Large stately hotel. the hotel also has residences which means less hotel guests and traffic (in a good way). i generally look for hotels with pools and saunas attached and the pool area has was beautiful was outdoor patio with view of alps and lakes. Lockers, robes and slippers provided. i had room #205 which had peekaboo view of lake and mainly a rooftop, I suspect City View rooms would be noisy with busy road in front. book lake view if possible. the front staff was lovely and very helpful. They were very accommodating in trying to sort out my room. I could have been made to move after the 1st night but to their credit - saw it was easier to keep me in the same room. restaurant and bar with outdoor seating looking out towards lake and promenade. Heavenly!

We stayed in the addition called Guest House Rösi and had a suite of 2 rooms, one of which housed the 2 parents and 2 children and the other one which I, as the grandmother, occupied. We were on the 3rd floor and had great views of the neighborhood and a small roof garden. There was a second outside door which we could close and make our 2 rooms into a suite. This was very handy. I enjoyed my privacy, but of course, the other 4 had a more crowded situation. The children took advantage of the pool, and after a long overseas flight, this was a boon. Although the hotel is older, I appreciated the charm and central location. My son was miffed, however, that the first clerk we spoke with did not give him a pass that would have cut our parking lot cost in half. We later found out that it should have been offered.

Le quartier est sympa, proche de tout. Mais je déconseille cet hôtel! Le prix est exorbitant compte tenu des infrastructures et de l'absence de services. Parking public à proximité (75.- pour 4 jours), pas de petit déjeuner, une bouteille d'eau plate en arrivant à 5.-, chambres vieillottes avec des tâches partout, des draps recousus, des moisissures dans la douche, interdiction de manger en chambre (pas pratique du tout avec les enfants petits...). Et j'étais au 3ème étage (sans ascenseur) avec 2 enfants en bas âge, autant dire que c'est pas une partie de plaisir de faire en haut en bas avec les enfants et la poussette... Un point positif tout de même, les femmes de chambre passent tous les jours et quand j'ai signalé un problème de tv, ça a été réglé le matin même. Mais le prix est vraiment trop cher pour ce que c'est. Dommage

PPatrickAs as Swiss, I never travelled much inside Switzerland. I am usually travel around in Asia, like Japan, Thailand, Taiwan. So I was seriously shocked how low quality the Swiss Hotels are. Besides this I was also in Interlaken, and have to say the hotels are mere Motel standard at a price tag from 300-500$ for 15m² not even clean.
And it's not only this Hotel, many others around I had Lunch or Dinner are in such bad condition
But to the ”Art Deco” Montana...
The best part is at the beginning. Reaching the entrance by a Cogwheel Car, is great, the lobby is nice as well and the terrace with lake view is beautiful.
But then, comes the issue, the price changed, the day of the check in was 180$ cheaper for the same room than when I booked it. We didn't get any compensation which i didn't expect i Switzerland anyways, still a bit disappointed. But ok... off to the hotel room. The pictures prepared me to not have too much expectations but, the reality is just so heartbreaking worse.
I stayed in cheap hotels for 80$ in China or Thailand with same standard.
The Dyson Hairdryer didn't save the impression.
We were the first 30 minutes really depressed, sitting on the bed full of regrets going to lucerne.
It's all so cheap made for that price.
Well, we recovered and left the hotel for travel.
But bottom line, the cheapest hotels in Switzerland are barely worse than the range from 400-600$ like the Montana.
If wanna luxury, better opt for those instagram famous Hotels for 1200$ +
Anything else is all the same low standard.
Side Note: In Switzerland 3-4 Stars Hotel Minibar is not free.

WWander50017749501The hotel deserves a perfect score! And the staff from Reception to Bolero restaurant a 6 our of 5! The friendly and informative greeting we received at check-in was superb. The bus tickets for Kriens/Pilatus is included for all guests and close by. The receptionist went even as far as walking us to the parking we had reserved (22CHF/day--worth it). We had room number 611 with a bay window on the top floor and it was very comfortable. They thought of everything from coffee machine to all small details a traveler might need. The location is very central!

KKovelaLocation is good very near the train station and attractions. Staff is very friendly and the room is big enough to open 2 luggage on the floor. however they don’t top up used amenities.

We stayed at Hotel Krone Luzern for four nights. The location is great, right in the old town and close to restaurants, bars, cafes, and a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly, even giving us tips for watching the New Year’s Day fireworks at the lake. We ate breakfast at the hotel three times. The food selection was limited but okay. Our room was big and clean, but there was no heater or air conditioning. Despite staying during the winter, we still had to open the windows to cool down the room as it got a bit too warm at night, which meant noise from the street and early morning garbage trucks disturbed our sleep. Also, the body wash/shampoo in the bathroom wasn’t refilled, leaving us short by the end of our stay. The WiFi was really bad unless we stood near the door, which was quite inconvenient. Overall, the hotel's location is a big plus, but the issues we faced, especially with noise and WiFi, were downsides.

Receptionists are kind enough.
Nothing special than other hostels which is the good part. There were 4 out of 6 people in the room.
The location is about 10 minutes away from the main station so if you have lots of luggage, you should be aware of it.
They said they have a hair dryer in the bathroom but it doesn't and it required me to deposit a certain amount of money to get a private one at the reception.
They didn't notice that to me when I checked in. So I was extremely confused until I got the idea.

1 night stay before flight in Zurich.
Easy Walk to old town for the main attractions. Easy walk to train station. Luzern(city view) vibes completely different from the mountain towns of Zermatt & Grindelwald.still prefer God's mountain creation to man made buildings.

AAdventurous Horse RiderThe location is a bit far from the bus station and it’s a bit secret. There are no photos of the Internet found on the Internet because it’s just an apartment but not a formal hotel. There is no front desk and we had to call for the host for a check in. I’d rather recommend you to stay at a hotel instead.
