It is an old hotel. I have no expectation as for the price I paid. However, if you are staying here for conference, you may have a better choice of hotel. The queue for breakfast can be troublesome.

Have already stayed several times in the Carathotel. Everything is modern and practical. Though the rooms are not luxurious, they are very functional and beds are comfortable. Everything from check-in to check-out can be done online or at the check-in tablet stations. Great location to main shopping areas (Kö) and just 10 min walk to the main train station. Bonus are the fantastic luxury Edeka supermarket in the same building, as well as access to the very funky John Reed gym just around the corner for just EUR 5 through the hotel.

Hygien, room, bed, quietness everything was great except that I got this problem with the receptionists. So I did explain to all the receptionist (that I saw-because I understand they work in shifts) that I lost 2 luggages due to the airline's mistake and airline will send them to this hostel where I would be staying (for 1 night only). I explained that if someone sent luggages here, please tell me asap because I needed to catch a train to Amsterdam the nextday noon. Imagine 35kg of personal belongs just dissapeared, I didnt have toothbrush, clean clothings.... I reminded them everything 3-4 hours when I saw a receptionist. After almost 27 hours of waiting in worry (which made me cannot enjoy the city), I talked to one receptionist to please check 1 more time becauze the airlines mailed me that they did send to the hostel at 4:30pm in the day I checked-in hostel, (only 4-5 hours after my flight time), she let me go it the luggage room and my luggages were there the whole time! So I waited in pain for 22 hours for nothing. I think it would be a bit obvious when 1 guy in delivery company uniform went in with 2 luggages and said ”this is from one of your customer.” But the receptionist just forgot it quickly and didnt tell me. I had to change a lot of my plan and I was feeling terible and stressful with the waiting and fear of lost luggages. Beside that, the condition of rooms, facilities, warm water, sound proof windows were great.

Very new and clean. Location is ok, can walk to train station around 800 metre~15 minutes. I love the buffet breakfast, very variety. The staff at breakfast area very so diligent. The negative thing is the reception lady never smile to me, I prefer the man at reception always say Good morning to customer!

It’s my first time writing a review, in my opinion, the hotel is too good to be true. Very good value for the price. 10 mins away walking from the train station. I don’t think it’s so far from the city center. For me it’s walkable distance. (By Uber is around 8eur to the city center) Everything in our room is clean and comfy! I recommended ;)

There was no air conditioning (AC) even though the hotel advertised as having it. Their excuses was that it was too cool at night to operate the AC for the hotel even though it was actually very warm outside. Translation: the entire hotel is either on heat or AC, they are too frugal to allow use of the advertised AC, or their system is outdated and does not actually work properly. Very hot and stuff room. The odd thing was is that the hotel lobby seemed to have AC. The hallways and room were uncomfortably hot. Upon checking in there was only a little bit of toilet paper was left on the roll. Fortunately there was an extra roll provided. Only a few sheets of Kleenex were in the box. Also, the hand soap dispenser was nearly empty. It seems not much care is given to the rooms between guests. On our last day the housekeeper knocks on the door early in the morning even tough the “do not disturb” sign was hung on the door. It was a basic room with furnishings that included a desk, a small round table, 2 small nightstands, a desk chair, and one sitting chair. There was no usable refrigerator, just a mini bar. The was only one suitcase rack situated in the closet. We had to use the sitting chair for our other suitcase. The beds were not too comfortable. Also the pillow case did not completely cover the pillow, so your head might rest upon the exposed portion of the pillow where the lasts hundreds of guest placed their heads. Bathroom was OK but a bit smelly. The shower had low water pressure. Some water will leak out under the shower door to the floor. Stepping over the high tub with a slippery shower floor is a bit precarious. Internet speed was 3.81 Mbps in both upload and download, with 8 ms latency. The location is near the chocolate museum and a good pizza and pasta restaurant is nearby. The cathedral is less than a mile away. At almost 400 euros a night, it was very expensive for a poor experience. Perhaps HN stands for “Not Happy.”

But the front receptionist one fat girl is not friendly when I asked her the parking place. She only shows you a paper and told you to take photo of it, scan the address QR code and find the parking place by yourself. It's hard to find the correct direction for a new visitor. Besides this, everything is fine.

