the date we stay was a new year eve, the traditional Japanese will stay at home but the staffs are still very professional and friendly, restaurant is opened freely for resident which bring the food from outside. It was good to and highly recommended

Super convenient, the hotel is located two minute walk from Takayama station on the way it is fully covered so there’s no worry during a snowstorm like when I was there. Service was also amazing staff met the guest with a smile and when I didn’t have an umbrella, I was offered umbrellas for loan straightaway for free. The hotel also has its own Onsen and it was very convenient to see it crowdedness through the TV in your own room. There’s also a rest area where you can enjoy the view of Takayama from the top of the building and a foot spa for those who can’t do the full body hot spring which is very good for people.

Our stay at Suimeikan in Gero was nothing short of amazing. Despite the hotel's age, it has maintained its charm and offers a truly remarkable experience. The facilities were well-kept, and the traditional ambiance combined with modern conveniences made our visit both relaxing and comfortable. The onsen was a highlight, offering a serene and rejuvenating experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Suimeikan perfectly captures the essence of Gero – a blend of timeless beauty and exceptional service. Highly recommended!

The hotel is large and spacious, with three interconnected buildings featuring an onsen, or hot spring, on the sixth floor. The breakfast room's capacity is somewhat limited; we were seated on the third floor, a ballroom repurposed for breakfast, while the typical restaurant is on the second floor. Although the food is the same, the third-floor location lacks the ambiance and view of the second floor. While I understand that the hotel has many guests during peak hours, allowing guests to choose their seating would be preferable. We are not in a rush and are willing to wait; Japanese guests tend to eat quickly anyway. The room and hot spring were satisfactory, though unremarkable. The hotel's location is not convenient to the train station. If you are traveling by train, this should be considered, even though a shuttle bus runs hourly.

This is a very good hotel for a road trip tourists.  There is a big parking lot but it’s not free. There are 3 shops (clothes, shoes and sundries) just opposite to the hotel and a souvenir shop on the ground floor of the hotel; definitely good and convenient for shopping. By the way, some grocery stores nearby as well. Both indoor and outdoor onsens are good!

This is a popular hotel in Takayama, welcoming many domestic and foreign visitors. There is ample parking space, but you have to pay ¥800 for parking overnight. The breakfast buffet can be added on for ¥1000 per person. The staff at front desk spoke good English. There was a welcome drink coupon which you could use it for beer or a soft drink at the bar, which is totally self-service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, comes with a shower and nice equipment. The onsen is located on the top floor, and for the private onsen it is on a first come first serve basis, you just need to lock it and enjoy the facility. It is family friendly, and visitors can help themselves to a popsicle after having a bath. Amenities such as combs, soap, shampoo, bath robes are provided, you can take it at the lobby.

This hotel is conveniently accessible to Takayama and its surroundings. The hotel amenities are unexpectedly excellent. They even have a bar area that serves beverages including those with alcohol. Car-parking is also provided.

**Hotel Review** Unfortunately, my experience at this hot spring hotel did not meet expectations. The dinner service was particularly lacking. The food had already been set up in the room before we arrived, and the waiter offered minimal assistance, only asking if we had lit the fire. There was no explanation of the dishes, nor was a menu provided. To make matters worse, the necessary cutlery for different courses was repeatedly overlooked, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The food itself was unremarkable and didn’t compare to what other hot spring hotels typically offer. The private onsen also posed a challenge. The water switch was broken, leaving no way to adjust the temperature or water flow, resulting in water that was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. Breakfast the next morning was very basic and lacked the variety or creativity I’ve come to expect from similar establishments. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the standards I’ve experienced elsewhere and left much room for improvement.

Although we just stayed overnight, we had a memorable experience in Takayama Ouan. The hotel has a lot of freebies for their guests. They have a booth in the lobby where guests can get free brewed coffee, hot tea, and green lemon iced tea. They also provide free socks since the hotel have tatami flooring. What we also loved about this hotel is the onsen (separate public onsen for male and female, and 3 private onsen). They also have a freezer where guests can get free iced cream after bathing. During past 9 pm, they also have free ramen for their guests. The room is spacious, and the view from our window is also nice (the roads and establishments covered with snow). Aside from the free stuff and great amenities, we also appreciate the kind and friendly staff members. We accidentally lost the luggage claim tag (and we are willing to pay for it) but they didn't charge us anything. When we go back to Takayama, we will definitely stay here again.

A family of 6 with 4 kids. We stayed in 2 rooms and they granted our request for rooms next to each other. Rooms were ok with working hot shower, towels, toothbrush and toiletries. Coffee and tea were also free. Japanese breakfast was a welcome surprise and we got to enjoy a snowy view of Takayama station while sipping freshly-brewed coffee. The hotel itself is old-ish and so are the facilities. There's a laundromat, massage chairs and a drugstore beside the hotel. There's also a Family Mart convenience store that's walking distance. It is directly across Takayama Station so it's in a very convenient location!

