Hotel Helios

This is not a four star hotel. It is at best a fair three stars. The good: the location is convenient, it is clean and well air-conditioned, and (at least some of) the rooms have enormous balconies with great views. But the rooms are small and dated, the entire hotel needs to be renovated, and the staff were not friendly. The vibe is not great at this place. I would not recommend staying here unless the price can’t be beat.

Fantastic stay in Santa Margherita at Hotel Helios . Room was always spotless (serviced twice daily)and spacious with an amazing terrace to take in the spectacular views of the Ligurian coast . Breakfast fare and the service was also excellent . Their barman and cocktail mixing extraordinaire Georgio was such a delight to deal with and boy was he good at his job . The beach club seats , included in the room cost , was well run and the option of the pool and the sea for swimming was super enjoyable . It was such a relaxing enjoyable stay and we will be checking out Hotel Helios next time we stay in Santa Margherita

This is hotel for lovers of everything Italian. The hotel is quite old but the rooms are very acceptable, everything you need. If you stay in a sea view room on the 1st floor, they come with an enourmous terrace for sunbathing, dining, drinking etc. All parts of the hotel are spotlessly clean and bed linen was changed regularly during our 10 day stay. Breakfast is plentiful continental style in the breakast room overlooking the sea. The hotel Bagni is superb with sunbeds/deckchairs, umbrellas and cabins if you want them. You have the choice of salt water pool or sea for a refreshing dip and there are plenty of showers and toilets as required. Particular mention must be made of the hotel staff, reception, breakfast, housekeeping and on the Bagni who were all so warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Mostly Italian guests means you will get a great feel of an "Italian Vacanza". We have been several times and see so many that we have seen previously. A great place to stay.

Finally able to travel again we returned to this hotel after 6 years to find it’s just as good even though it changed hands in 2020. All staff in reception, housekeeping, restaurant and beach are delightful. Rooms spotless with bed linen changed regularly and towels etc changed twice a day. The first floor rooms with a large terrace are fabulous with views across the bay towards Portofino . Breakfast good with plenty of choice. Beach area brilliant with great facilities. Only ate in the restaurant once as there are so many to choose from in the town, but it was very good. Hotel seems to suit people of all ages and has that great Italian vibe. Will be back

Best pool on the coast! We had a fantastic stay in gorgeous surroundings! Rooms were comfortable with cold A/C. We had lunch, breakfasts, and drinks at the hotel bar & restaurant- which were all good - and with the best view! Location was perfect to walk to dinner, gelato, water ferry, shopping etc. Parked & didn't touch car for entire stay. Water ferry to other towns is nearby. Staff was helpful and kind. Highly recommend this hotel. Would stay again.

The most stunning view overlooking the bay of Sants Margherita, right on the water, nestled in the midst of town. Great facilities, an excellent pool area with an abundance of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Breakfasts offered a good variety of eggs, meats, cheeses and pastries. The high point of our stay was the friendliest staff we have experienced in a long time, from the front desk, to the servers, to housekeeping. This is your place to stay.
