"It's a sort of antique hotel. However, it's worn down and lacks the magical atmosphere it should have. The rooms are small and inadequate (for the price paid). Breakfast options are limited. The waiters are helpful. Being right next to the old city is an advantage. And nice garden ."

The location of the hotel is good. The room is large and the bed huge, and very comfortable, although I would rather have had 2 single beds as was travelling with my son. The bed only had one pillow and one single duvet despite the booking was for 2 people. We found another pillow and duvet in the wardrobe but I do feel the room should have been set up for 2 people. The free drinks in the fridge was nice, but the fridge was not cold, there was also no way to open the drinks but we asked at reception and they provided a bottle opener. The shower in the bathroom was broken so you had to hold it to shower as it did not stay in the holder. The bathroom was clean but did smell damp. There was chilled water, sweets and pastries to help yourself to at the reception. The check out was midday which is great but it was rather a shock at 11.55am when just finishing packing in the bedroom someone tried to enter the room with no knocking or warning, this really is not acceptable.

The perfect location in central Wernigerode for your stay. An easy walk to the castle, the steam Brockenbahn and the main railway station from here, as well as all the local cafes and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful, although little to no English is spoken here, so brush up on your German before travelling. Breakfast is plentiful and first class, the rooms are comfortable with nice bathrooms and there is a fridge in each room. WiFi is excellent. I'll be staying here again on my next trip to Wernigerode.

It was warm, cosy room. They put a bed story next to your bed. That was cute. The story relates to the name of the hotel. Wonderful!!! It is next to the central city Christmas market!!! You can feel the Christmas in the air!!! It is 15 minutes from station, easy to find. Delicious breakfast. Everyone was so friendly!

Not recommended in summer. Outdoor temperature 35 degrees, in room 33 degrees. No jalousies before the windows just hanging. Heat the whole night, no air conditioning only a loud ventilator. Many stairs and no seat, bad for walking impairment. Beer tastes super, breakfast top, food in the beer garden and service very good. The city of Wittenberg is very beautiful.

The hotel was very close to the main train station (Hbf.), we could hear the train announcements at night. They weren't perfectly clear, but loud enough nonetheless. We didn't have a double bed, but rather two separate, very narrow beds. We couldn't push them together as they were separated by a built-in nightstand. The breakfast was delicious with many homemade items. The service in the dining room was very attentive.
