Stayed for 4 nights, in 2 twin rooms, at the Doubletree Monti Rome. We loved the modern, updated hotel and its great location. We travelled to Rome by train and appreciated the 10 minute, gentle down hill walk from Termini Station. Upon check in we were greeted with warm smiles from the lovely staff. We were given in house dining/drink information and offered incredible advice for Rome restaurants. The rooms are quiet, stylish and well lit - and offer plenty of electrical plugs/USB ports. We appreciated having the small fridge to keep waters, drinks chilled. The bathroom was lovely with a great rain shower (good water pressure), fluffy towels (& wash cloths) and nice vanity amenities. Our visit coincided with a record breaking heat wave and temps feeling like the 110's/43+, so we had a challenge getting the rooms comfortable. We were in touch with the front desk staff and maintenance to help with the a/c and they were happy to assist - so don't hesitate to ask them. The hotel was happy to call ”legitimate” taxi's for us when needed and always provided a ”number” so we knew we were hopping in the right one. Even with the heat we did explore Rome by foot a good bit. The hotels location is 17 minutes from the Colosseum complex and about 20 or so minutes from the Trevi or Spanish Steps. We really enjoyed the in house dining/bar options at the Doubletree. Starting at 530pm, the MUN rooftop bar, has a friendly, welcoming staff and creative bartenders/drink options. They also spoil you with delicious, rotating, apertivo bites. We tried breakfast and dessert at Mamalia - great variety buffet in mornings. Our favorite spot was the MiT food & coffee brewery that is open from 8am-late afternoon. They offer wonderful fresh juices, delicious coffee/espresso drinks and the terrific options for lunch. Due to the heat we planned our tours for early mornings and so appreciated having this high quality, convenient option within our hotel. They offer delicious salads, fresh sandwiches and even a burger/fries and the staff was friendly, professional and efficient. Nearby dining recommended by the hotel staff - Osteria Il Riposto for delicious, reasonably priced pastas, salads, bruschetta. Also had wonderful meals at Tonarellla and La Tavernetta 29 in Trastevere and Mariuccia not far from the Pantheon. Grazie to the staff of the Doubletree Monti Rome.
