Insotel Punta Prima Resort

Beautiful views of the bay, rooms basic but all you need to enjoy the resort, fantastic water pressure in the shower. Rooms were cleaned daily, and fresh towels given. The resort was amazing the pools were fantastic, activities were great for the children aged 7 and 10… the evening theatre bar had great entertainment and was a great place for making friends for the kids, while the adults had fun too. The food was amazing all you could ask for, And so well presented everyday a different selection at dinner. Staff always happy and keen to help. Would definitely recommend. It’s only downfall were some of the grounds were a little untidy, with weedy areas around the patio area outside the rooms and muddy trodden grass edges where the watering system had come on and been stepped in and run across multiple times by the busy staff buggies.

If you have an early flight, be aware that you won't be able to check into your room until 3 PM. We arrived at 10:30 AM with our 10-year-old and 5-year-old, and this was a nightmare since we weren't informed of this policy before booking. Had we known, we would have packed clothes in our carry-on to accommodate the inconvenience. Additionally, having only one person at reception for 30 people checking in is unacceptable. This resort is not 5-star quality. I've stayed at plenty of 5-star resorts, and this is not one of them. The buffet setup is unpleasant, loud, and resembles a factory canteen, although the food is decent. The food at the daytime stations is very good and enjoyable. However, we could only book two theme restaurants throughout our stay, which were also decent. The lower pool is extremely busy, with towels being put out as early as 5-6 AM every morning. The spa pool and the shipwreck pool were the saving graces of the holiday, as our kids loved them. Regarding our room, I paid extra for a sea view with private loungers. Unfortunately, there was black mold on the ceiling and water leaking from the air conditioner. This should have been checked before we were allowed to take the room. Additionally, we couldn't put any food down as ants were coming from behind the kitchenette area. Overall, it was an okay holiday but overpriced, despite the issues mentioned above. Punta Prima is beautiful, and the pizzeria by the big anchor is the best restaurant—we ate out most nights as we couldn't face the buffet area. We Will be returning to Minorca but not to this hotel.

This resort is lovely. The site is immense so there is a fair bit of walking to do up and down hill. It is very clean, the staff are helpful and friendly, the activities and entertainment team are great. The different pools, slides and splash areas give a great choice for kids (including big kids!) The room was clean and comfortable. There could be a bit more signage around for toilets and in the dining areas the tags weren't always with their correct food or there at all. It is a short walk down to the beach in Punta Prima and a 20 minute bus ride to Mahon (€1.8 each). With it being on a hill/slope you get lovely views of the sea and lighthouse. I would recommend the resort and I would definitely go back. Lovely place!

The entertainment and activity team made this holiday 5 stars. There was always quality entertainment in the evening for both children and adults. Plenty to do during the day everyday for all - water polo, football, darts, archery, water gym and many more. Staff were exceptional and went out of their way to speak to us. We were never bored throughout the day as they always kept us up to date with what was happening

The hotel is amazing. This was our third time going and we will be sure to go back again. The staff are so hardworking and put in so much effort especially at insi club. The ladies at the club are truly the best, especially Nicole and Camilla, they are truly the life and soul of the club. Also the shows in the evening are a good way to wind down, Mr Samuele and the team give everything into making the end of every night, something to remember

Just back from 10 days at the hotel. It’s a spread out resort hotel in very good condition and near the airport. Set on a slope down to the beach so lots of walking up and down hill - no bad thing. You get a view of the sea from most parts of the resort. We had a two bedroom room which was excellent. Air conditioning worked very well and quietly along with the ceiling fans. Nice pools with three pools of different depths at the bottom of the hill and more of a swimming pool at the top. Food was fine - what you’d expect at an all inclusive. A nice touch was that the waiting staff still served the drinks to your table at the buffet restaurant and the drinks were of a higher quality than what we normally get at an all inclusive. Not so much of a scrum compared to other buffet restaurants I’ve been to. The ‘a La carte’ restaurants were fine too. Not particularly special but nice to mix it up. Beach and local shops about 10 mins away. Nice sandy beach but a bit too much seaweed for my liking. Entertainment Team worked hard and generally reached a decent standard with their evening shows which filled a really huge bar / theatre space. Could always get a seat if not a decent view. Three points for improvement: 1. The poor air conditioning in the bar / theatre (and to a degree in the buffet restaurant). People brought hand fans to the shows in an attempt to stop sweating 2. The sun lounger bagging. They say they enforce a no reserving sun lounger policy but don’t. Nearly all are reserved by 7:30 in the morning at the main pools. Fortunately the pool at the top of the resort is quieter (albeit quite deep for less confident swimmers) 3. While the staff were all pleasant and helpful, we rarely felt like ‘customers’ in the way that we would do at a regular (rather than all inclusive) setting. By that I mean nearly everything had to be asked for, rather than offered; it clearly wasn’t second nature for members of staff to stand aside to let guests take priority when walking around etc. A good holiday. Don’t think we’ll be back.

