The Front Desk staff are polite and they smile. Great services from the lady in breakfast on 4 Oct 2024. Clean and spacious room. Thanks for the upgrade so we have a room with a corner bathtub. Room has a tube standing fan, luggage rack, working desk, 3 windows but no kettle and no small refrigerator. Heater works well. Buffet breakfast is good for the price in Europe. In South East Asia with this room rate, we will have better breakfast. The outdoor area on 8th floor has great view and you can smoke there.
The Apartments Company - the Sweet

For our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit. My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in. Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go. We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel. I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!

The hotel is near convenience stores and many restaurants, and it's also close to museums and the opera house, making sightseeing very convenient. The hotel boasts a very modern and innovative design, and it is relatively new. The rooms are clean, safe, and quiet. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful, and kind. The hotel facilities are also excellent, including a 24-hour self-service coffee and tea bar and a 24/7 gym facility. The only bad thing is that it is a 10-minute walk from the central train station.

I really enjoyed my 2 nights stay in Oslo Citybox. It’s superbly conveniently located minutes from the train station. Plenty of food nearby and couple of minutes from the main shopping street including the luxury brands. There is a foosball table, table tennis table, darts for family fun, in addition to card games and chess. There’s a kitchen where kettle and microwave are available, in addition to vending machine for small snacks. Highly recommended!

Truly one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well accommodated and comfortable throughout. When we arrived at the hotel it was 11AM, so I mentioned to the front desk staff that I know it was far too early for us to receive our room (check in is typically at 3PM) and that we would like to simply drop off our bags. Without any special requests, the front desk staff immediately prepared our room keys of us to check in right away, which was hugely appreciated since we had caught a very early morning flight in. We loved the room. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us, although a bit tight but that's what we expected for hotel rooms in Europe. The bathroom was well fitted and had all the basic toiletries required (shampoo, body wash, hand soap), however we hoped to have body lotion as well, so we asked housekeeping whether any was available and they immediately brought 3 LARGE bottles for each of us to use. I have never seen such massive toiletries and in such generous quantities supplied at any hotel before, which again made us feel very well taken care of. Finally on our check out day our flight was not until 6PM and since checkout is typically at 11AM I requested for just a 1 hr extension. Although they were very busy for it being the beginning of summer holidays, without any hesitation the front desk staff extended our checkout time to 3PM. I was once again very pleasantly surprised and appreciative. My last note is to touch on the complimentary tea and coffee always available in the lobby, as well as the fabulous buffet breakfast they served. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

I had the pleasure of staying at Comfort Hotel Xpress Youngstorget on the night of July 28th, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional service provided by Mr. Ponters during his shift from 10pm to 2am. During my stay, I encountered a significant challenge as my luggage had been delayed for two days with no updates from the airline company. In this moment of distress, Mr. Ponters went above and beyond to assist us. Not only did he generously offer the hotel telephone for us to contact the airline company, but he also displayed genuine concern by consistently checking in on us to ensure we were coping well with the situation. Furthermore, Mr. Ponters did not stop there. Understanding our predicament, he took the initiative to recommend nearby stores where we could purchase essential items such as toothpaste and slippers. His thoughtful suggestions made our temporary inconvenience much more bearable. Mr. Ponters' kindness, attentiveness, and willingness to provide assistance in a time of need truly set him apart. His exceptional customer service skills and genuine empathy exemplify the epitome of hospitality. It is without a doubt that Mr. Ponters deserves to be commended for his outstanding performance. His dedication to ensuring the comfort and well-being of guests is truly commendable. In my opinion, his exceptional service merits recognition, and I strongly believe that he deserves a raise for his exemplary efforts. Thank you, Mr. Ponters, for turning a challenging situation into a positive experience through your kindness and exceptional service. Your professionalism and empathy did not go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.

El hotel està genial ubicado, muy cerca del centro pero un poco apartado del bullicio. Se encuentra cerca de la ópera y de la estación central. Los trabajadores son muy muy amables, la comida que sirven está muy buena y me encantó que pudiéramos coger tés y café siempre que quisiéramos, incluso para llevar. La habitación sí que es cierto que es pequeña, y el baño es minúsculo, pero para dormir y darnos una ducha era suficiente. Estaría bien actualizar los televisores, ya que no puedes conectar ninguna aplicación, pero vaya eso no es primordial. Las camas muy cómodas, las almohadas se podrían mejorar, pero en general nuestra estancia ha sido genial.

This is an exceptional hotel for quality and service. We were able to check in early to a spacious room with all the extras, hair dryer, mini bar, snacks, iron facilities and drinks tray. Great comfy beds and bathroom facilities. The car park is underground accessible from the rear of the hotel and is secure with a lift to directly within the hotel The breakfast is vast and great quality with the chefs regularly doing quality control of the food and dining staff efficiently clearing tables. We ate in the restaurant and it was good quality. I must mention the young man who served us as his customer service was exceptional not to mention his cocktail mixing skills! Nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were really helpful in helping us with the public transport and although the hotel is located on the perimeter of the city both tram and bus stops were located within minutes of the hotel and we’re easy to navigate with the routers app. All the staff we came into contact with were both helpful and professional and were all good ambassadors for the hotel group. I would not hesitate in a heart beat to recommend this hotel, thank you for the service.

The hotel location was ideal and not far from oslo city centre with a metro station across the road and several bus stops very nearby. Most of the staff were very helpful however there was one gentleman who appeared to assist but then no result to his said actions. Additionally the first room he provided he stated would have view. The view was of the hotel from the window. The room he provided was unclean and filthy. We requested a change to our room with his colleague. She was very helpful and gave us a great room very clean room with a view of the river, but only thing is we had no phone in the room. We requested one but was told one would not available until later on the week. This was not beneficial as we were leaving. The amenities were ok however the hotel had direct access to mini shopping mall which had some lovely coffee shops and general convenience stores, which was great. Therefore we did not eat at the hotel. Overall apart from the above issues it was a pleasant stay and we extended it by a day which was a smooth process and we was able to stay in the same second room.

A beautiful room but experienced a number of disappointments. Hotel guests must pay a supplement daily charge to use the swimming pools AND book at designated time slot. I have NEVER experienced this at any hotel anywhere in the world. I was in a premium room, but this policy applies to all guests, which I think is awful. It was also impossible to get a spa appointment during my stay. Zero preference given to hotel guests. I strongly suggest you book spa treatments at least a week in advance of your arrival. Also, there is no turndown service, unusual for a highly priced 5* hotel. Housekeeping also finishes very early, or isn’t interested in guests who don’t align with their schedule. I had to work in my room but left at 2:45pm and it was not cleaned despite signalling the room needed making up. The reception team were polite, but chaotic. Generally, the hotel restaurants seem more focused on catering to outside guests, which is a shame.
