The Howard Plaza Hotel has an excellent location, very close to Daan Forest Park and Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT Station. The surrounding area has a full range of amenities and is very safe. The staff are attentive and friendly. As an older hotel, the facilities are a bit dated, and the room decor has a classic, slightly old-fashioned feel, but all of this is perfectly acceptable. The only downside was that the room number sign on my floor (I think it was the 6th floor, facing Ren'ai Road) seemed to be incorrect, directing me in the wrong direction from the elevator. I walked all the way to the end of the hall and couldn't find my room, so I had to turn back and eventually found it in the opposite direction. It was a bit frustrating. I hope they can fix that sign.

Hotel lobby was under renovation, hence it was noisy, luckily they helped us change to our room that is further away from the renovation noise. I booked this hotel because of the swimming pool. The pool looked big in the photo, but actually it’s quite small. They have sauna and hot bath place, which was nice. The price I paid for the room at the time was a good value given it Sheraton maybe it’s because it was under renovation in the lobby and there was some noise but other than that everything was OK.

I stayed here nine years ago, and its convenient location was a major plus, as was the attractive window design in the rooms back then. The facilities are still decent now, but they're starting to feel a bit outdated. The air conditioning temperature control is inaccurate; it's either too cold or too humid and hot. The lack of disposable toiletries, and even conditioner, is quite inconvenient, but I respect the environmental policy. As I've gotten older, my sleep has become lighter, and I've started to notice how poor the soundproofing is. I could constantly hear the elevator doors opening, and even feel the vibrations from the trains downstairs. The price was a bit high during the holiday season, but it's still a good option given its downtown location.

I stayed for 5 consecutive nights, and from my room, I could see Taipei's landmarks like Taipei 101 and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Every day, I could also grab free snacks from the hotel's 'gan-a-pu' (a small convenience store), and they even provided a small bag for them, which was a thoughtful touch. The only minor drawback was one night when I was woken up by some noise. I called the front desk, and they immediately sent staff up to investigate. They said it was a pipe sound. After inspection and repair, the noise stopped, so their efficiency was quite high.

Some hotels give you a room. Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei gave us a base for a trip we'll talk about for years. From the moment we walked in, the place felt considered, elegant without being cold, warm without losing its polish. That balance is rare, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Traveling with kids changes what matters most in a stay, and this hotel understood that instinctively. My children felt safe here, genuinely safe, the kind of safe that let them run ahead in the lobby and laugh without me flinching. Security throughout the property was excellent, present but never intrusive, the kind of quiet competence that lets a family actually relax instead of staying on guard. The location did the rest. Close enough to walk to some of Taipei's best food, the kind of meals that turn into stories you tell later, and near enough to the city's main sites that our days felt full without ever feeling rushed. Every outing started and ended easily, which meant more time enjoying Taipei and less time managing logistics. Back at the hotel each evening, the rooms were spacious, immaculate, and quietly luxurious, the kind of space that makes you want to slow down. Staff treated our kids with the same warmth and respect they showed us, which matters more than most hotels realize. This wasn't just a comfortable stay. It was a beautiful one, the kind that makes you rethink what a family trip can feel like when everything, safety, comfort, location, care, comes together the way it should. We left grateful, and we'll be back.

The hotel is located near to the Zhongxiao Dunhua station (exit 3) and walking distance from Ming Yao Department Store, Taipei Dome, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. There are also many convenience stores within the vicinity and famous donut stores nearby. During our stay, we travelled by foot from the hotel to Pokemon Center Taipei, Taipei 101 and even to Linjiang Night Market.  The room is spacious. There are bathtub and shower in our room, but due to the law in Taiwan, please prepare your own toothbrush and toothpaste. There are also luggage weighing machine and coin-laundry machines in a small room on the floor where they serve breakfast. While not to expect a widespread of choices, I think their breakfast selection is a decent combination of local dishes and western options. Special mention that their pineapples are very sweet! If you are interested, you may also check out over the counter on the selection of local products that can be ordered and delivered to the hotel. It may save you trouble to locate some of the famous brands in Taipei. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Green World Zhongxiao.

