DDanniu.xieThe room features a standard Naxi-style design, with a spacious and airy 99 sqm layout. The soft furnishings are elegant and tasteful, the bedding is soft and comfortable against the skin, and the amenities are complete and clean. The most stunning feature is the private viewing balcony, offering an unobstructed, direct view of the entire Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from your room. You can wake up to the 'sunlit golden mountain' phenomenon from your bed in the morning, and in the evening, sit on the terrace, enjoy the breeze, and watch the clouds drift over the mountaintops – every photo you take will be postcard-perfect, with an absolutely superb and unobstructed view.
I must particularly commend our dedicated butler, Elin. She proactively contacted us before check-in, confirmed our itinerary in advance, and even reminded us about the temperature differences between morning and evening. The entire check-in process was completely hassle-free. She was instantly available via WeChat, responding incredibly quickly, and arranged all additional supplies meticulously and thoughtfully. Her sense of propriety was just right – warm without being intrusive, with thoughtful details at every turn. Our entire trip was perfectly taken care of, making our travel experience truly wonderful.

GGuest UserWe chose a two-bedroom suite with our family here. The hotel facilities are quite old overall, and we stayed for three or four days. It's an older hotel, and while you can still see its past glory and the essence of its design, the overall color scheme and facilities now feel dated. However, the front desk and butler service were excellent, almost always accommodating our requests. Overall, we were satisfied. The downstairs pool, kids' play area, and even the evening entertainment were all pretty good. The outdoor hot spring was our favorite part, but unfortunately, it rained, so we only got to go once.

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic.
2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements.
3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well.
4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄
5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing.
6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it.
7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression.
8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job.
9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2).
10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room!
11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around?
I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

JJoshuaRSAMy partner and I stayed at Pullman Lijiang Resort & Spa for two nights during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Overall, our experience was mixed.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the villa itself. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was excellent—one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have slept on in a long time. We had two very restful nights, and the room provided a peaceful environment to relax after exploring Lijiang.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not live up to the hotel’s luxury branding, price point, or rating. While the property may once have been a premium resort, it now feels dated and in need of renovation. Many of the facilities and amenities appear worn, and the overall condition of the hotel gives the impression that it has not been maintained to the standard expected of a luxury resort.
The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The Western selection was very limited and of questionable quality, while the Chinese options were equally underwhelming. Even basic items such as the baozi did not taste freshly made. For a hotel in this price range, the food quality was surprisingly poor and far below expectations.
Having stayed at many other hotels across China, including less expensive and less prestigious brands, I have often enjoyed significantly better breakfast offerings and overall value. The dining experience simply does not reflect the premium rates charged by this property.
In summary, if you value a large villa and a comfortable bed, this hotel may still be worth considering. However, those expecting a true luxury resort experience, modern facilities, and high-quality dining may find themselves disappointed. The accommodation itself was enjoyable, but the amenities, maintenance, and food quality need significant improvement to justify the hotel’s reputation and pricing.

AAlialisonIHG hotels are simply exceptional! I was initially considering staying at the InterContinental next door, but I much prefer the room types at Indigo, and I'm so glad I made the right choice 🤓. King and Tianyuan, the Guest Relations Managers, provided incredibly thoughtful and attentive service. Seeing I was pregnant with a big belly, they helped upgrade my room! 🫶🏼 They even added me on WeChat and were super responsive to all my requests! They also helped deliver my takeout to the room, so I didn't have to go to the lobby to pick it up – much appreciated!
The cleaner came every day during my three-day stay, and the room was spotless. As a pregnant woman, I felt very well taken care of, and I'm sure it would be great for kids too. We'll definitely come back when the kids are on holiday! 😄
Breakfast can be had at the InterContinental, and the variety is amazing – both Western and Chinese options are available, plus Yunnan Xiaowo rice noodles and roasted milk. It basically saved me the cost of lunch! 😂
The location is incredibly convenient, right by the South Gate of the Old Town, and you can get there easily by taxi! 👏🏻 It's only 20 minutes from Lijiang Station. There are foot massage places and restaurants nearby, so all your dining, entertainment, and leisure needs are met! 👍🏻