For my first trip to Cologne, my one-week stay at AMERON was delightful, so I hope I will be a returning guest soon! The hotel's location is perfect for catching different public transport means quickly and efficiently. The room was well-lighted, spacious, great for relaxing but also working, and had a pleasant modern warm aesthetic. The restaurant had delicious quality food (breakfast selection was very diverse, dinner too was always tasty), ”served” with a stylish and cozy atmosphere. The hotel's staff as well as the restaurant's staff were very friendly and had a lot of benevolent patience with my rusty German speaking skills! Communication was easy, professional, but also comfortable, in both German and English. Very happy with my choice, my heartfelt thanks to all the staff!

This was my first time back since my military days and having travelled through Germany in the 3 years I was here, I haven’t changed my opinion that Cologne is the best city to visit. This time I was here for the FIBO fair and stayed at the Mercure for the first time. As expected it was first class and the hospitality of its staff was impeccable. The hotel is out to the west which means a 20-30 minute tram ride into the main area around the cathedral and river but once you master the payment system you will enjoy the experience, with the trams being on time throughout. The only criticism is that being a fitness person and witnessing others like me staying at the hotel, the gym was poor consisting of only 3 cardio machines in a tiny room. A small set of dumbbells would be a welcome addition and would have justified a 5 star instead of the 4 I have given. Otherwise well done to all the staff for a highly enjoyable stay. Also wenn das a&o hostel das Dom Hostel als Standard hat,dann war das mein letzter Aufenthalt. Dusche kein Druck um zu duschen. Bett steht gefühlt mitten im Raum ohne eine Kopfstütze, so das das kissen immer wieder auf dem Boden landet. weniger Zimmer und mehr Badezimmer ist ratsam. was bringt mir ein „großes“ zimmer wenn das Badezimmer für Zwerge gemacht ist. auch wenn die Lage zu meinem Arbeitsplatz in den letzten 2 Tagen gut war wird kein a&o hostel mehr gebucht. zumal ich nen Einzelzimmer für echt Patte gebucht habe. kriege ich nen „Hotelzimmer mit Doppelbett“ für. wird auch das nächste mal gemacht.

The location is near the station and quite good to get nearby locations. The Asian restaurant nearby is great and a few Chinese restaurant is just a few hundred meter away. The gym is good and the breakfast is decent. Sparkle water is free provided in the lobby.

room, location is great my stay was perfect especially a warm welcome when I arrived. the receptionist saw me tired from walking under the cold, instead of asking passport but offered me a bottle of water.. lovely.. and other staffs at breakfast were excellent service mind. cheers Hampton Dusseldorf :)

Das a&o Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof befindet sich, wie der Name schon sagt, unweit des Düsseldorfer Hauptbahnhofes. Bei unserem Besuch war das Zimmer sauber und ruhig, sodass sich das Hotel in meinen Augen definitiv für einen Städtetripp eignet. Ich kann das Hotel also definitiv weiterempfehlen.

Lovely hotel. Super conveniently located! Only 3 minutes walk from Düsseldorf main train station, 20 or so minute from DÜSSELDORF airport with taxi. Connected to several regional train lines. Right at the hotel entrance there is a tram stop, that would connect you to the whole city or take you with one min trip drive to the HBF. The hotel have a restaurant that offers an extensive breakfast buffet. They were on a soft opening phase, yet the breakfast is super exclusive, also have vegan and vegetarian options. The staff is super attentive and caring. Got a room with a balcony, a friend of mine with 2 kids got an amazing connected room in the ground floor overlooking the hotel garden! Suitable hotel for business travels, tourists who wanna stay in the hub of the city and families. I think the hotel have 2 buildings and both are elevator accessible and also for visitors with wheelchairs. I haven’t been in a meeting there but the hotel also offer meeting spaces and meeting rooms. I have seen the signs in the elevators. Wifi is available and free of charge too. I don’t have a car but my friend did. The hotel doesn’t offer a parking place, but it wasn’t a problem for us. There are parking places that are available around the main station area or in nearby parkings. Or you can park on the street around the hotel at an extra cost. It is a bit costly to park per hour, would recommend to park per 24 hour. Last but not least the hotel offers an amazing work area, with a huge table with plugs for laptops suitable for businessmen, students and anyone who would like to remotely work from a comfy convenient place. Prices are super suitable for coffee, drinks etc.