I’ve seen a lot of videos recommending this hotel so i booked it. Location is great but it’s not near to the station, you have to walk around 10-15mins to Ximen station and about 20mins to Taipei main station. Staffs were just neutral, not super friendly but they do their jobs. Check in was smooth (they have 24hrs front desk) and I requested for 2 additional pillows (they only provided 2 in the room) and they granted my request with no additional payments. What i didn’t know is how thin the walls are and We got unlucky with the room next to us. He set an alarm almost every minute with different ring tones. And he didn’t wake up from his own alarm 🥲I went down to front desk and earplugs were given for free. We ended up canceling our 1st day trip due to lack of sleep. By the next night, I sleep better (but still keep waking up because earplugs hurt my ears) ‼️thin walls and noisy ceiling (i think it’s from the pressure when someone is using the water idk) ✅super cold ac (good for summer)

The location is good, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, which makes getting around very convenient. The lobby is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, considering the overall standard of the hotel, I expected better maintenance of the room. The bathroom felt quite dated, and the shower curtain did not prevent the water from getting onto the bathroom floor. I also noticed stains on the carpet and a towel with a hole in it. Considering the price I paid, I expected a higher standard of room maintenance. Overall, the stay was okay, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of maintenance.

A thoroughly satisfying stay experience.

This is probably the most cost-effective hotel in Taipei. The room size is decent, but it's definitely showing its age. There was a stale, sweaty smell in both the room and the hallway. The executive lounge service was excellent, no complaints there. However, the front desk service on the first floor was absolutely terrible. An elderly lady couldn't hear what the staff member was saying, and the short-haired staff member repeated herself several times with extreme impatience, then threw things and rolled her eyes, which was quite disgusting. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and it was very noisy at night. The low service score is due to the front desk; the F&B and the executive lounge staff were all very professional.

Decent hotel for budget travelers who prefer to be out all day rather than indulge in amenities. The concierge on Basement 1 has a selection of free snacks (crackers, biscuits etc.) and cup noodles you can just swipe for the day's itinerary. Daily breakfast offers congee, rice, and about 3-4 entrees, and a coffee machine (espresso or americano). The deluxe triple room we booked was spacious as was the bathroom. Room details were average and new-ish. The heavy curtains concealed old steel windows. Beddings and towels were changed every other day or so but could be also changed upon request. Staff was helpful and could communicate well in English.  We appreciated its nearness to multiple 7-11s, Watsons, and bakeries. The Peace Park, National Taiwan Museum, and MRT station (NTU Hospital) were just a block away.

1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Thank you for your attention.

This is my second time staying here, and the front desk staff are just as friendly and provide excellent service as before. I really love ********* culture! 🥰🥰 I'm very satisfied with my stay; they even upgraded our room, which made me really happy! 🥰 The lobby environment is consistently great, and it's very suitable for families with children. The location is super convenient too – there's a FamilyMart and 7-Eleven downstairs, as well as a foot massage place. Just a 3-minute walk from the hotel, you'll find a Sanrio-themed 7-Eleven, and right opposite that is the entrance to Ximen Underground Street. It's only a 9-minute walk to Ximending 'TAIPEI' - Rainbow Six. 🤩 Getting around by subway is also very convenient! 👍🏻👍🏻

I stayed for five days and four nights continuously. The staff provided excellent and patient service. The hotel also offered a free postcard mailing service. The hotel facilities were a pleasant surprise, as they not only had self-service washing machines and dryers (with irons, detergent, etc.) but also a variety of teas, coffees, and welcome drinks. The lobby also had various child-friendly facilities. The location is also very close to Taipei Main Station, making it extremely convenient for traveling to and from surrounding cities, completely hassle-free.