ZZuiaichifanshuijuedadoudouI did a lot of research before my trip and finally chose one of the top 50 guesthouses in the country, and it turned out to be the right choice. The day before my trip, the butler arranged airport pickup service. The driver arrived on time, was friendly and polite, and the butler was there to greet us at the drop-off point. The bumpy stone road was indeed difficult to navigate, so luckily, a rickshaw took our luggage to the hotel.
Stepping into the hotel, the garden landscape was delightful. The room was set up exactly as I requested—clean and with a broad view.
The biggest difference between a guesthouse and a hotel is that a guesthouse truly considers guests' daily living habits. A dryer, dehumidifier, bathtub liners, facial cleanser, and laundry detergent were all provided. There were also disposable slippers and eco-friendly bath towels that you could take with you. The guesthouse thought of everything a guest might need.
Whenever you feel like a drink, just head down to the lobby, and the butler will freshly grind and prepare a small coffee latte for you—fragrant, rich, and delightful.
During leisure time, children can do crafts in the lobby. Everything was very satisfying.

GGuest UserTraveling with my elderly parents, convenience was key, and I'm so glad we chose this hotel instead of staying in Haixi. Xiaguan District is where the locals live in Dali, and it's incredibly convenient for food, drinks, and entertainment. Right downstairs from the hotel, there are all sorts of local specialty restaurants. The hotel's location is excellent, and the views are simply stunning; you open the door and Erhai Lake is right there. The breakfast selection is rich, with rice noodles and regular noodles available all day. Since my elderly parents prefer simple dinners, we often asked the hotel to stir-fry two vegetable dishes and prepare some rice vermicelli for us, and they always accommodated our requests without hesitation. The service is truly exceptional – the front desk young lady was gentle and warm-hearted, and the restaurant young lady was also incredibly kind and enthusiastic. Overall, among all the hotel staff I've encountered, everyone, from the airport pick-up to the front desk and even the maintenance staff, was patient and welcoming. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance; it's particularly well-suited for families and friends traveling together.

GGuest UserThe best thing about Cachet is the location, right in the middle of a very lively area with upscale bars and restaurants and cafes, quiet neighborhood of tree-lined streets with old school walk-up apartments. The hotel rooms and facilities aren't the newest and while the design isn't exactly up to date it's quite unique. Cool artwork in the lobby. Rooms are huge. I had a 4th floor room with great views. Started my day with the tea set; there's also a pod-type coffee machine. On the top floor there's a laundry room gym and billiards. A bit old though so that area could use a refresh. The restaurant operates as a German-style brewpub open to the public except during breakfast. So they have German sausage which was very good. (We had to ask for yellow mustard, which they should have out instead of ketchup!) The breads weren't fresh though. Was really impressed with the quality of the broth in the noodle bar. Front desk service was really nice & helpful. They did a good job keeping our Taobao packages for us so they were ready when we arrived.

AAnonymous UserOur best stay during our family trip to Yunnan from Malaysia. The staff members carried our suitcases during check-in and check-out as our rooms were upstairs and there are no elevators in this hotel.
Rooms were clean and well furnished with comfortable beds, with complimentary local treats and pu-erh tea that you can brew in the rooms. The complimentary sweet soup (late night snack), fresh soy milk and Guo Qiao Mi Xian (breakfast) were delicious with fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed the free activities such as tea-tasting and qipao/hanfu photography sessions during our stay.
The hotel also has a common area on ground floor (where we had breakfast) for customers to chat, relax or enjoy their takeaway meals.
Deeply appreciate the staff members for accompanying us while we wait for our ride in the rain at the e-hailing ride pick-up point (a 2-minute walk from the hotel as vehicles are not allowed to drive through).

The kids' play area was fantastic and made our family trip so much more enjoyable. The Executive Lounge offered great views and a wide variety of drinks and snacks. Our room was spacious, and everything worked perfectly. The neatly arranged desk and welcome cards showed great attention to detail, highlighting the hotel's commitment to quality. Overall, the hotel is well-maintained, clean, and has a grand feel to it. The staff were warm and polite, making for a truly wonderful experience. It's definitely a top choice for accommodation.