Just back from the hotel and there are bits that need improving which I’ll touch on first. On arrival when tired and half asleep you need to sort your tourist tax. This means it takes ages and we queued for nearly an hour, not great with young children. In Italy we left our passport and could go back to pay the tax anytime during the week, much better. The rooms are a little dated but I must say clean and housekeeping work incredibly hard. Beds were comfy and we slept well. Wi-Fi doesn’t work ( well not for me anyway ). We had an issue with the shower leaking - but all credit to reception and maintenance who resolved this quickly as soon as we reported it. The pools are great, we used to start at the top pool, then hit the slides and splash pad then down onto the bottom pool for some games and sunbathing. All very clean and well kept. Food - all inclusive is never going to please everyone but when comparing to other hotels this delivered. Every evening there was a good range of salads / breads / fresh pizzas. There seemed to be an international corner, sushi, Italian meats, cheeses ( lovely ). Hot food yes I agree sometimes there weren’t food labels but it was usually obvious what it was. Breakfast was ample , cereal, pastries, fruits, cooked breakfast, pancakes, waffles etc Ice creams available by the pools, cocktails / cava / wine were all on par with other hotels. Kids corner for the little ones, chicken goujons and sausages went down well ! Entertainment team work hard, we didn’t go ever night but the moulin rouge / dancing was great. We’ve had an amazing holiday and for anyone due to go you will have a lovely relaxing time. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Only 20 mins from the airport in a taxi to the hotel, we were welcomed with a drink and a smile. Our room wasn't quite ready, which was ok, and we received a phone call 30 minutes later. The apartment was basic and clean, had everything we needed. The resort is really clean and tidy and there are plenty of pools scattered around the resort they are also really clean but cold. Once you are swimming, though, it is OK, and the kids don't care at all. The splash park and slides etc are great, there is a park with zip wires etc, you can play alsorts of games - table tennis, football, badminton, tennis etc, there is yoga outside, aqua aerobics, entertainment in the evenings. There is plenty to do for everyone. The food as some people have said could do to be hotter, there were a couple of times my food was warm as opposed to hot, but I still ate it. The only concern for me was the chicken- cubed pieces of pork and chicken which were pink inside, so I kept away from those dishes. There is plenty of choice for everyone and the kids can help themselves from the kids food area. If you ask for a glass of wine they do give you a bottle!! Be warned :) The beach is a 5 min walk from the resort, it is ok, not the biggest or nicest looking, as it had some brown stuff around it, which looked to me like shavings from the palm trees (bark). We stayed by the pool, but explored around the area. During the evenings there are some market stalls that set up and have some pretty things. The resort is well catered for and pretty spread out. For me personally I think I would prefer to stay in a hotel as opposed to a resort like this again, but that is just my opinion. I found that if you wanted snacks from the bars/restaurants that you had to ask, I think there should be snack menus freely around so people can see. You can help yourself to drinks/ice creams/slushys/hot dos/sandwiches. The splash park closes at 5pm, entertainment starts at 8.30pm. You need to pay the country tax when you check in, for us as a family of 4 was 68 euros, pool towel deposit 20 euro each and I cant remember what the safe was but you getbit all refunded (apart from the safe) when you check out. No problems for us at the resort. I would definitely recommend it, lovely people - kind and accommodating - just wish we had longer than a week.

It was our first family vacation with our 5 year old. And everything was fantastic. The resort, food, pools, staff, activities, accomodation…we enjoyed every single day. Thank You very much Insotel, we have great memories. We will be back for sure
