Derek guest services at the super 8 it’s true Customer Service always helping me out with anything you need at the hotel. He’s very knowledgable about the area and always offers wonderful sightseeing sites to visit. The hotel is an incredible value the best in the area highly recommend it it also comes withComplementary continental breakfast downstairs in the main foyer . We stayed one night on a cross country driving trip. We didn’t experience all of the facilities but the room was great, very comfortable and had a great sleep. The front desk staff were so pleasant. We had a very minor issue with the room which was looked at immediately and fixed. The manager offered us complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience which was such a nice surprise and then had 2 follow up calls from front desk checking up on us. There was a big winter storm and we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant instead of venturing out again. I almost gave this review 4 stars because the dinner was disappointing and expensive. The main courses were a bit tasteless and had to be sent back to be reheated. But I knew it might be hit and miss before we went in so I decided to stick with my original 5 stars for the great hotel staff and a great sleep.

Hotel is difficult to get to with construction and the parking is not convenient. The area is a high crime location and it can be very uncomfortable around the area. Hotel was packed with people. We were informed many were staying because they were displaced, or coming from out of country. Which is completely fine, and only an issue for the sheer volume of people and families living long term in the building and in the small reception area. There was only 2 elevators working and one was broken for a while, there were long lines to access the elevator. Staff were obviously exhausted and mostly indifferent. There was security but the area and hotel did not feel secure. It was a very loud, cramped, hectic one night stay for us.

The hotel is very clean and safe. Location is good if you in town for a hockey game or concert at the Canada Life Centre. Also close to the Forks, 10 minute walk. The nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch. Floor to ceiling window and very high ceilings in the room. The only thing I didn’t like was the French doors to the bathroom because there is a gap of at least an inch so I felt lacked privacy while in there. Downtown has what you’d expect of a typical downtown area in a major city. One day seen a lot of homeless and the next day none. Streets are very clean and to get in the hotel you will need a room key. The social bar on site is very good atmosphere drinks and food. I wouldn’t recommend walking anywhere alone at night downtown. There’s lots of nearby pubs and market and lots of restaurants.

Very pleased - we stayed 2 nights before our flight and upon return from our vacation. We were away for 2 weeks and the vehicle parking was included with the room. Rooms and hotel were comfy and clean, shuttle to and from airport were quick and prompt. Very friendly staff, clean pool area and good breakfast selection which is also included. Will absolutely stay again.

We spent two midweek nights here. This lovely downtown hotel was built in 1913, and has a beautiful early 20c lobby. If you stay in an historic hotel, you have to understand that some things will not be as good as staying at a modern hotel. For example, bedrooms and bathrooms will often be smaller, there may not be a pool, etc. But for us, being a part of history is enjoyable, and we've stayed in many hotels with an historic background. We found the Fort Garry to be a lovely place---the historic vibe is definitely there. The hotel's location is great---you can walk to the riverside Forks Historic District, with its famous market, museums, etc. And the hotel is only a block from the historic railroad station. Yes, our room was a bit small, but the bed was comfortable. We asked for a room with a good view, and got one on the 5th floor with a nice view of the railroad station and garden areas nearby. The staff here were exceedingly friendly, from the front desk staff to the restaurant servers. For example, our breakfast server from the previous day made a special effort to come over and talk to us the next day, even though she was not our server that day. Really good effort to make you feel comfortable! The hotel has a very nice fitness room, but no pool (you can pay for pool privileges at an adjacent building). The beautiful hotel restaurant (Oval Room) also reeks of history. We had breakfast there two times and dessert (not dinner) once. It's highly rated, and the food was very good. Parking here can be an issue. You can self-park on a fairly small one floor lot on the hotel's first floor, or down below in a basement garage. The first floor lot often fills up with patrons of the restaurant or business functions, but the basement lot was never full, and we used that one on both nights of our stay. Just note that the basement garage has no elevator. Overall, we had a delightful stay at the Fort Garry.

The sound of air condition was quite loud but compare to the sound of the shower, it was relatively not that bad. The water flow pressure makes the sound over 5 mins before it became normal. We expected Fairmount standard higher than we experienced.

