This is an ”average” hotel per Zermatt standards. This is not a pejorative statement. Just realistic considering the price of hotels in Zermatt. The location is perfect. Overall we had an excellent stay. Very friendly welcome, nice large room with a clean bathroom a bit small. However, we were supposed to have a mountain view on our reservation and we did not. Breakfast was a buffet style which offer could be improved. We had one dinner at the restaurant and it was good. The waitress Christina was very friendly. Beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for visitors who want to be well treated and not spend a fortune in 4 stars hotels.

Goao picked us up from the GBB station and pointed out different restaurants that we might like. Walking into the hotel revealed a scent perfect for the senses, and the decor was fabulous. We were greeted by Marco’s smiling face. He was pleasant and full of information. He answered all of our questions and was very attentive to our needs. We mistakenly took the lift down to the basement but was surprised when Martin, the owner of the hotel, greeted us and inquired about our experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and it had a great layout. Balcony views of the mountains on both sides were an added bonus. We enjoyed the daily complimentary breakfast, the selections were awesome, and the staff were nice and pleasant. Between the three gentleman and the breakfast staff, we felt welcomed and appreciated. We will definitely stay here again if we’re able to return to Zermatt. I highly recommend it.

Hôtel Parnass Stayed june 14 to 17 LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION (6 STAR) This chalet hotel is convienently located about a 10 minute easy walk from the train station and just a few minutes from the main Bahnhofstrasse where most of the shops and restaurants are located. There is also a free bus that regularly stops directly in front of the hotel. It will quickly take you to the train station, the gornergrat train right next to the main train station and Matterhorn glazier paradise lift. All just a few minutes away. We walked from the paradise lift to the train station/gornergrat train in about 20 minutes as the walk along the little river was so enjoyable. But what is so unique about this hotel is the spectacular views of the Matterhorn from a significant number of balcony rooms. We took advantage of the clear weather that day and easily did the Matterhorn glacier paradise lift in the morning and then did the gornergrat train in the afternoon with a nice lunch at the top. In addition this hotel is very clean with an excellent breakfast that will get you through the morning. We loved the soft boiled eggs and all the breads with a variety of cheeses. And even sitting in the breakfast room we also had such magnificent views of the Matterhorn. We were so fortunate to have picked this lovely hotel in the heart of Zermatt and highly recommend it as your base location. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

The Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station. We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next. Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy. The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs. At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.

We stayed at the Alpen Resort hotel in July 2023 for two weeks. The room was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The view of the Matterhorn from our balcony was fabulous. From start to finish, all of the staff could not do enough for us. Everyone was so friendly, professional and genuinely welcoming. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, with cold and warm options and the four course dinner each evening was delcious. The restaurant staff were always friendly and curteous. After a long day walking or biking in the truly amazing mountains of Zermatt, the spa facilities were a delight. The pool, steam room and outdoor whirlpool were wonderful and always spotlessly clean. We would defintely stay at the Alpen Report hotel again. Zermatt is a truly magical and spectacular place and this hotel is a perfect location to base yourself to enjoy all of its wonders. The location is excellent - close to the station but nicely tucked away in a quiet location but with everything you need close by. Great staff, and wonderful breakfast. We also took advantage of the special fondue dinner there. Storage space for boots and skis was well planned and very convenient to access the town's free bus system. Happy hour there was very nice and great drinks.

I was very happy with interlaken youth hostel and decided to book zermatt youth hostel. Free Good Breakfast, although a toaster would have been nice but they have good coffee machine and good collections of tea bags. Clean property and good view of Matterhorn from dining area! The property did not mention that the bus do not go anymore to 'luchre' stoppage. The property is quite high up in the mountain. The bus left me a place way below to the stoppage. so it was very hard to take luggage up to the property. Also, the distance between Luchre bus stop and the property is also bit long. considering the steepness. Second thing, the property does not have lift! It was really really hard to go up to 3rd floor with luggage. For me, a kind romanian staff helped me to take the suitcase to the 3rd floor. I also find the room (most probably 138 or 134) that I had been given at the very last corner of the corridor, which is fine. but opposite to that room, there is another property whose bedroom or lounge room facing my room, The room does not have curtain. it was very uncomfortable. Interlaken youth hostel has the curtain. not all the room needs curtain, but some room facing other properties, I strongly recommend this small addition. when I mentioned that to the lady, she said, go to a hotel, this is hostel. I replied, Interlaken has curtain. she did not reply. while leaving, the lady staff was very rude and said no one can help you to get the suitcase down. One gentleman was kind and helped me. This property is good. unfortunately, it is not possible perhaps to add lift or change location. but they can add curtain for sure.

We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my sixtieth birthday, and had a lovely time. This hotel is located at the top of the mountain at just over 10,000 ft which is something to be aware of when booking. You may suffer from altitude sickness as we did , and it took a good 24 hrs to acclimatise. Fortunately we were there for 3 nights , so we were able to enjoy it. The rooms are well equipped , modern and very clean , but fairly small, and of course the view is amazing. You don’t come here for the food, and as others have said , it’s average, Breakfast is lovely, a good buffet and eggs cooked to order. Dinner however was a little disappointing, mainly due to the fact that the chef consistently over cooked the meat , to such an extent that on the last night the beef was inedible. It looks like ( in our opinion) parts of the meals are cooked in advance and reheated , leading to dry and at times very overcooked food. On my birthday however , the meal was lovely and the staff really made an effort for me, a lovely private table with a view of the Matterhorn, impeccable service from our waiter Peter, topped of with a special dessert from the chef. This hotel is very expensive, not unsurprising given the location, but for this price I would have expected more attention to detail from the chef. However when the trains stop and you get the top of the mountain with just you and a few other guests it is absolutely stunning, I even got up early to see sunrise one morning, and along with several other guests , had a spectacular view .

We would not stay here again. The 1980s revisited... Pros: Big room, great view mountains (not the Matterhorn), close to train station, huge balcony, parking beneath the hotel. Nice sized bathroom. Breakfast was satisfactory. A good starting point for a trip to Zermatt, if you're not going to stay in Zermatt. There are some great walking paths near this hotel. Cons: Ugly...brown...shag...carpeting. Orange furniture. Worn linens, mattresses and pillows. Traffic noise was a problem because we had to open the windows for ventilation during this warm spell. No ice was available for our room. No in-room refrigerator. Service staff was indifferent. If you are driving and going for a quick trip to Zermatt, I recommend parking your car in Tasch and leave your big luggage in the trunk. Take your carry-on and the train to Zermatt and stay for one (maybe two) nights there to see the sights. Then take the return train to Tasch to retrieve your car. I don't recommend staying in Tasch.

Excellent value and good option instead of paying high prices in Zermatt 15 minutes away. Across the road from train station and Zermatt shuttle. Good size room with tv, balcony, kettle, tea, coffee. Nice bathroom. Buffet breakfast with hot and cold options. Restaurant has lots of choices and big serves. Lovely staff. Hope to stay again.
