This is the worst accommodation experience I’ve had during my trips to Japan. In the past, my visits to Japan have always been perfect—truly a paradise for travelers from around the world. However, lately, I’ve noticed a surge of Indian people in places like convenience stores and hotel front desks, which has led to some negative experiences for me along the way. I usually brushed them off as minor, but this hotel stay was unacceptable and I have to speak up. At check-in, the Indian front desk staff was indifferent and dismissive, which already set a bad tone. Then, when I went to bed around midnight, I discovered that the room only had two flat bedsheets—no duvet cover (comforter cover) and no pillowcases at all. It was very late, so I didn’t want to disturb anyone by calling reception again, and I ended up sleeping uncomfortably without proper bedding—yet another hassle caused by the Indian staff. If the hotel management sees this review, please seriously reconsider hiring Indian staff. They are ruining Japan’s reputation and its world-famous service industry! I hope this feedback helps improve things for future guests.

This was our favourite hotel in Japan. The location is very central to Kyoto, but did not feel too crowded and overwhelming. It was very easy to get around Kyoto from this hotel, with a lot of train stations close by. The room was clean and bigger than most hotels I’ve stayed in during my trip to Japan. The finishes of the room are just gorgeous. It really feels like luxury. The smart TVs were a nice touch too. The amenities of the spa were really good, and I loved the extra feeling of security knowing women receive a women only key card and men receive a separate one. Nice touch having washers, dryers and vending machines too. The staff are kind and polite and are more than happy to assist you. Although I did find the self check-in a bit confusing - some translations were a bit off. Regardless, I really recommend this hotel.

I've been to Japan more than 5 times and have always stayed at the Royal Park group hotels as I've always had good stays. However, this was the worst experience I've ever had with the hotel reception. We booked two rooms (exactly the same standard twin room) and upgraded one room from the 2nd night onwards of our 5 nights stay. On the 2nd day of our stay I went to the hotel receptionist (it was a different person who checked us in and registered the room change) to change the room and realised then that we mixed up the room that was to be changed as we were travelling as a family. I tried to explain it to the person at the counter but was shocked to be treated so rudely instead. He even threw the change of room slip on the counter and refused to talk to me at all even after I kept apologising and saying I didn't understand what was being said and to explain to me what happened. I was so traumatised after this experience and will never be going back to the Royal Park franchise anymore.

Large hotel located in a very convenient location close to train stations and shopping centres. There are two breakfast options in which you can choose to eat at a diversified buffet or a set menu in an observation deck on the 14th floor. The hotel itself is a bit old but renovated inside. Overall, it's very luxurious for the price but the bedding were not too comfortable. Free shuttle departs every 20 minutes between Kyoto station and the hotel. Super convenient for shopping at the station or transferring large luggages. Water and ice filler locations are available on each floor. The gym cost extra to use. Luggage delivery is possible within the hotel as well (cash only).

A very convenient location, opposite to Kyoto culture museum. Walking distance to a convenient store Lawson. Book a room with washing machine, it works amazing. Excellent services provided from the staff, facilities were well explained.

Friendly, English-speaking staff. The room is basic but comfortable. I sent my luggage here a day earlier and it was kept safely. The hotel is conveniently located near both bus and train stations and is very quiet at night. There isn’t much to see around the area—just a quiet street—and while there are a few nearby restaurants, some are not very kid-friendly.

The receptionist was very friendly and inviting. There was a smoking room on the top floor and the rooms were well kept and clean. Bathroom came well equipped with all the necessasities and if needed, you can take slippers, robes, combs, hair ties, and even body lotions before entering your room. If you want to get a good nights rest, ARISTON HOTEL is the place for you.

Hotel location wise a 10 min walk to Shi-jyo the high street of Kyoto and a 20 min walk to Kyoto Station. It is on Karasuma a major N-S street in Kyoto chess-board like -city plan, with metro stations and bus stops within walking distance and easy to get around to tourists sights. The hotel has a big dining area for breakfast and the staff attentive and helpful. The room is clean and provided with pyjamas instead of Japanese yukata. There is a bicycle rental shop Sunshine, 5 min walk away. Major road in Shij-jyo has strict hours where bicycle is not to enter