📍 Location & Surroundings: The location is incredibly convenient, right near Taipei Main Station. The area is bustling with tons of options for food and souvenirs. However, it's worth noting that most places nearby are grab-and-go, so if you're looking for a sit-down restaurant, your choices might be more limited. 🎠 Unique Lobby & Family-Friendly: The reception lobby on the 4th floor is very unique, with a charming American retro and playful design, and it even has a kids' play area. The lobby thoughtfully provides free bottled water, hot and cold beverages, afternoon tea snacks, and various treats. The kids had a fantastic time playing here! 🛏️ Room Space & Design (A bit disappointing): The room space was smaller and more basic than expected. There was only one chair in the room, so if two people wanted to sit and relax, they had to take turns. Also, the room's design wasn't very practical; for instance, the desk wasn't facing the TV, making watching TV a bit awkward.

Shuttle bus from mrt station was on time, reception service was great. Room was dimly lit for the intended ambience. Use a swimwear that you intend to toss afterwards because of the sulphur smell cus the milktea looking onsen water smell will linger. Outdoor onsen was much better than private room onsen because of the view and rainy-cooling weather. Felt like heaven soaking in their 39-43 degree celcius hot pools & their cool pools. Kinda far from the restaurant/ eateries outside so prepare to take the shuttle bus out or uber, if not you can just pay more for the japanese restaurant. Travel adapters can be borrowed at a refundable 200NTD deposit. Overall, I believe this is the best “outdoor” onsen experience in Beitou. But i’m sure there are better indoor options.

Very lovely room and friendly staff! Everything was clean and even though I arrived a little early they picked me up at the station an I was allowed to check in. Place was quiet since it was off season but I felt safe as a solo traveller the whole time, plus it was walkable to the majority of the places of interest in Beitou as well as more local areas such as the market. If anything maybe a zabuton or some sort of cushion to comfortably sit at the table on the tatami would be nice :)

The room is clean and big. There is also a small patio ,but unfortunately it was raining, so we didn't get to enjoy it much. The spring bath inside the room is a bonus, very relaxing and no need to go through the hassle of being naked in public bath. The spring water bath made my skin smooth and soft. The hotel also has public bath and will offer 2 free entries during our one night stay. Will definitely consider to come back again as it's so convenient to get to, only 35 minutes from Taipei station.

The hotel can be accessed through the basement via exit M6 (staircase but sheltered) and M8 (escalator, but need to cross the road). The downside of the room is the aircon faces and blows directly on the face when laying on the bed. It can be disturbing when sleeping. The hot water shower and basin tap is a challenge to adjust, as it is not the normal turn to the red sign for hot water.The front desk staff are not friendly, they usually do not have smiles.

She greeted us whenever we passed by the reception counter. Only the hotel will keep on calling you to leave room to check out which is quite irritating. Anyway Peiyu and the Room Attendant auntie is friendly and always provide top notch service. Humble house is a great choice

The room facilities were well-maintained, and the front desk service was excellent. The hotel's location is superb, with convenient transportation. However, the deposit issue has been a hassle. It's been three weeks since I returned home, and more than 15 business days have passed, but the deposit still hasn't been refunded! I've contacted the hotel twice and my bank, but it's still unresolved! Usually, deposits are refunded instantly upon checkout. I've never encountered such a poorly managed 5-star hotel; it's truly unacceptable!

Hygiene: There's a magnetic sticker on the door, so you can request daily cleaning. The housekeeping staff are incredibly efficient; the room was sparkling clean by the time I finished breakfast. Facilities: The room isn't small, and the window offers a view of Ximending street. It has a smart TV for screen mirroring, so you can watch Netflix and YouTube. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. Disposable slippers are provided, but not disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, or shower caps. The soundproofing is good, but the air conditioning fan is too loud, even on the lowest setting. The breakfast menu changes daily and is mostly Western. Free drinks and snacks are available from afternoon to evening. Environment: It's right next to Ximen MRT Station, and there's a bus stop nearby that goes to almost all city attractions. Ximending is just around the corner, very lively at night with lots of food options. Downstairs, there's a Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven, an Animate manga store, and a Family Mart. Service: The front desk staff are all very patient and enthusiastic, with excellent service attitudes. Free luggage storage is available. Overall, it's a great hotel. No weaknesses.

