Hotel 3 Bintang di Rennes

Situé très proche de la gare et donc du métro, l'hôtel est idéalement situé. Pour avoir dormit dans certains campaniles ont est plus sur le standing d'un Ibis style que d'un campanile ”classique” donc une bonne surprise. Rien à dire sur la chambre et la literie qui était très bien. Aucun bruit ou nuisance à signaler. C'est donc un sans fautes pour un prix raisonnable.

We stayed here for three nights after arriving in Paris, travelling directly from Charles de Gaulle airport by train (TGV). Getting to the hotel was straightforward. From the train station, cross Place de la Gare and then walk straight along Avenue Jean Janvier. The hotel is easily spotted once the junction with Rue Jean Marie Duhamel is reached (avoid Google maps and Apple maps; they gave less direct routes and different to each other). The hotel room was on the small side (for which we were prepared) but it was not an issue; the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was also good. There is a nice courtyard which guests may use as well. The staff were helpful and friendly, with particular thanks to one receptionist who was on duty for most of our stay. The location of the hotel was convenient for both the station and the city centre. We had a couple of good meals at L’Épe de Blé, across from Place de la Gare. If we to visit Rennes again, we would certainly use this hotel.

Modern new hotel right next to the south entrance of Rennes Station. Room quiet and comfortable, even if furnishing and decoration a bit basic. Nice shower and good Internet. Decent breakfast, and apparently possible to order room meals or drinks if you want. There is a rather soulless bar area near reception, though not sure how this would be organised in non covid times

Un hôtel certes bien placé mais à l’insonorisation inexistante tel et si bien qu’on peut profiter du bruit des bus jusqu’à tard dans la soirée et des scooters ou des jeunes qui se réunissent tard dans la nuit. Les chambres sont ridiculement petites, en poussant la chaise contre le mur, il faut se faufiler pour passer entre le lit et la chaise. La douche plutôt archaïque a droit à une notice pour vous expliquer comme l’utiliser tant elle n’est pas du tout ergonomique. Il y avait un bruit parasite de ventilation plutôt désagréable qui venait s’ajouter au boucan devant la gare. La chambre est tellement petite qu’il nous est arrivé de nous cogner contre la paroi vitrée de la salle d’eau en se levant du lit la nuit. Pas de bouteille d’eau en chambre comme ailleurs, on vous explique qu’il y a une fontaine à eau au rez-de-chaussée, c’est tellement pratique pour boire avant de se coucher. Enfin, il a fallu réclamer le petit bon pour la boisson de bienvenue. Sur 3 réceptionnistes présentes alors que nous étions les seuls au moment du checkin, on aurait pu se dire qu’au moins une connaissait les standards Accor pour l’accueil des membres All ? Bref nous y avons séjourné parce que nous prenions un train très matinal le lendemain matin. La chambre, chère payée pour le standing très en deçà duquel on pourrait s’attendre d’un Ibis Styles, ne nous laissait pas espérer une nuit ni un séjour mémorable dans cet hôtel sûrement très rentable mais peu recommandable pour renouveler l’expérience. De dire que le bâtiment est ancien est un doux euphémisme pour justifier la configuration et la taille exiguë des chambres mais n’excuse en rien l’insonorisation totalement inexistante quand on fait face à une gare, des arrêts de bus et une place ultra fréquentée le soir et la nuit. Si le timing n’était pas si court pour se rendre à la gare, nous aurions opté pour un autre hôtel Accor.

We come to Rennes about once a year. We usually chose this hotel to come to. We reserve the ‘apartment’ rooms they have right across the street. These are one bedroom apartments with a full kitchen. We love the space. We get all the amenities of a hotel room plus all the extras. As it is very common in these types of buildings, be beware that there are no elevators and you will need to carry your luggage up the stairs. The hotel side I believe does have an elevator. The staff is always super friendly, helpful and the rooms always immaculately clean. The location is absolutely perfect and within walking distance to everything, it use to be quieter than some other places we have tried - unless someone is making noise in the courtyard. On this trip it was on a nightly basis at 4am. I think it may have to do with the restaurant next door. (The bedroom is in the back and not on the street side). This is why I am giving it three stars. I was awaken every night by all the noise. Dumping garbage, rolling the garbage container, slamming the door etc…The other thing I really miss is the breakfast they use to deliver. It was in a basket and the jams were all homemade and delicious. Now days its more the industrial type products delivered in a paper sack. Maybe due to Covid…Unfortunately.

The hotel has two buildings that are about one block away from each other. The satellite (maybe newer?) building has no front desk staff. So when you need anything, including check in/out and store luggage, you'd have to walk (i.e. dragging your bags) for a block. While both buildings are about a block from the train station, you do need to walk more than two blocks if you are in the other building. Still, not too bad. The staff is professional and nice. The rooms are small but typical by European standards. Doesn't bother me much a a solo traveler without too much luggage. But the bathroom is so small that I can't sit straight on the toilet because it's too close to the wall. The buildings are old, but the interior seems to just gone through a complete renovation. Very modern and new, which is nice. Someone mentioned curtains. It actually has motorized shutters that completely shut off light. So dark that I almost overslept through my appointment. The trick is that it's controlled by a switch not very obvious. I needed a cleaning staff's help to find it. Breakfast costs 11 euros. Don't know what's like. Probably better off just go with the bakery next to the main building. The deal breaker is its terrible WiFi service. They use a browser log in service that can't seems to maintain connection. At times, I had to log back on every other minute! To be honest, I would consider they don't have a working WiFi service in that condition. I saw someone complained about it before. If they don't bother fix it, I will not stay there, period.

5 out of 5 The room and bathroom were spacious, there is ample storage space, two wardrobes and a safe (which is free to use) is in one wardrobe, there is even a hidden mini kitchen area. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was it has parking and for €10 it’s well worth it for peace of mind if you’ve got a car full of fishing gear, make sure you request parking when you book though. It’s in a great location, a nice bar called La Piste is at the end of the road but as you walk into the centre, which takes about 10 minutes, you pass many other cafes and bars. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only stayed for one night but you could definitely stay for longer.

We’ve had a very pleasant accommodation in the hotel. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the railway station and 10 minutes by foot from the city center. Everything was really good - the room was colorful and clean, the bed was quite big (I may assume that width of the bed is 200 cm), the staff was so nice and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty and had a lot of options. Coffee is free of charge during the whole day as well as croissants. Definitely recommended to stay in Rennes.
