Wir haben verschiedene Unterkünfte in Zagreb ausprobiert, aber das neueröffnete art‘otel Zagreb hat uns am besten gefallen. Es hat eine tolle, umhüllende Atmosphäre, auch dank der Freundlichkeit, Kompetenz und Präsens des Personals. Ein gelungenes Gestaltungskonzept - eine raffinierte Mischung von Design und Kunst -durchzieht konsequent das gesamte Hotel. Auch die Zimmer und Badezimmer (!). Einfach Super! Das reiche und frische Frühstücksbuffet, ergänzt durch ein Extramenü, ist toll angerichtet und wirklich sehr lecker. Zur Entspannung gibt es einen Spabereich mit Sauna und Pool ( den wir mehrmals genutzt haben ) und die Bar. Alles ist super sauber und gepflegt. In Kürze gibt es auch ein vielversprechendes Restaurant und eine Rooftop-Bar mit Blick auf Zagreb. Wie freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal!

As soon as we arrived the hotel. We were greeted by a friendly staff . We arrived early and they could manage to early check in for us . We need to wait for around half hour to have a room ready. We got a offer for coffee while we were waiting. From checked in to checked out , we had all friendly and professional staffs to help us . They recommended a few wonderful restaurants that the foods were delicious . Room is big and very good lighting . Room is clean and good house keeping . My husband had a few visits to a the bar and cigar lounge , he said was good . I had a massage with a Thai lady and enjoyed so much .

Amazing well-located hotel that exudes the old world charm. Fascinating story about how it started (It was built for passengers of the Orient Express in 1925), Well appointed room with good facilities and a nice selection of TV channels globally. It features several fine-dining restaurant and bistro. One day we had breakfast at Le Bistro before leaving for the airport. It took one of the dishes a bit longer to come in and unexpectedly the restaurant waived the bill for us. It’s a very thoughtful gesture.

Ich kenne das Hotel schon seit vielen, vielen Jahren, seit sicherlich 2005 und habe dort sicherlich schon einige Dutzend Mal genächtigt. Zuletzt vor etwa 2 Jahren. Aber so abgewohnt wie das Hotel heute ist, verdientes nicht mehr den Namen WestIn, denn es entspricht nicht dem hohen Niveau, welches mit dem Namen Marriott verbunden ist. Als sogenannter ”Prefered Guest” wird mir nicht, so wie üblich beim Einchecken die Creditkarten Sicherheit abverlangt, nein, es wurde der Sicherstellunsgbetrag gleich in voller Höhe abgebucht. Beim Check-out wurde der gesamte Rechnungsbetrag nochmals in kompletter Höhe abgebucht. Erst nach vehementer Reklamation wurde mir der Sicherstellungsbetrag wieder gutgeschrieben. So ein (schlechtes) Service habe ich noch in keinem Hotel erlebt und schon gar nicht bei Starwoods- Marriott, wo ich bereits mehr als 200 Buchungen hatte. Das Zimmer und insbesondere das Badezimmer mehr als abgewohnt. Allein die Kleiderbügel würden in einem 3* Hotel bereits im Abfall landen. Auch mit der Sicherheit nimmt man es in diesem Haus nicht sehr ernst. Der Aufzug kann von Jedermann benutz werden. Es wird keine Zimmerkarte abverlangt. Somit kann jeder von der öffentlichen Garage bis zu jedem einzelnem Stockwerk ungesehen die Etagen aufsuchen und hat freien Zugang zu allen Zimmen. Meim Wunsch, ein Zimmer mit Blick auf Altstadt wurde auch nicht entsprochen. Somit ist für mich alles klar. Ich werde nie mehr im Westin Zagreb nächtigen. Sicherheit Null und abgewohnt mit Investment Stau.

This place is not very attractive from the outside, and worse on the inside. The location near shops, restaurants and attractions is good - but not worth the discomfort. You enter into what looks like a shopping mall - there’s a small market at the entrance, but reception is up a flight of stairs. (There is an elevator in the parking garage if you drive in.) The room is roomy but looks outdated and drab. The worst part is the air conditioning - as other reviews indicate dating back years - is a stupid and ineffective system. The front desk controls it, and our repeated calls down to the staff never improved the temperature. The room is hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. Do NOT stay here! If it were ME booking the room, instead of a tour company, I would have read the reviews and gone elsewhere. This place is awful. One star for location.

