We are just about to leave after 6 nights here and we have loved every day. I had booked this online with lots of emails back and forward with Rababe on Reception. We finally met her and she is a beautiful, professional young woman. So helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Marco the Direttore welcomed us to his hotel and we also saw him most days at breakfast. We had Jennette, Francesa and Tania look after us each day and always with lovely smiling faces. Our rooms were excellent and Olga did a great job keeping them clean with everything we wanted. The Hotel is in the best location, great selections for breakfast and they even have welcome drinks and nibbles. We throughly recommend the Ancora hotel and we will definately tell all of our family and friends in Western Australia and hope to get back here one day. Thank you for a great stay.

I enjoyed my stay at hotel Ancora a lot. Hotel is situated in the heart of the town, fronting the lake. Building is nicely renovated. Kind and helpful staff. I booked a premium room with balcony and lake view, which was amazing. It was loud though as the road between hotel and lake is busy. Breakfast was also fine. I recommend this hotel to other guests!

Whenever we've reviewed this hotel, whether on Booking or to friends, we keep repeating the sentence "Everything was perfect" and this sums it up quite well. The service from each staff member was impeccable. We had booked a deluxe room with balcony and the first room we recieved was modern, with a balcony on a lower floor. We talked to the receptionist about switching rooms so that we'd have a balcony higher up and they quickly arranged this and moved our bags for us. We stayed in two different deluxe rooms with balcony and both were just like we'd imagined, with incredibly comfortable beds, great AC, a coffee machine, and housekeepers with incredible attention to detail. The staff was able to provide vegan alternatives for breakfast on short notice and we were very pleased with the buffet and its pricing. The cool welcome drink was amazing after a long trip. Few reviews I've seen mention the table of snacks provided in the lobby, but this is such a great touch. The location is great, just a three minute walk from the ferry station in Intra, with restaurants and bars right next to the building.

While the hotel is well-located right on the lake, is in excellent condition, and the breakfast choices are terrific, the best thing about Hotel Ancora is the staff. Super friendly and responsive to your needs. Not so many places will custom-make a cappuccino for you - these folks do. And service with a smile!

The Benchmark by which all hotels should be judged! There is nothing that can possibly be better than a stay at Hotel Ancora. From the minute you arrive until the minute you leave you feel like you are part of the Ancora family. The lovely reception staff, Marissa in particular is fantastic, Alberto so helpful. The breakfast is the best ever and the team that deliver the goods Tania and Jennette are wonderful. Balcony rooms give a great view and feel the buzz of Intra. Eating out - highly recommend Concordia just up the short lane at the side of the hotel (Ancora does not do evening meals, if they did we would have never left the hotel). Finally Magnificent Marco - totally in command of the whole Ancora operation - if you want anything he is the go to guy - nothing is a problem. He is a credit to the hospitality profession. If I win the lottery I will immigrate to Hotel Ancora :) Loved our stay, loved Hotel Ancora, loved all the staff, loved Intra and loved the lakes.

We visit Intra on a regular basis to catch up with family and have stayed at hotel Ancona on each of our last 4 visits. We keep coming back because each visit is such a pleasant experience. You can not get a better location overlooking the lakefront and near the ferry terminal and the main square. The rooms are generally a good size with all needs catered for. We normally stay in the apartments which are larger but cheaper than the lakefront rooms and more suited to a longer (7-10 day) stay. Even though these rooms don’t have a view themselves you can sit out on the front patio, overlooking the lake, for breakfast and in the early evening (or anytime you want). Breakfast is definitely a unique offering with fresh orange juice squeezing machine, blocks of chocolate, real honeycomb, as well as a good selection of more standard offerings. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and you see the manager at breakfast most mornings checking up on how things are going. Highly recommended and certainly better value than the bigger hotels in Stresa.

A few special comments about our hotel in Verbania, Italy. The Italians pay attention to the smallest details. Our room was so well appointed, with lots of storage, solid wood doors, wood floors - very modern. The railing on the staircase was a series of intertwined snakes. The breakfast was a buffet of just about anything you could possibly want to eat, including a real honey comb and an orange juicing machine you could operate yourself. It was fun feeding it oranges! We ate on the terrace each morning and enjoyed after dinner drinks there in the evenings. We had a great view of everyone coming and going from the ferries on Lago Maggiore. We are forever in love with Hotel Ancora and its incredible staff.

Friendly, very clean, great room & bathroom, lovely furnishings & great people offering plenty of helpful info, arranging taxis & going out of their way to make sure you have the best time. Breakfast is very good, food plentiful, fresh & with lots of choice. Wi-Fi is great & AC in the rooms is excellent. The front of the hotel which has fabulous views out over Lake Maggiore is positioned on a very busy, partially cobbled road. The noise from the road is constant so much so that you can’t have the windows open when you’re in the room or enjoy any time on the balcony. The best & most expensive rooms are sadly mostly impacted by the road noise. That said the triple glazed windows block out most of the noise & earplugs complete the job to enable a good nights sleep in comfortable beds with fresh crisp cotton sheets. Rooms at the rear may have little noise but no view. The hotel is in a good position a few steps from Intra ferry terminal, bus stops & many good bars & restaurants. There are many fantastic places to visit nearby and good links to those at greater distance.