Two nights business trip to Düsseldorf Interpack 2023. Hotel was very nice and clean. Service was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean although the view from the window was not the beat but what can you expect from this location near the airport. Breakfast had everything you need and was tasteful basic hotel breakfast. If you want to eat bigger there is restaurant across the yard in Novotel. This hotel is just a walk away from train station and sky train station that takes you to the airport. Also bus SB51 takes you to airport or citycenter. Location is good for business travellers but perhaps not the best if you want to be near citycenter.

Bit tricky finding it to begin as taxi driver wasnt very helpful(The only one we found to be like that for the rest of weekend Thank goodness! When we arrived the staff were really so helpful a few smiles a my mostly forgotten German, but no obstacle at finding our room, which was really lovely, everything was spotless, white towels gleaming, all sanitary ware shinning and so clean. Every time we went in or out we, my daughter and I were greeted with smiles always happy to get a Taxi for us, nothing was too much trouble!on our return it was to and pleasant welcome inquiries, especially when we told them we were there for the Rocket League Championships, they really wanted to know how this was going, lovely Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, We hung the card on our door to say we didn't need room cleaned or fresh towels so we saved water n electricity, for which we had a voucher for either glass of wine or coffee, Marvellous, Definitely recomend this lovely clean happy place, The NIU Hub. Ich muss sagen, dass mein dreitägiger Aufenthalt im Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Düsseldorf Seestern eine absolute Enttäuschung war. Trotz einer Reservierung im Januar und einem telefonischen Anruf, dass ich ein Zimmer in einem höheren Stockwerk entfernt vom Aufzug wünsche, wurde mir ein Zimmer im ersten Stock direkt neben dem Aufzug zugewiesen. Das Zimmer war auch noch Rollstuhlgerecht, obwohl ich explizit darum gebeten hatte, keins zu bekommen. Als ich mich beschwerte und darauf hinwies, dass ich vor Monaten eine entsprechende Buchungsänderung veranlasst hatte, wurde ich mit dem Hinweis abgespeist, dass der Empfang nicht die Zimmereinteilung macht und ich früher hätte kommen müssen. Meine Ankunft war jedoch nach 23 Uhr, also konnte ich nicht früher kommen. Weiterhin wurde mir erklärt, dass eine Gruppe Asiaten ihren Aufenthalt verlängert hatte und deshalb keine Zimmer frei wären. Das Zimmer selbst (Rollstuhlgerecht) sah aus, als ob es mehrere Tage oder sogar Wochen nicht bewohnt worden war. Es gab dreckiges Geschirr, der Sessel war kaputt, der Bürostuhl abgeschabt, es gab kein Bügeleisen und die Dusche war schimmelig. Als ich nach dem Manager fragte, wurde mir eine Karte ausgehändigt. Die Dame auf der Karte gibt es anscheinend nicht, da sie auch nach mehreren Tagen nicht einmal für notwendig empfunden hatte, mir den Eingang der E-Mail zu bestätigen, geschweige denn, eine Antwort zu geben. Besonders traurig ist auch, dass die Rezeption keinerlei Deeskalationsmaßnahmen angeboten hat, außer dass der Mitarbeiter nicht verantwortlich für mein Problem sei. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Düsseldorf Seestern nicht empfehlen. Der Service war unzureichend, die Zimmer abgewohnt und unangemessen teuer. Es gibt definitiv bessere Optionen in der Stadt.

Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

Het gemiddelde vd Valk gevoel maar dan Sheraton. Bij de naam van dit hotel, verwacht je een hotel met hoge klasse (zeker voor de prijs) Vriendelijk ontvangen en geholpen bij de receptie en na inchecken gelijk de koffers uit de auto gehaald welke in de parkeergarage onder het hotel stond. Het blijft bijzonder dat je moet betalen om te parkeren bij een hotel. Zeker met de huidige hotel prijzen, mag dit wel gratis zijn en voelt niet gastvrij. De kamer was mooi groot (maar een plek om de koffer was er niet dus dan maar op de grond. In deze moderne tijd verwacht je een laptop, Chrome cast of wat dan ook aan een tv te kunnen koppelen echter zat deze zo dicht getimmerd met hun eigen systeem dat er niets mogelijk was. Als de tv zenders nou nog internationaal waren, maar zeer veel Duits met een enkele Engelse zender er op. Op dag 1 bij het ontbijt (wat in het weekend tot 11:00 mogelijk is) stond de eerste dag niemand bij de ingang en liepen serveersters bijna rennend de tafels op te ruimen. Wanneer je om 10:00 binnen loopt verwacht je dat de broodmanden nog gewoon vol gehouden worden, dit was niet direct het geval. Dag 2 was nog vreemder. We liepen weer door omdat er niemand stond maar kwam er een serveerster op ons bijna afgerend, drukt een blaadje met een pen in de hand en roept iets van invullen. Hierop moest mijn naam, kamer en handtekening gezet worden. De reden hiervan weten we nog niet. Maar nog vreemder en niet zoals het zou moeten het blaadje maar op het deskje gelegd maar niemand die dit gelijk weg haalde en dus lag er een naam en handtekening zo voor het grijpen! En ook nu weer nog 2 kleine speciale broodjes en pas toen we bijna opstonden om weg te lopen verschenen er nog wat nieuwe croissantjes. Alles bij elkaar niet meer dan een duur gemiddeld hotel wat ik niet van een hotel met deze naam verwacht had.

Wir waren aufgrund einer Messe zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel. Ich kann meinen Vorrednern hier absolut nicht zustimmen. Bei uns war alles in Ordnung. Das Zimmer im Haupthaus war sauber und gepflegt. Das Hotel hatte Probleme mit dem Fernsehempfang - darauf wurden wir vorher hingewiesen und es war für uns kein Problem, da wir die wenigste Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes im Zimmer verbrachten. Im Nebengebäude sollte das Fernsehen funktionieren - falls gewünscht hätten wir dorthin wechseln können. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und lecker. Frisches Obst und geschnittenes Gemüse, eine kleine Auswahl an frischen Brötchen sowie diverse Aufstriche und Beläge und vieles mehr. Als Milchalternative konnte man Sojamilch wählen. Der Service im Hotel war sehr freundlich. Ein kleines Manko - unser Zimmer wurde nach der ersten Nacht nicht gemacht. War für uns aber kein Problem bei nur zwei Nächten Aufenthalt. Eventuell haben wir hier auch einfach nur etwas überlesen und es war wirklich nicht inklusive. Vielleicht sind das auch Coronaregeln von denen wir nichts wussten. Aber wie gesagt... Für uns halb so wild. Das Hotel liegt super zentral - die Innenstadt, ein großes Einkaufszentrum sowie die U-Bahn ist locker fußläufig zu erreichen.

It’s a walking distance to city centre without the noise and business of the centre. An U-Bahn station in front of the hotel, a restaurant just beside the hotel. Perfect for city trip.

Ich kann nur sagen: eine ganz schlimme Erfahrung. Dass das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist und den Esprit eines 1980er Hauses versprüht, ist ja schon schlimm. Dass es laut ist und die vermutlich aus den 1970er stammende Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert, ist dann wohl auch nur noch konsequent. Richtig bedauerlich ist allerdings das Verhalten der Mitarbeiterinnen beim checkin und checkout. Kann sein, dass die Damen nicht anständig bezahlt werden, aber dann wäre ein anderer Arbeitsplatz sicher besser, als den eigenen Frust an Kunden „auszuleben“. Auch hat man deutlich gemerkt, dass es sich nicht um ausgebildete Kräfte gehandelt haben kann, da man ihnen als Gast quasi alles erläutern musste. Ich werde auf gar keinen Fall einem solchen Hotel und solchen Mitarbeiterinnen noch einmal gutes Geld hinterherwerfen. Das einzig positive, um das nicht zu vergessen, war die relativ zentrale Lage. Das war es dann aber leider auch…

Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!

The hotel is just a few minutes from the Philharmonie U-Bahn station or just a 15 minute walk from the main station and hence very nicely located. The staff are very professional and gave me a good welcome. The room was very well-kept and for the price, a good size. Excellent WiFi coverage at good connectivity speeds. Overall, a very nice stay in a very nice hotel.

