I was charged for an additional 288 Swiss FR for “additional guest”. when I checked out. only because I did not put My Son’s name when I did the booking, but I booked a twin room and my son naturally stay with me. not to mention he’s my 13 year old son. they can charge me for additional breakfast. That’s totally OK. but additional person for twin room?really? And Main thing I was not told I will be charged when I checked in. That is not fair I will reflect this to Swiss tourism office.
Btw. The staff are 100% good. Very friendly but I am sickened by the strange policy.

Amazing value for money hotel! I had a single room with shared bathroom. The shared bathroom was always free when I was going to use it and it was always spotless. You get a fluffy robe in your room which is not only makes you feel cosy but also is very handy when you go to she shower so you don’t have to bring clothes with you. The room was super clean, the bed comfy, there was a sink in the room, table, chair and radio. The view from the window was very nice and I have enjoyed opening the window in the morning and looking at the mountains. The breakfast is very nice: different types of cheese and meats, tomato and mozzarella salad, homemade muesli, cereal, fruit salad, different types of bread, cookies. Coffee strong and delicious. You can also ask for egg if yoh want one. The owner and her staff are all extremely friendly and professional. The lady who did housekeeping and also served breakfast on my last day, is so pleasant and warm- made my last morning extra special. Great location- just off the main square, very central but frw steps away from possible main street noise. All in all, amazing value for money and would 100% stay again.

This was our first visit to Zermatt and the Bausite Hotel. We reserved a corner room and received it. The view was spectacular (clear sight to the Matterhorn mountain). The Breakfast buffet was outstanding and plentiful. Freshly squeezed Orange juice daily available. The restaurant is innovative and the food delicious. We used the pool available with 2 jacuzzis. The beds with plenty of pillows are very comfortable. Bathroom is spacious. We certainly can recommend this hotel which has a great location.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay.
Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable.
Very near the zermatt train station, just opposite of Macdonald’s.
Breakfast had a good selection.
Housekeeping would check in on you and offer free chocolates.
The only feedback I have is the room didn’t provide English instructions on how to dial the concierge so I had to walk down to request for items.

Overall experience is good.
Through we did not get the ideal room (high floor) due to full booking, we got a bigger room on the first floor.
Cleanliness and location was great, walkable to the train station and it was accessible to the main street.
Amenities were good - kettle was provided to boil hot water, tv could login to your own netflix account, there was tea time provided at 4pm daily.

I traveled with clutch and to the hotel is simply easy walk. Direct opposite the rail station and near all the restaurants and Coop.
I used the pool and it’s so nice.The breakfast was wonderful (some FOC selection in menu and a good spread in buffet) and they provide afternoon tea too.

I had been to Zermatt more than 25 times before discovering this gem. All I can say is ”better late than never.” Situated at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn, Hotel Schwarzee offers the ability to set off at sunrise and be the first skier on the slopes in the morning. The views are astounding, and the meals absolutely delicious. And- incredibly affordable when staying in the dorm. This place is probably the closest place to heaven you can get while still alive. Great service, amazing views.

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig gebucht ein Zimmer mit dem Blick aufs Matterhorn, unbeschreiblich! Das Dinner am Abend war sehr frisch und gut, Getränke sehr gut - Preisleistung absolut in Ordnung für die Schweiz. Du fällst einfach aus dem Bett morgens und in deine Ski und bist als einer der ersten auf der Piste ein unbeschreibliches Erlebnis absolut zu empfehlen. Nicht darüber nachdenken, einfach machen! Höhe nicht unterschätzen!

