If I were to rate the room alone, this guesthouse exceeded my expectations. Even though I booked a special offer room in the basement, there were absolutely no issues with ventilation or natural light. On the contrary, on a warm winter day, bathed in the soft glow of the lights, it felt like my own cozy little haven. If I visit again, I'd still choose this place. (The lady at the front desk was beautiful and kind-hearted, always willing to help and answered every question with a smile, which truly warmed my heart.) Now for the downsides: breakfast was served about a 10-minute walk from the guesthouse, which isn't a huge deal. However, the breakfast service was a world apart from the guesthouse's excellent service. The staff didn't even lift their heads when we entered or left, completely engrossed in their TV show. And they didn't provide Wi-Fi, which I consider a very basic service, right? Also, could you please avoid serving rotten fruit to guests? The breakfast quality was more about presentation than substance; it looked good for photos, but the taste left much to be desired.

If you're visiting Taiyuan for food and sightseeing, Fenxi Jiuting is the place to stay! It's right next to Zhonglou Street scenic area, making its location unparalleled. You can walk to all the popular Instagrammable spots and food hubs, so getting around is incredibly convenient. The hotel is clean and tidy overall, with bright and airy rooms that feel spacious. The mattress firmness is just right, and the soundproofing is good, allowing you to relax and recover from your travels. The facilities are comprehensive and functional; the air conditioning provides excellent heating, and toiletries are fully stocked, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring stay. The staff are attentive and discreet, promptly responding to any needs, and the check-in/out process is efficient and hassle-free. The value for money far exceeded expectations!

The most comfortable parent-child hotel we've ever stayed at with our child! I wholeheartedly recommend it to all moms and dads out there! 🛏️ Three-meter super-wide bed, tumble around worry-free! The room features a super-sized tatami area with a special mattress over three meters wide. Our child can roll around freely while sleeping, and we adults don't have to worry about them falling off the bed at all. We finally got a full night's sleep! 🎠 Kids' playground + thoughtful service, hands-free! The hotel's public area on the first floor is an absolute paradise for children! It not only has bookshelves, climbing frames, and a trampoline, but it's also very close to the front desk. When the staff aren't busy, they'll even proactively play with the kids, allowing parents to relax on the nearby lounge sofas, enjoy a coffee, or scroll through their phones. It truly delivers a ”hands-free” experience. 🌳 Superb ambiance, cozy and comfortable! We stayed in a first-floor room, and just outside the window was a small green park. The afternoon sun filtering through the tree shadows into the room created an amazing atmosphere. The room is very spacious, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are incredibly convenient. We stayed here for three days, and the whole family was super happy and comfortable! It's definitely our top choice when visiting Datong, and we can't wait to go back!

A very pleasant stay at the Pipa Old Inn. A very historical building, though the place is equipped with all necessary modern amenities save for an elevator. Fortunately the staff very helpful assisted us with lugging up our heavy luggage to our room on the 3rd floor. Very beautifully decorated and strategically located in the heart of Datong Ancient City. Very pleasant and helpful staff who helped us plan and arrange our trips around Datong though sadly, they weren't very proficient in English (but that's common in China). Free breakfast was included in our stay and there was a decent spread though the menu didn't change much over our stay there save for one or two vegetable dishes being rotated. Overall definitely worth a return trip and stay in Datong Ancient City.

Environment: The hotel is located near Baima Temple Mountain, offering a beautiful, elegant, comfortable, and peaceful setting. Facilities: The hotel opened in May and is fully equipped. The in-room hot spring pool is very comfortable, with ample water flow, fast Wi-Fi, and a wide selection of complimentary drinks in the mini bar. Breakfast is also quite varied. Cleanliness: The hotel is very clean, and the hot spring center is also spotless! Service: The entire hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is excellent, both in the guest rooms and in the restaurant. The front desk staff is very welcoming and will personally explain the hotel facilities and escort them to your room. They also give a small gift upon check-out. My whole family is very satisfied with this hotel and will stay again! Fengyang Yitang Hot Spring 4-Hour Ticket (Includes a meal of your choice and unlimited fruit and drinks): The hot springs aren't large, but they are clean and provide ample leisure and entertainment. Food and drinks upstairs are all free.

We spent out last night of our trip at Kempinski Taiyuan, and it did not disappoint. The receptionist upgraded up to a room on a high floor with a view of the city. They also gave us fresh fruits and free minibar. They had everything you would expect of a five star hotel, and the location is in a bustling part of the city. Would definitely come back.

This hotel is a courtyard-style hotel, and the room is as pictured. The room was fully equipped with a minibar and was very comfortable, perfectly worth the location and price. It's even better off during the off-season! 🤣 The fan was a little awkward, located directly above the bed (perhaps it was unique to our room), making it a bit uncomfortable to sleep with. The service was excellent. The front desk lady, Keke, was very attentive. If we were out for a long time that day, she would notice and ask if we wanted a foot bath. She also recommended the delicious jelly we had at the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. It was truly delicious! Even better than Shunyi! In the evening, it was so relaxing to sit in the rocking chair in the courtyard, listen to some music, and have a drink.

Beautiful new hotel. Very friendly staff who offered two gifts to every room during the national holiday. Room felt spacious and luxurious and was sunny and mostly quiet during a very busy holiday period. Hotel restaurant was also delicious with good service. We ate there twice. We also had breakfast everyday of our stay. Very nice quality including lots of local ingredients and choices was fantastic! The hotel is so conveniently located in the ancient city. Walking distance to a really nice cafe with great coffee, lots of restaurants and all the main attractions including pop up laneway markets selling ancient treasures. Honestly, it’s a fantastic hotel and felt worth the price. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the Drum Tower in the very heart of the ancient city. It's incredibly close to all major attractions; Huayan Temple, Shanhua Temple, and Dongnanyi are all within 600-700 meters, making them easily accessible on foot. Popular internet-famous restaurants like Zini 369 and Longjuxiang are also just a three-minute walk away. Although the hotel has a classic, state-owned aesthetic, its service is far from old-fashioned and has kept pace with the times. The facilities are well-appointed, the restaurant offers a pleasant ambiance, and the breakfast features a wide selection of delicious options.

For more than ten years, I will stay in this hotel every time I come to Jincheng. Not only because this hotel is close to the highway, but also because from the service to the room environment, from breakfast to the spa on the first floor, every aspect of the hotel makes people feel at home. The meticulous service at the hotel front desk left me with a lasting impression. Made a deep impression. In addition, the park scenery outside the hotel is also comfortable. I will still choose this hotel when passing through Jincheng in the future.