Glücklicherweise habe ich nur 1 Nacht in diesem ”Hotel” übernachtet. Charme 0, Qualität 0, Ambiente 0, Frühstück auf Hostel-Niveau, Pluspunkt waren die Parkplätze direkt am Haus. Unverständlich wie dieses Haus wettbewerbsfähig bleiben kann, Übernachtung mit Frühstück knapp unter 100€, sehr sportlich für das ”Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis”. Mein Zimmer war zur Hauptstraße ausgerichtet, man konnte aufgrund des Straßenverkehrs nur mit geschlossenem Fenster schlafen. Fazit: hier hat es seit Jahren, wenn nicht Jahrzehnten keine Investitionen mehr gegeben. Plus: gute Matratze, dies muss fairerweise gesagt werden.

Mit dem ersten Schritt über die Türschwelle des Schlosses will der Zauber wirken, der Alltag abgeschüttelt werden und der Genuss beginnen. Für uns auf Hugenpoet bedeutet das, herzliche Gastfreundschaft, perfekter Service und ein Ambiente zum Wohlfühlen. So die Versprechen des 5 Sterne superior Hotels bei Essen. Bei unserem Aufenthalt konnte das herrschaftliche Anwesen in einigen Kategorien nicht voll und ganz begeistern. Doch eins vorweg: Wir hatten dennoch einen entspannten Aufenthalt und eine schöne Auszeit in ganz historischem Ambiente. Als Autofahrer ist man zunächst etwas orientierungslos, ob man direkt vorfahren darf (zwecks Gepäck), oder lieber sofort einen der Parkplätze wählt. Auch der eigene Privatparkplatz vor der Villa Türmchen ist nicht sofort ersichtlich. Der Empfang im Schloss fiel u.E. eher nüchtern aus; ein ”Herzliches Willkommen” inklusive Namensansprache wäre schön gewesen, wurde uns aber leider nicht zuteil. Zumindest hat man uns zur Villa begleitet und die Besonderheiten erläutert. Die Welcome Amenities inkl. frischer Blumen, die überall zur Begrüßung bereitstanden, waren sehr nett und genussvoll. Die Villa Türmchen ist ein exklusives Refugium in der Vorburg des Schlosses, umgeben von Wasser mit eigenem Patio und Terrasse. Das besondere Flair mit den dicken Backsteinmauern hat seinen ganz eigenen Charme; Großzügigkeit und Privatsphäre inklusive. Allerdings wird es dem Housekeeping bei dieser Größe die Arbeit nicht ganz leichtmachen und so befanden sich im Badezimmer unter dem Föhn leider noch Überreste in Form von Papier-Verpackungen der vorherigen Gäste. Die Handtuchhalter-Ringe (Gäste-WC und Hauptbadezimmer) bedürfen dringend einer Erneuerung, da diese immer wieder herunterfallen. Trotz gründlicher Suche konnten wir leider keinen Schuhanzieher finden; ebenso wenig wie das ”Achtung Hund im Zimmer”- Schild, welches im Brief angekündigt wurde. Die Tatsache, dass der Turndown-Service nur auf Anfrage durchgeführt wird, haben wir letztendlich nur dem aufmerksamen Lesen des Hotel-ABCs zu verdanken. Auch hier hätte besser kommuniziert werden dürfen. Darüber hinaus ist die Stärke der Internetverbindung nicht optimal und bricht häufig ab, sodass die Nutzung des Suite-Pads lediglich eingeschränkt funktioniert. Der Gesamtoptik wäre es zudem sehr zuträglich, die Kabelführung an den Geräten, insbesondere beim Fernseher und dem Telefon, besser zusammenzuführen/zu verstecken, um das unansehnliche Kabelgewirr etwas einzudämmen. Die kulinarischen Leistungen des Hotels bewegen sich durchweg auf angemessenen Niveau. Der Afternoon Tea, die Bar und der Weinkeller boten hervorragende lukullische Geschmackserlebnisse. Der Service agiert freundlich, könnte aber durchaus an der einen oder anderen Stelle professioneller auftreten, um dem Haus gerecht zu werden. Wir vermuten, dass auch im Schlosshotel Hugenpoet der Fachkräftemangel nicht spurlos vorübergeht. Abschließend möchte ich noch ein großes Lob an das Room-Service-Team und das Frühstück