SStellakwansyStaying at this hotel in Zermatt was an unforgettable experience! The location is perfect—just 500 meters from the train station, making it incredibly convenient. The highlight of my stay was the warm hospitality from the owners, Thor and Michele. They personally served the buffet breakfast every morning, which was both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. On my first day, I unfortunately missed breakfast, but as I was heading out around 10:45 am, they surprised me by reserving some food for me to enjoy before leaving. It was such a thoughtful and touching gesture that truly made me feel cared for.
The room itself was immaculate and had everything I needed. The balcony offered a stunning mountain view, which was a perfect way to start and end each day. Thor and Michele went above and beyond to make me feel like a VIP throughout my stay. They remembered my name, attended to every need, and even took the time to explain the local attractions and recommend food options based on my preferences.
I feel incredibly lucky to have secured two nights at this gem of a hotel, especially since it’s almost always fully booked. This was one of the most personal and heartwarming stays I’ve ever had. If you’re visiting Zermatt, staying here is an absolute must. Thank you, Thor and Michele, for making my trip so memorable!

The Phone-call for Shuttle service Back and Forth pick up from the Station was quick precise and done with a smile by the porters,the receptionist in the check in was so fast,informative,professional and welcoming aswell as the others staff of the whole hotel. we would highly recommend the place to others, specially the room we got from the receptionist that is 803, The room itself was so huge with some free coffes and tea and that the Comfort room downstairs was so huge it literally was double the size of my other hotel rooms in Switzerland, For this 2023 trip. The amenities is awesome specially after a long hike on the hills and you only wanted to relax your body Then The spa and pool Are there for you. The breakfast was cool and have different varieties that you may choose from, for cold or warm food. and a minor adjustment maybe in arrangement of the food and making sure that the expose area around the food plates is always cleaned and maintained for the next batch of breakfast eater.. I’ll post some videos or picture when i get my computer up and running. But Zermatt budget rooms.. see ya in the future..

We spent three nights and four days at this hotel. It is along the river that flows through Zermatt and a few streets away from the Main Street. Therefore quiet yet close to everything. It is a ten minute walk from the train station. The rooms are modern and very nice. There is a hot water kettle and a safe in the room. Breakfast is included and is very satisfactory. My suggestion is to spend the extra money and get a room with a view of the Matterhorn. It is amazing to go to sleep and wake up to this view. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. There is an elevator and this is not always the case. If you feel like it enjoy a glass of wine in the lounge — you have to pay for it but they have a nice collection. They also have arrangements with four restaurants in the area. We enjoyed staying at this property and strongly recommend it

Mmiskyroo9My husband and I spent 3 nights here during a two week hiking trip across Switzerland. We really really liked this hotel! The room was well laid out, rather spacious, and very clean. We had an amazing view of the Matterhorn from the balcony! The breakfast room is just stunning and the morning spread was lovely. The location is very convenient to town. They have an outdoor pool with a stunning view of the Matterhorn and spa facilities that include a snow room! In addition to the room and location, what impressed us the most was the front desk staff. My husband had cut the palm of his hand in the previous town where there was no doctor (a nurse cleaned and bandaged it, but could not stitch it). After arriving in Zermatt and hiking the 5 Lakes trail, my husband discovered that the butterfly bandages had come off and the wound was red and swollen. We asked the front desk staff for a doctor recommendation - - a lovely woman referred us to the emergency doctor and called ahead on our behalf. We were able to see the doctor within 15 minutes and he took good care of my husband. When we returned to the hotel and throughout our 3 day stay, numerous staff members checked in with my husband and asked how his wound was healing. They genuinely cared. It really showed us the kindness of this staff, which is in itself indicative of the culture of this property. We couldn't have been happier with our experience at this property!

Free Good Breakfast, although a toaster would have been nice but they have good coffee machine and good collections of tea bags. Clean property and good view of Matterhorn from dining area! The property did not mention that the bus do not go anymore to 'luchre' stoppage. The property is quite high up in the mountain. The bus left me a place way below to the stoppage. so it was very hard to take luggage up to the property. Also, the distance between Luchre bus stop and the property is also bit long. considering the steepness. Second thing, the property does not have lift! It was really really hard to go up to 3rd floor with luggage. For me, a kind romanian staff helped me to take the suitcase to the 3rd floor. I also find the room (most probably 138 or 134) that I had been given at the very last corner of the corridor, which is fine. but opposite to that room, there is another property whose bedroom or lounge room facing my room, The room does not have curtain. it was very uncomfortable. Interlaken youth hostel has the curtain. not all the room needs curtain, but some room facing other properties, I strongly recommend this small addition. when I mentioned that to the lady, she said, go to a hotel, this is hostel. I replied, Interlaken has curtain. she did not reply. while leaving, the lady staff was very rude and said no one can help you to get the suitcase down. One gentleman was kind and helped me. This property is good. unfortunately, it is not possible perhaps to add lift or change location. but they can add curtain for sure.