As the title would suggest, you need be aware that your car may be broken into when staying at this hotel. I always check out the hotels I stay at on TripAdvisor before booking and I did see that this was a problem, but thought never in a million years would we be the target of such a thing. Not the case. Before leaving to start our day I noticed a note slipped under our door that there was an issue with our car and to visit the front desk. It didn't even occur to me that it would be this, I thought it was because we were parked in the red area, outside the hotels green area. The manager was called when I got to the front desk and he informed me that our car was broken into. I will say, they handled the situation very well. The front desk clerk, the manager that I spoke to, the security guard that helped to tape up the window and the clean up crew that were there with garbage cans and an industrial sized shopvac all handled the situation very well. As it turns out...from what we could see there were about 6 or so other cars that were broken into. After the shock sunk in and anger and frustration surfaced, I went back to the manager to see if there was some sort of compensation that could be offered. There was, which I appreciate. If this happens to you, don't be afraid to ask. Needless to say, no matter how nice the room was or how great the lounge and lounge staff were, I'll never stay here again. I will look for a hotel with a private parking garage or at least a more secure parking situation or find an airbnb.

Our overnight while waiting for a plane to as very enjoyable. We had a lovely large very clean room. The bistro area for bar type food and breakfast was quite adequate. The staff were most accommodating when we needed a late check out. We would definitely stay here again if passing through Winnipeg. A very short walk from arrivals and to departures.

Very modern, clean, spacious and lovely hotel. On the outskirts of town so not much close by for teens but there is a Boston Pizza that did a good job for us and also a Food Hall with three ethnic food options that looked great. Management got us a great price on our rooms and even upgraded us to suites! Our only disappointment was that the pool broke down and they had to wait over a day to get maintenance to fix it, which blew our plans for a final night pool party with no warning -- major bummer. Breakdowns are inevitable but having someone on call to come within a few hours is important, especially to groups and families who might have chosen the hotel for its pool.

Booked in late afternoon and out early next day. Room was clean and parking for truck and trailer was OK as well. We did not eat at the restaurant this time, as there is an excellent little place across the street.

The room seemed clean and roomy. We had 2 queen beds, they were comfortable. Looked like the rooms had a few upgrades. There was no where to hang a towel. Parking lot was full every night and it was difficult to find a parking place. Breakfast area is very tiny and too many tables so crowded. It was a hot breakfast and good selection. The first morning they were out of coffee and the girl was just running to keep up. Fairly quiet; it was packed so we did hear some people in the hallway in the mornings. This hotel was close to where we were visiting so that was the reason we stayed here.

We stayed here twice in one week. On the way up to Clear lake then again on the way back. Both rooms were clean. The phone did not work on the second room. We did not need it but I did tell the front desk when we were leaving. Itcould be dangerous if someone needs to call 911. The rooms had mini fridges and microwaves. No coffee maker but they had coffee in the lobby all day. The first day they were working on the room that you eat breakfast in so we had to eat in our room which is a bit awkward. They had bacon, eggs, potatoes, waffle making machine, muffins, etc. (The second day they had sausages instead of bacon and the room was open.) The food server was very friendly. They had a security guard 24 hours. Not sure if that is usual as there were peoples staying there from the fires up North. The maintenance man went above and beyond to retrieve my diamond earring from out of the sink drain when I accidently dropped it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! They also facilitated our request for a room on the main floor as close to an exit as possible.

We came to this hotel for a hockey tournament. and we were booked into it by the tournament organizer. This was a huge mistake for the tournament cause this hotel is not team and family friendly. They close the pool at 9:30pm for adult time (which meant no one used it after 9:30pm), you are not allowed any food or covered drink including water in the pool area. They refused to keep the lounge space attached to their breakfast room open at any point for kids or parents to be in. There is a small lounge with four chairs in the front lobby for people to be in but it’s not nearly enough space for the size of the hotel. This poor girls volleyball team sat in this tiny space to have a team dinner and over three quarters of them were on the floor. If you are coming with a team expect to be in your room the entire time as the expectations of this hotel force it to be this way.

My spouse and I were on vacation in August 2023, and our travels took us to Brandon for a night. We were using IHG points and were able to redeem points for our stay here. (We stayed here on a Monday night.) Overall, this is a great hotel... and I was told that it had opened within the past few years or so. It has the newer look/design to it. Our check-in process went smoothly, our room (#315) was clean and comfortable (and spacious), and we loved the amenities. The indoor pool and hot tub were very nice and inviting... and breakfast in the morning was excellent! Plus, we got a pretty good night's sleep too which was, of course, important. We tend to stay at quite a few Holiday Inn Expresses, and this one was definitely one of the best ones we'd ever stayed at. If I ever find myself needing a hotel in Brandon again, I would be happy to stay here again.

The room was clean and the front desk were smiling and helpful. The only remark is that you can hear all the conversations in the rooms on both side and the water noise everytime someone uses the faucets and tub upstairs.
