Stayed for 4 nights, in 2 twin rooms, at the Doubletree Monti Rome. We loved the modern, updated hotel and its great location. We travelled to Rome by train and appreciated the 10 minute, gentle down hill walk from Termini Station. Upon check in we were greeted with warm smiles from the lovely staff. We were given in house dining/drink information and offered incredible advice for Rome restaurants. The rooms are quiet, stylish and well lit - and offer plenty of electrical plugs/USB ports. We appreciated having the small fridge to keep waters, drinks chilled. The bathroom was lovely with a great rain shower (good water pressure), fluffy towels (& wash cloths) and nice vanity amenities. Our visit coincided with a record breaking heat wave and temps feeling like the 110's/43+, so we had a challenge getting the rooms comfortable. We were in touch with the front desk staff and maintenance to help with the a/c and they were happy to assist - so don't hesitate to ask them. The hotel was happy to call ”legitimate” taxi's for us when needed and always provided a ”number” so we knew we were hopping in the right one. Even with the heat we did explore Rome by foot a good bit. The hotels location is 17 minutes from the Colosseum complex and about 20 or so minutes from the Trevi or Spanish Steps. We really enjoyed the in house dining/bar options at the Doubletree. Starting at 530pm, the MUN rooftop bar, has a friendly, welcoming staff and creative bartenders/drink options. They also spoil you with delicious, rotating, apertivo bites. We tried breakfast and dessert at Mamalia - great variety buffet in mornings. Our favorite spot was the MiT food & coffee brewery that is open from 8am-late afternoon. They offer wonderful fresh juices, delicious coffee/espresso drinks and the terrific options for lunch. Due to the heat we planned our tours for early mornings and so appreciated having this high quality, convenient option within our hotel. They offer delicious salads, fresh sandwiches and even a burger/fries and the staff was friendly, professional and efficient. Nearby dining recommended by the hotel staff - Osteria Il Riposto for delicious, reasonably priced pastas, salads, bruschetta. Also had wonderful meals at Tonarellla and La Tavernetta 29 in Trastevere and Mariuccia not far from the Pantheon. Grazie to the staff of the Doubletree Monti Rome. We look forward to returning to Rome, staying with you again! and recommending your property to family, friends and colleagues.

As part of our ongoing Europe trip, I stayed with my aunt and my friend for 4 nights; we booked 2 rooms, our bed looked like a double but was 2 single joined so it was great for me and my aunt as we separated the beds. The hotel had good amenities - private bathroom was huge although for some reason the lights would just turn off randomly? I don't know if it was just our room or everyone else's. The swimming pool is only opened in the summer!! so it was closed for us, which was sad. The staff was really nice and they gave us extra blankets, coffee machine and a kettle when we asked for it! Really appreciated their help and trust me there was so many large groups always arriving at this hotel so they were doing amazing. We paid for dinner once and a breakfast. Dinner was hit or miss - I loved my Chicken salad, but the others weren't impressed with the burgers they had but breakfast was definitely better. I think the star was the beans because wow they were good. The only major cons about the stay was that our room was located right next to the elevator (same as Florence) and it was noisy all morning and late at night, plus some construction at like 8am ish so please if you can, ask for a faraway room! Also the distance from the city centre was quite tiring, yes it is only 23 mins metro from the Torre Angela station but an 11 mins walk from the station to the hotel and with our suitcases and the station exit not having any elevators, it was hard work. To get to the hotel side, you need to first go down the stairs, then up the stairs and go down again so if you are walking from the station to the hotel, be prepared!

A fantastic location. In walking distance of the Trevi fountain and the colosseum. Also very close to a nice selection of restaurants and convenience shops. The WiFi was ok. It sometimes very briefly dropped out. The shower was a bit weird as it would cycle through cold, warm, and hot. The A/c was ok. We had it on 19 and it kept the room an ok temperature. In Rome A/C in hotels is often bad so this was probably better than most. The staff were excellent! Often hotel staff in Rome can be a bit sullen and not so helpful but the staff at the Hive were excellent and very helpful. They gave us a late checkout as we needed time before our flight. The restaurant on the roof is gourmet so it is more expensive than other restaurants nearby BUT you get some beautiful food. If you ask at reception they may have a 20% discount voucher for hotel guests.

This was our second time in Best Western hotel Universo. Location is perfect: very close to the central railway station Termini and to metro stations, in 15 minutes walk to Colosseum/Forum and 5 minutes to magnificent churches like Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Prassede. Room is clean and relatively spacious, about 20 sqm including the bathroom united with the toilet. Everything works. Minor fault of the building is insufficient sound insulation. When some clients started a booming discussion at 01.30 PM on 28.05.2024, the sleep did not come easy. The breakfast is very good especially compared with other Roman hotels we’ve visited before – you eat tasty and recognizable foods – ham, cheese, bread. The stuff is friendly but occasionally bring informational mistakes like giving an expert opinion on time-tables of the trains, not corresponding to the reality. Summary: a nice hotel and we shall come back (4 of 5, but all of us are not immaculate)

Very near to Roma Termini Station and a few main tourist spots, we walked most of the time without using any public transports. It also gave us the opportunity to explore the city by walking, which was great!

The best hotel I have ever been, the bed is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on, the breakfast is amazing, everything so good and fresh, the Spa is to die for, i had a massage aswell and it was very good, they also give free products in the fridge for you which is a bonus, very clean, the position is amazing not far from town center, I wish I could go back now. Big should out to ever employees, always with a smile, always nice, nothing is too much of a problem, thank you for making this experience for me so effortless

Room was small, very small in fact. Turn to the left is the bathroom and the right is the bed area. However the room is well kept and clean. There are bath amenities available and breakfast was average. Location is very good as it js near to 2 metro - termini and republicca.

Stayed here for 3 nights, never felt like staying in a 4* in any way. The only good things about the hotel were its location and some options for breakfast. During my stay, I never felt welcome here. No one even had the courtesy to even say 'good morning' or 'welcome'. This was probably one of the places where the reception staff is equally rude and cold as the restaurant staff. What kind of 4* hotel restaurant has a single coffee machine which servers one cup at a time ? Or a single toaster which can toast only one bread at a time ? What kind of 4* hotel doesn't have an electric kettle in the room ? When asked for a kettle, the reception staff throws terrible attitude at you like ”Do you know it is not included in your package ? Ok, let me think about doing this as a favour for you”. Wi-Fi was terrible most of the time. I would recommend not to throw money by staying here, there are many better options around.