PPengguna TetamuGetting a room in Zermatt during the peak winter season is quite challenging without committing to a certain minimum number of room nights. We were fortunate to book a room at Hotel Derby for one night, which fits our tight travel schedule. Several things we loved about this hotel: 1. The location - It is easily accessible on foot and situated along a busy street, only a minute's walk from Zermatt train station. 2. The guest rooms - They are recently renovated and beautifully furnished. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the peak of Matterhorn. Unfortunately, it was too cold in December that we didn't get to enjoy ourselves or stay out for long. 3. The breakfast - A wide selection of continental breakfast and it is included in the room rate. Even though it was a short stay for us, on the whole, the staff is amiable, and we highly recommend it.

PPengguna TetamuPleasantly surprised by how big the room was! A rarity in Switzerland for sure. Modern furnishings a plus! Lovely surprise balcony with a sideways view of the town, nice to sit outside to unwind at the end of the long day. Bathroom was rather lacking in character compared to the room and bath tub/screen was quite inconvenient. But basic amenities are there, two sinks + separate WC were appreciated. Breakfast was average, adequate but not great spread. No swimming pool, bare gym, uninspiring suana area for a 4* hotel so manage your expectations accordingly. Location very close to train station (5 mins), off a quiet corner, complimentary luggage shuttle would be nice instead of charging CHF12 for what is literally a 1 minute ride in a buggy.

EEe FenExcellent Matterhorn view from the room. Christina, I guess the owner of the hotel with excellent service and hospitality. However, the breakfast restaurant crews were not at par on service. Sight some argument with the tour group for table sitting arrangement which was not handled well. The crews wee also not with expected service too. The 2nd day breakfast was finished at 8am and we were told that it will not be replenished and that it was for the day. The spread with some left overs and we were not being offered any other arrangement. This is not acceptable with breakfast package. End up we hv to prepare ourselves with our own food. Very disappointed with this.

HHussain RWe stayed in the first floor apartment in this brand new building. The apartment which accommodates six guests, covers the entire first floor. The apartment is surrounded by balconies and a huge terrace directly facing the Matterhorn. Two bedrooms and the kitchen/dining overlook the river. The sound of the river is really seductive! The third bedroom overlooks the terrace and has a huge modern ensuite bathroom. The apartment has been done to an extremely high standard. The kitchen is huge, modern and well equipped. The three bathrooms have been done with modern design and tasteful finishes. There is a washing machine/dryer in the apartment which is extremely convenient. The location of the building is very central with easy access to the train station and all touristic and sports attractions. Many restaurants are within meters away. Our stay was made most comfortable by the constant attentive service provided by Ms. Alessandra who takes extra care and does not spare any effort to make her guests enjoy a memorable vacation. Highly recommended.

HHong AVery amazed by the level of automation in the hotel! Check-in was seamless even though it was just an iPad. We needed to pay a tourist tax via an online link prior to arrival but we were abit wary given the number of online scams nowadays - perhaps it’ll be better to charge everything up front?
There was free coffee available as well, which was a huge plus. The room was amazing, spotlessly clean, sufficiently big, had a balcony, comfortable bed. One of the staff (a guy) allowed us to put our luggage in the room early even though we could only encode our card after 3pm. He even helped us make a reservation at Du Pont as we didn’t have a Swiss number, thanks very much!
The hotel is a 10min walk from the main train station, though there are free buses which can shorten the journey. We just walked as it was faster.
We were in Swiss for 2 weeks and this hotel is definitely the best accommodation we had - for a very good price as well!
