Ich war als Tagesgast Teilnehmer eines Seminares, daher kann ich die Übernachtungsmöglichkeitrn nicht bewerten. Das Gebäude scheint eine Generalüberholung hinter sich zu haben, es ist alles sehr neu, edel und modern. Die Dame, welche offensichtlich für unser Seminar verantwortlich war erschien außergewöhnlich freundlich und gut strukturiert. Der Tagungsraum war hell, sauber und ausreichend groß. Das Catering zu den gebuchten Pausen war lecker, abwechslungsreich und mittags/abends Büffet. Auch hier sehr lecker und viel Auswahl. Zum Abendessen erschienen genug junge Kellner. Etwas ungewollt wirkte das Lichtspiel in der großen Empfangshalle. Hell/ dunkel und final rot-orange… schwierig… Passend zu der fragwürdigen, roten Beleuchtungsfarbe teilten sich die beiden rezeptionisten kurzzeitig einen Stuhl neben- oder vielmehr aufeinander. Dies schien mir nicht sehr angemessen für diese Art etablissement. Der Abend endete in der Schönen großen Hotelbar. Hier gibt es keinen Kritikpunkt.

Erst einmal ist es für ”traditionelle” Menschen wie mich ungewöhlich, wenn es keine Rezeption gibt. Das Ein- und Auschecken hat aber auch ohne Smartphone problemlos geklappt. Man bekommt ein schönes und für den Preis sehr angemessenes Zimmer. Für das heisse Wetter kann das Hotel nichts. .................................................... - Minuspunkte Der Fahrstuhl war kaputt - als ”Ersatz” wurde eine Flasche Wasser angeboten, für die aber nicht einmal ein Flaschenöffner vorhanden war. Die anderen Getränke, die es angeblich geben sollte, habe ich nicht gefunden. ................................................... + Pluspunkte Volle Punktzahl: Es gibt Möglichkeiten, Gepäck zu verstauen! Offensichtlich ist das heutzutage keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr. Im Koncept Hotel H2O gibt es nicht nur einen schönen Schrank mit Kleiderbügeln, sondern auch eine Nachtkommode und einen Glasschrank unter dem Schreibtisch. Vor ein par Monaten war ich in einem weitaus teureren angeblich ”trendigem” Hotel in Kiel, in dem es weder Schrank noch Kommode gab. Angeblich würden die Leute sowieso aus Koffern leben. In meinem Fall stimmt das schon einmal nicht: zum Ankommen gehört es für ich dazu, ein paar Sachen in den Schrank zu legen, umso mehr, wenn man ein paar Tage bleiben möchte. Das Hotel ist wirklich sehr zentral gelegen - zu den Bahngleisen geht man eine Minute. Direkt unter dem Hotel ist ein asiatisches Restaurant, das ich leider nicht beuchen konnte, die Speisekarte sah aber einladend aus.

We stayed at the Friendly Cityhotel Oktopus as a stop over on a long drive across Europe. We were towing a long glider trailer so parking was an issue. Some weeks before our journey, I e-mailed the hotel to ask if they could provide parking for a car towing a ten metre trailer. I got no response. Looking at Google maps, I could see that there was parking alongside the site so I went ahead and booked. When we arrived at the hotel, we parked by mistake in the cul de sac outside the front of the hotel. That presented a problem in turning the trailer. We found that the reception staff were polite and efficient but failed to go that extra mile. Eventually we parked on the school bus stop adjacent to the hotel. The school busses only run in the weekdays and we were for a Saturday night only. I had to ask for a ticket from the reception to park the car. None was offered. There was no restaurant open so we went down the road to a Vietnamese restaurant. I fancied a beer when I got back to the hotel but was firmly told that the bar closes at ten. The lady who was the night porter would not sell a drink. Again, not impressed. The room itself was a little strange. The double bed was extremely comfortable but was placed up against a wall so the person on the left of the bed had to crawl over the person on the right if they needed the loo or whatever in the night. Not ideal. Breakfast was okay with face coverings rigorously enforced. Check out was efficient and as expected. Would I stay there again? Very probably not. There was nothing actually terrible about the place but we both felt that they did the absolute minimum for their visitors.

Wir haben das Hotel gewählt, weil am Folgetag unser Flug vom Flughafen Köln-Bonn früh gestartet ist! Das Hotel liegt in Bahnhofnähe….Der Flughafen ist mit dem Zug in knapp 15 Minuten erreicht! Der Empfang im Hotel war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Unser Zimmer recht groß….das Bad hatte eine passende Größe. Wir haben ruhig und gut geschlafen. Ein Vorteil: schräg gegenüber ist eine Pizzeria….dort war es extrem lecker!

Anlässlich einer Trauerfeier hatten wir kurzfristig zwei Einzelzimmer gebucht. Überzeugend sind die zentrale Lage, die gute Parkmöglichkeit in der zum Hotel gehörenden Tiefgarage und das günstige Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Platzverhältnisse in der Garage sind auch für einen Mittelklassewagen eng, der Raum ist sehr gut ausgeleuchtet, sodass das Rangieren nicht schwer fällt. Beiden Einzelzimmer waren sauber, zweckmäßig eingerichtet und ausreichend groß. Guter Schlafkomfort in den Betten. Kleines zweckmäßig ausgestattetes Bad. Ausreichendes, gutes Frühstücksangebot, freundliches Personal.
