Our stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. With an outside temperature of several degrees minus, we were glad to find our room well warmed up upon arrival. The room was really clean, the beds comfortable and the host friendly and helpful. We recommend this as an ideal stay to explore the Great Wall section of Jinshanling, especially as the entrance is just a 5-minutes walk away.

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! The owner and his family are very welcoming and always pleased to help. He came to pick us up from the train station and helped us to get some food and other necessities for the following day. The room is fabulous! Very modern, spacious and clean, and the shower is an absolute dream. It’s only a couple of km from the main entrance of the Jinshanling Great Wall section. His wife is an excellent cook so you can enjoy a delicious meal before or after your trek on the Wall. He also speaks very good English so communication is easy and fun! I highly recommend 🥰

this was an amazing find !! we got a free upgrade during our stay to a beautiful room that overlooked the great wall, only something i could imagine in dreams😊 highly recommend, they also serve home cooked food downstairs which was so delicious! and a very good price compared to those nearby, as it is very remote this was a very peaceful stay, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, thank you 🙏

Host was super friendly and very hospitable. Started off by waiting for us outside the homestay awaiting our arrival @ 12 am at night. Drove us to and from Jinshanling. Also drove us out to beijing for another hour. Very knowledgeable and shared with us the history of the Great Wall too. Would definitely come back here on my next visit. Thank you! 😁

The Hotel is located at a busy central road. Lots of shops around and a good popular grocery store. The staff is welcoming and helpful as it can be. 5 stars. The room is small but okay. The bed is comfortable like most chinese beds. The bathroom is super tiny and had some plumbing problems also the grey water from the shower runs across the floor to the sink, bear in bind when you put dowm a towel for your feet. The light in all rooms is very dark and everything in the room was laying under a urine smell caused by the aircon. That's the reason we would not stay here again. The breakfast is great but the room is too small to fit all guests, so it gets super busy. Plus point: you can tale your bicycle to the rooms.

The location of the guest house is just perfect,only 10 minutes walk from the mid entrance of the great wall. From there you can explore the Wall walking east and it’s the best,very few people. But the best thing about the accomodation is the sweet family managing it! The food is just delicious,with huge portions and big choice! The lady also gave me a big help to find a good taxi to go back to Gobeikou. Especially when you travel solo it’ is really nice to see such big smiles and help! I can only recommend it!

We started our Great Wall walk at the north gate in gubeikou. This guest house was very convenient for that. Gubeikou is a lovely village with a shop and a few restaurants. The owners met us from the taxi and took us to our room. Room very clean and warm. We were hungry and they made us homemade dumplings, very tasty. Nice shower. Kept our bags while we walked the wall to jingshaling and returned the next day to get train back to Beijing

We stayed one night at Jinshanling Hanting B&B, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the Great Wall. It’s the perfect spot to catch both sunrise and sunset; the wall opened at 5 a.m. when we visited in early November. Breakfast was included, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We’d definitely recommend staying overnight for the better light and calmer atmosphere instead of doing a day trip. There’s also a great café nearby. To find the place: walk to the entrance gate, turn right, and it’s on the right side after about 30–50 meters.