We stayed a night in a triple room, which's quite spacious. The location is the best, close to almost everything, just a short walk. The room is clean and quiet. The staffs is helpful and help us store our luggage before check-in time. I personally felt the bed was a lttle too soft but the others had a good sleep on it. Recommended!!

Excellent! Very satisfied for this onsen hotel!! Definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Everything is over expectation: services, facilities, room, public bath (onsen), food, and all. One drawback would be language barrier between some staff, but they really trying to communicate with us which is impressive. Also, there is a free shuttle bus service between train station and hotel during daytime, very convenient. Tips for me is to book this hotel on weekdays, it is half price cheaper than weekends or holidays.

An old hotel that retains its grandness.. Although at check in, I was informed there's a charge only if I take the flowery yukata. There are free surprises in the Japanese room every day. Clean Japanese socks, towels in bags and a different Japanese sweet every day with Japanese tea My room faces the Hida River, it was beautiful looking out. It is very near the rail line, but it didn't disturb me. And I suppose all river facing hotels face the same light loving insects. But if you follow the instructions placed in the room, it is alright

Very good experience and staff are very professional especially Mr Taku Yamada as he went the extra mile to accommodate my request to provide me western bed instead of rokan. Hotel is very nice clean n unique with pulley type lift. Good buffet spread. Definitely a good value for money stay.

酒店外觀圖與真實不太相符，和式門口位置都未有見到，如果需要接送服務可能要提前通知，另外2F有私人風呂亦要提早預約。所有服務員態度很好，會有免費租借浴衣，這點很滿意。房間一切良好，但酒店設施略為有點古舊，其中包括Wi-Fi連接都要用一段時間，而且未能有效使用。另外大浴場及露天浴場亦是舊式設計，沒有帶鎖的儲物櫃，晚上燈光略為有點慘白，且人流不多，希望酒店可以更換更鮮明的燈光。膳食會在房間進行，味道沒有太特別。

Onsen hotel offering excellent service, superb food and privacy. Service was next to nothing, staff offered Salmon sushi and malt tea at no extra cost as I choosed to skip breakfast to catch up with early bus schedule. The room was very clean and quite spacious. Dinner and breakfast was in Kaiseki style. The food was excellent, particularly the sashimi and the Hida beef (both grilled and sukiyaki).The use of local ingredients added to the uniqueness of the experience. The onsen was not big but cozy. Considering the hotel has about 20 rooms only, it offer very good privacy and I enjoyed the public bath twice alone in my 2 days stay. Rental private bath was a good surprise and worth to try if you are traveling in pair. Location is a bit far from train and bus station up on the top of the hill, but the the pickup service and a nice view of the mountain compensated for that.

Hotel is abit dated. But location is very good. Just opposite Gifu train station. Family Mart is just below the hotel. The hotel provide free simple western buffet breakfast.

Other than using the old system of keys and air-conditioning for the room, everything with this hotel has been perfect! Valued for money laundry systems, near the JR train station, near yakiniku food areas and many more. Staff were all so pleasant and efficient at all times as well. Really great experience with this old school hotel 👏👏 so worth it

We booked for two single beds in one room. Room is clean and comfortable. Fridge is underpowering. Very standard services. Hotel staff are very helpful and capable of simple english communication. Two USB-A charging ports and one electric socket can be found close to the head of bed.

服務和環境都滿意，位置方便從岐阜站一路經天橋就可直達酒店無需上落。溫泉金華の湯好滑，溫度舒適好浸，也有洗衣乾衣機提供。溫泉後可享用免費冰棒，免費夜宵拉麵如常美味，朋友吃了自費早餐也很滿意。唯獨雙人床房比較狹窄，一大一中喼不夠位完全打開，還有開冷氣空調會有噪音，改為暖房功能才回復安靜，但到半夜兩點會自動關閉，幸好被子夠暖也舒適，起床時要穿上外套保暖。

We opted for the standard Japanese style room with experience sleeping on the futons which was an experience. Onsen facilities were great and offered certain degree of privacy during winter season. Not much of the Nagawagara river view given its winter

設備は全般的に古く、床がきしむ、特に空調の温度調整や動作が良くなかっりしました。 しかし、そのような不具合に対してポータブルヒーターを用意してくれたり、事前にエアコンを入れて部屋を暖めてくれるなど、親切丁寧に対応して頂けて大満足です。 その他、部屋、廊下も広く掃除も行き届いていました。

大雪予報だった為連泊しました。 とても快適に過ごせました。 ホテルも綺麗で、スタッフの対応もとても良かったです。
