that *********** will have to make the refund. Avoid at all costs please guys! Save your money and stay at Tuna bay instead which is where we went after we cancelled our booking on the first day!

Ms Yang runs a tight ship. If she is busy she will make time to assist guests. All staff are friendly and helpful. I booked 5mths in advance. I would never visit islands down the east coast without an advance booking. Hoping for a walk in can be unpredictable especially during high season. As much as I commend Cosy resort for allocating my room on the highest level I decided to decline given access was 3 flights of steep steps. I opted for a ground floor room only 15m to the restaurant and beach. My room was large and clean with a wardrobe and desk an chair. The aircon and fridge worked fine. No TV available due to an intended change to the signal system. I was advised this was applicable across the island. Probably P. Kecil as well. Online booking websites should be made aware rather than be allowed to continue advertising false information. No idea when it is fixed. Thete were two double beds with clean linens which provided a comfortable sleep apart from the loudspeaker noise from P. Kecil. Mu Umobile internet was problematic so I relied on the resort's wifi which can be inconsistent as well. The restaurant food was okay. For b'fast I tried the eggs and sausages but the sausages didn't excite me so I had omelettes on my other mornings. For dinner, in addition to the standard menu they offered BBQ seafood options. I had chicken curry (excellent), BBQ barramundi and Malay dishes. Fruit shakes are excellent. At night they placed tables and chairs out on the sand and this was very popular. Staff were kept busy at meal times. Prices are more expensive everywhere as everything has to be transported from the mainland. I did also dine at the nearby Tuna Beach r Resort for my western food fix. Like most accom. they can arrange snorkel trips, transport back to the mainland as well as massage (male) and transfer to Redang island (if operating). They could improve their facilities by having comfortable sunloungers with umbrellas on the sand but maybe it's not permissable. Overall, I had a comfortable stay but was annoyed I prepaid for a room with a TV which I never got to enjoy.

Bij aankomst direct onaangenaam verrast. We hadden een beach chalet geboekt, echter is dit een kamer boven het restaurant met uitzicht op de zee. (En op het naastgelegen verlaten en vervallen resort vol met afval). De kamers zijn beschimmeld, er zitten gaten in het plafond waar regenwater doorheen komt. De kamers zitten vol met ongedierte(muggen, mieren, wormen) Er ligt een bizar dikke laag met stof op de airco en lampen. In de koelkast staat een laag met water en deze stinkt enorm. De eerste kamer die we kregen was zo hevig smerig dat we hebben gevraagd om een andere, die we kregen had minder gaten in het plafond maar aan iedere vorm van hygiëne ontbrak. De douche geeft alleen koud water. Het hout van de plinten is verrot, wat een onaangename geur en beestjes met zich mee brengt Wij hebben 1 nacht van de 4 geboekte nachten hier geslapen en nadien direct omgeboekt naar het iets verder op gelegen beach box. Wat de beste keuze bleek te zijn die we tot nu toe maakten. Het eten bij cozy is oke. Ze serveren iedere avond een bbq. En het personeel is vriendelijk.
