JiaowoJzongOverall, this was a rather disappointing hotel stay.
Before our trip, our plans changed, and we asked the Trip.com concierge to help with cancellation/modifications. However, they were unyielding, and we couldn't cancel for free, so we had to proceed as planned.
After checking in, I waited alone in the waiting area for a long time, expecting a staff member to accompany me to the room and explain the facilities. I waited for half an hour with no one attending to me. When a large group of tourists arrived, the front desk became crowded. After inquiring again, I was told there was no escort service to the rooms and I had to find my way myself.
At 3:30 PM, housekeeping was still ongoing in the room areas. The room space was cramped, and the view was unremarkable. For a room rate of over 4,000 yuan, the hardware and service provided were far from satisfactory.
The hotel's Italian restaurant had decent food, but it wasn't positioned as a high-end restaurant, and the wine list was very limited.
The next day, I asked the front desk to call a taxi to the restaurant. For some reason, perhaps they didn't understand English, there was a long delay. After further communication, a car was arranged half an hour later, which was baffling.
Considering all these experiences, I will not choose this hotel again in the future.

This hotel is definitely one for the bucket list! The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. They also offer a shuttle service to Karuizawa Station, with a polite driver and soft music playing in the car. My only minor complaint is that the hotel doesn't provide bicycle rentals, but you can easily find rental shops nearby.

Absolutely impressed! It truly lives up to its reputation as a resort town – peaceful, beautiful, and with amazing views. The rooms were incredibly clean, the service was excellent, and the onsen was a perfect 100. The classic-style rooms were clean and cozy, with high-quality furniture. I would definitely return if I have the chance. Parking is free for those with cars, and the hotel also offers a shuttle service for train travelers. The food is high-quality, and the restaurant, rooms, onsen, and views are simply stunning.

MeowVanWhat an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

mamaaixiaoxiangThe room was incredibly spacious, and the hot springs were so relaxing! I particularly loved the dry sauna – it got nice and hot. What a treat to enjoy complimentary beer after the sauna in the afternoon! 🥰 The breakfast buffet offered a fantastic variety of dishes; you could tell everything was freshly prepared by a chef, not just pre-packaged. They've really thought of everyone: there's milk and soy milk for those with lactose intolerance, full-fat, low-fat, and fat-free yogurt options, and even three different miso pastes so you can customize your miso soup. I especially enjoyed the freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices – they were beautiful and delicious.

PondnyThe room was spacious and clean, with excellent facilities, including an onsen. The hotel parking lot was large, which was very convenient for guests traveling by car. The onsen here is fantastic, both indoor and outdoor. Breakfast was delicious and varied, made with high-quality ingredients. The staff were all very friendly and cheerful. The views and atmosphere around the hotel were superb.

There's a long staircase leading from the outdoor area to the lobby; there's no elevator. Staff helped carry our luggage in. The room was huge, and the view from the window was lovely, with trees and pleasant scenery. The room was a bit old and lacked electronic sensors, so staff used a translation device to communicate. Their service was excellent.

Guest UserBy the time we got there by rental car it was quite late, the reception team has been patient and friendly. Suggest to have more illustrated print out for driving to the sightseeing parking lots and more maps to show before heading out. Plus the water machine is not very handy in giving out hot water for tea. Others are perfect in terms of room and environment.

Anonymous UserRight at Nagano Station! There's a connecting passage on the second floor of the hotel that leads directly to Nagano Station. The location is excellent!
The hotel has a luxurious feel, reminiscent of an economic boom.
The room was standard, quite spacious. The facilities weren't brand new, but they weren't uncomfortably old either. The room was generally clean and comfortable.
The hotel breakfast was decent, with a good variety of options.
If you plan to spend your days exploring the mountains and returning on the same day without staying overnight, this hotel is highly recommended!
