Arora Hotel

2* at best in winter - nothing is open until April/May to October locals informed me. I came based on excellent reviews not realising winter is a totally different experience. It's outdated throughout. Food & little beach - awful we did breakfast and dinner (imagine) and had minimal beach access so didn't bother. Restaurants/bars - 30-45 mins walk away and very poor location as nothing is local or accessible, I would say. No kids club or entertainment in winter so we occupied ourselves. Indoor pool is okay but no sauna working. Barely any guests too. Construction works happening next door as they're building other hotels I assume. Staff are nice but that's it personally. Just avoid and we won't be returning unfortunately. Better off staying in Antalya in winter. Its a shame but never again.

From the very moment we have entered the hotel, we were disappointed. The reception guy welcomed us with sandwiches as a dinner as we have came late. The room was a good size with the lovely view though. The breakfast was basic: bread, butter, jam, egg omelette just for the first day. The workers would come and have a breakfast. The spa facilities was nothing like on the photos. Lack of lighting like dungeon, yet again some men would come to use the pool and sauna. Turkish bath - I would never use it as I did not, it was very outdated and dirty. There was nothing to do in the hotel, nothing to entertain kids. There aren't any staff to do any massage or serve you with drinks. Overall, I would never recommend this hotel.

We were reluctant on coming to Arora after reading so many negative reviews and initially tried to change hotel, but all in all we’re glad we didn’t! Hotel is situated about 10 minutes outside kusadasi 8€ in a taxi into centrum of the Dolmus bus is 1€ The hotel itself was spotless rooms cleaned daily by very hard working ladies and very pleasant. Pool area continuously cleaned also. The pool is large but freezing! Small baby pool beside it and slide area with a pool. There is also a pool on the beach club however we didn’t use it. There was plenty of sun loungers every day at anytime so no rushing to get them. The rooms was small but we didn’t spend a lot of time in it, there was a bath and shower also in the room which was great with kids. The bar at the pool area was clean staff were friendly with minimal English, cocktail menus were great and we found the drink was nice. Food was your typical all inclusive but even for fussy eaters there was something for everyone kids never went hungry there was eggs for breakfast there was always chips chicken nuggets etc and a fabulous salad spread. Indoor pool was gorgeous and opened until 17.30 daily. I got a Turkish bath package for myself and my daughter when here and was really good value we also got blowdry treatments. Entertainment staff is the only thing that let the hotel down. There is a kids club in the corner of the pool it wasn’t opened at all there was no games or anything interactive for the kids at all no ice creams on all inclusive music been played around the pool was on/off and was local dance music.

I arrived around 23.30 at the hotel. They made me a sandwich, which was a nice gesture. Couldn't get any drinks though as the AI bar closes at 23.00 (or I had to pay). There was soup though. Bottled drinking water is not included! You get 1 bottle of 0,5L to get you started. You'll find big bottles in a shop ca 100m from hotel. You van fill up your bottle at the bar, but chances are you get the viruses from the previous user...not worth it. A lot of posters with the hotel rules; would be nicer if they would tell what you CAN do. You can get a beach towel from the spa (or bring your own to avoid the sales pitch). Safe in room very small and 5€ a night (usually 2€ in Turkey or even free). The guy at the reception first tried to charge me 7€ a night! It looks digital but works with a key. WIFI only in the lobby (if you're lucky). Food is OK for a 4* hotel in Turkey. You'll find something new every day, but in the end it all tastes the same. Nice variety of Turkish cheeses at breakfast though (not just the cheap melted cheeses as usual). Basic drinks at the bar. Wine tastes like homemade; fine for 2 days and then it starts to disagree with you. People at the bar and restaurant are friendly. A lot of cleaning and maintenance needed around the pool and the beach area. All days the same repetitive music around the pool. The beach is very small and is like a dirt corner. The beach bar area is very pleasant and offers a nice view. Afternoon snack area not really promoting your appetite. The mattresses of the sunbeds are cracked, so water gets in. You'll notice when your towel gets wet after a while... I had a room facing the new hotel they are building next door. Probably best to put a single person in such a room, otherwise you get two unhappy people... We had a school visiting the hotel which brought some animation to the hotel but also challenged the dinner service... (they DID get a room with a (sea)view).

Visited in late May 24 in the off season (kids all still at school) and was a little alarmed by some of the reviews but I needn’t have worried. The hotel is a little dated but considering what I paid, I was more than happy. Staff worked hard and were really friendly, drinks were AOK and there was plenty of food. Room was clean, plenty of hot water for the shower and clean towels nearly every day. I thought long and hard about what to write in this review as I did have a great time but here are some tips that others may find useful for this summer. There is a huge new hotel being built next door. It’s a little noisy but not too intrusive but best be aware. Take some mossie rep! Hotel located just off a large dual carriageway. Great for access to transport but there’s not a lot of entertainment around that area; if you want to go out for the evening it’s a few miles into Kusadasi which will involve a bus/taxi. My room overlooked the car park/building site/dual carriageway. Fine by me as I didn’t have the music and noise from the bar keeping me up late! Be sure to learn a few words of Turkish. Just the basics, please, hello and thank you helps enormously. If you are fussy with your food, this place is probably not for you . The food is Turkish on the whole and may not be to everyone’s taste. You’re not getting weetabix in the morning on this break! Like I said, considering what I paid, it met all my needs and I had a great time but if you go thinking ‘5 star’ you may be disappointed.