Me and my friend had traveled to Zagreb from Budapest and once we checked into our room I was notified of an AirTag tracking us the whole journey and was pretty accurately at our location. After thoroughly searching through our bags and not finding any AirTags, we approached the reception desk where we explained the situation to the man at the desk. I have never felt such condescension and lack of compassion when speak to someone about a worry of personal safety. We mentioned that another member of the hostel had checked in just before us that we believed was on the same route and us and perhaps he had his own AirTag to track his belongings. To eliminate all possibilities, we asked the receptionist to contact this person on our behalf to confirm if this was the case. The receptionist seemed dismissive that this was something to worry about and therefor reluctant to contact said person. However after some us reiterating our worries for safety, he finally gave in to contact the person however made to effort to take details from us to contact and updated us on the outcome of the situation, however I left my email and asked if I could be updated though it has been a good few days since the incident and have received nothing. To make matters worse later in the evening, we could hear this reception worker mocking us and the situation to someone else hanging about the reception area. To conclude, the hostel itself wasn’t too bad - the beds were okay and seemed clean enough, bathrooms were nothing special. The building itself is also in a bit of a sketchy building with no working lift and not much lighting - the building is actually quite difficult to find in fact. Wouldn’t recommend.

Found this place on *********** and what a find! The room was clean and very comfortable with lots of nice touches like toothbrushes and toiletries. The soundproofing was good enough to muffle the trams that run all night through the central square outside the windows. There’s a minibar if you need it. Breakfast is excellent prepared by the wonderful Vlasta who spoke perfect English and was very helpful and friendly. Her advice on what to see in Zagreb and how to deal with Croatian trains was invaluable. She warned us that the train to and from Split is often late or cancelled so we changed our plans to return a day early from the Dalmatian coast. Luckily she was able to reserve the same room for us to stop overnight again in Zagreb. The second stay was as good as the first.

We stayed at Rooms Zabreb in Ocotber 2023. We were greeted by Ivan. Ivan and Irena are a lovely couple whoown RZ17. RZ17 was in a great location. The room was very large and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Our window looked out on to the main restaurant street. The windows kept the rooms very quiie. The bed was very comfortable. Zagreb was the end of this Croatia trip. We will return next year and stay again to explore more of Croatia. All in all it was a great place to stay. Remember to check your email prior to arrival for the passcode necessary to enter the outside door form th estreet. That door leads to an inner courtyard where the building is located. We also got a ride to the airport from Ivan as well. The taxi drops you off about a 5 minute walk away as they ar eprohibited from going in the area of RZ17. Ivan and irena , as residents, can drive there.

Maybe I’m too old to stay here! When we arrived we had to walk through the smoky bar to reception, which looked like it was mid-construction project. Not a good first impression. Our room whilst clean, looked like student housing decorated on a budget - eclectic, yes but scruffy. The bed was comfortable & the bathroom had the basic essentials but the hairdryer cord was so short I couldn’t see in the mirror. I did have a couple of safety concerns - our room was just off the public access to the rooftop bar but no security on the door to the guest rooms. Also there was no security chain on the room door & it was a flimsy door. It’s obviously a popular spot with the younger crowd with a rooftop bar & downstairs bar hosting events such as quizzes. Thankfully we stayed at the beginning of the week so it was quiet but I imagine it must be loud and noisy at the weekend. Breakfast was in the smoking bar area which was not great. The breakfast was cheap at €10 but the food was pretty poor & unexceptional. The coffee was disgusting. I won’t be returning.

I recommend this hotel as it is very well placed to wander around Zagreb. It is clean, very good breakfast and the staff not just friendly but very helpful. When you have had a wonderful holiday it is always easy to write a good review but my review is based upon yes a lovely holiday but it had to be cut short by five days - I got quite ill and had to return to London. The response by staff could not have been better or more kind. Not only did they help me get organised to leave but they also waived the cost of the 5 days. They did not have to do this but chose to help and support me. So I cannot speak more highly of this Hotel and its staff. And thank them so very much for making this difficult time more manageable fr me. So this review in not simple about the physical attributes of this very well placed hotel but evolves from the leadership and priorities of the Hotel and staff to fundamentally serve its customers. What began as a suspiciously underpriced, gorgeously designed, epicentrically located property with heart and smiles for days...turned into a psychotic, abusive nightmare, like something straight out of Rosemary’s Baby. Never in all my days, in all the hundreds of properties and thousands of nights in everything from backpacker hostels to five-star suites, have I been subjected not simply to bad service (fixable) but outright and unrepentant hostility, harassment and torment by the staff. Unbelievable. As the gentleman and professional many know me to be, I in good faith detailed the infractions, called for a GM meeting, recommended simple solutions, had multiple follow-up meetings, and presumed the offending micro-tyrants would be disciplined and neutralized. They weren’t. It only got worse. And worse still. Think, stalking, door slamming, man-handling my iPad (verboten), shorting guest change when paying by cash in the bar (witnessed multiple times), having aggressive security called for eating in an otherwise public area five minutes beyond a theretofore unknown “rule,” asking me repeated and pointedly “how long I would be staying...” you get the idea. So, in the end, I cancelled two weeks of reservations (which would have been expanded to 6+) and protested with my feet. I left. A day out and I STILL feel emotionally winded, unsure of what I just witnessed. All I know is that if my behavior to a client or guest even approached this, I’d be – and should be – terminated on the spot. This was not the decision of management. But maybe it’s me. Maybe this is Croatia’s version of adventure travel. Not enough to make me fall out of love with Zagreb...but close. Interesting world.
