Our staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying

Booked this last minute but the hotel is good and in a great location. Helpful staff with a great sun terrace to have a few drinks in happy hour! A lot of seagulls messing everywhere but that's not the hotels fault, something needs to be done about that problem.

We absolutely loved the house as soon as we walked it. It's just stunning & very well kept. The front garden was beautiful to sit in after a full day in the city. We were greeted by June, the owner. She's such a lovely lady and full of knowledge. It was lovely chatting with her. Breakfast was amazing! I've never known a full English breakfast to be served with everything on the plate hot. There was a great selection of fruits & continental for your liking. We had an early check out on our last day & even though breakfast wasn't until 8am, June & her cook made sure we had breakfast before leaving. Both very friendly. Our room was in the attic but was decorated beautifully. Bed was super comfy & room had a nice bathroom & walk in shower. The hotel is only a 15 minute walk into York City.

We had a lovely four days at the Royal Oak in Great Ayton. All the staff were kind and helpful. The bedroom was clean, bright and comfortable. We had delicious dinners on three of the nights and another excellent meal at their sister pub The Buck on the last night. Nice breakfast with quality ingredients and really good coffee. When staying at Great Ayton, be sure to taste the best ice cream at Suggitt’s and fine pies at Petch the butcher!

Just left this little gem, really could not fault it. Everything you need right there even a bottle opener near the pod door. Very tranquil all the amentities you need and York centre only 4 miles away with a local taxi firm or nearby bus stop to take you in. The pods are spacious clean beds so so comfy we wish we had booked a week just for the great nights sleep. Barbeque facilities if you need to borrow and a little room with a fridge microwave etc if needed. Everything at your fingertips left feeling refreshed content and fulfilled with our stay , it really is the perfect little get away bless you little hide xx