Location: 10/10 Connected to all the public transport (A bit of a trek to taipei main station or ximen station, but not bad at all) Amenities: didn’t do much at the hotel but we enjoyed the breakfast buffet (although it would be better to ask us to settle the bill before we are seated or after we ate, not when we’re in the middle of stuffing our faces with food. It was a bit annoying.) Service: omg our room was maintained well and I told the front desk my partner is celebrating his bday and they sent some gifts to our room! The front desk also was great with giving recommendations. I like this hotel. It was an awesome stay! I have a video of our room but I don’t think I can upload it.

Very good hotel in a very good location however the room smelt like mould. I was certainly it was coming from the air-conditioning as the second room that we got on our second stay do not smell the same. It was a special occasion however we had not gotten any special amenities despite at least three confirmation emails sent in advance. we had also checked in at 5 pm which as well beyond the check-in time however the room was not ready and check into around 20 minutes. The nail and the coffin was the spa that was undergoing maintenance which made it was not able to be used by its hotel guests . Overall unsatisfactory stay given the price we paid however overall still a very good property in terms of its hardware.

We had a great stay here. There was a minor incident that happened but the duty managers, Lucy and Yuki were quick to make it right. Only small bit I would recommend is for staff at breakfast to be more courteous and polite. The chef in charge of eggs can be grumpy and moody while the male manager at the restaurant could be more polite when informing guests of breakfast coming to an end.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at JR Hotel. The hotel features grand and upscale hardware facilities with a sophisticated, elegant interior design. The rooms are very spacious, and the mattress is extremely comfortable, offering an excellent resting experience. The front desk team provides meticulous and thoughtful Japanese-style hospitality. The overall service quality is impressive, and every detail is well arranged. I am fully satisfied with the entire stay experience and will definitely come back again! ay smooth and pleasant. Highly recommended, and I will definitely choose to stay here again in the future!

Perhaps it's because I've stayed at more five-star hotels, but the Mandarin Oriental Taipei didn't quite give me that luxurious feeling. The welcome amenity was just two small desserts and a cup of rosella tea, which was a bit disappointing. Also, I dined at Tajima Tei within the hotel, and when I checked in earlier, I asked if there was a discount for dining, but the staff said no. This was a bit inconsistent with reality (in fact, presenting the room card waives the service charge), which was a small letdown. Furthermore, the hairdryer was a not-so-premium Tescom, which was a minor shame. Everything else was good, and I would still consider staying here again.

Good location. Near Liao Ning night market. Wet market just behind the hotel, I managed to buy roast chicken in one morning and roast fish in another morning. The fish is really fresh, soft and nice. Best breakfast I had. Liao Ning market Oysters egg tried twice. Nice stay.

The location is great, wished it was slightly closer to the MRT station (around 10 minute walk from Nanjing Sanmin Station). Only 5 minute walk from Raohe Night Market so you don't need to worry about what to eat every night. The hotel is well kept and very clean, we were assigned to a room in B1, no views but not a big issue. Breakfast is available for additional fee (200 NTD per person). Hotel staffs were very helpful and friendly. No gym at the facility but I think it's fairly common for the hotels in this price range in Taipei. We were out and about during the day, the hotel provided us a good night sleep every day of our stay. Overall I recommended this facility.

It was pretty close to Da’An metro station, approximately about 5 mins walk. Room was alittle rustic and there are two lifts. I wouldn’t put too high of an expectations over their onsen or private sauna but is nice to have it especially if it gets too cold . Overall, I will say is definitely convenient to get around from the hotel. Bed was comfortable but there aren’t any Taipei 101 views, as there are tons of new architecture being built. You can still walk along back alley to witness the majestic night view of the city.

He was incredibly kind, patient and helpful with every question I had, from local transport to recommending places. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely attentive and warm. Raymond made my stay in Taipei so much more comfortable, huge thanks to him! I hope he comes to Italy one day, so I can return the favor.

I personally feel that this hotel is in a very 'local' area. How do I put it? It feels like living alongside ********* people, surrounded by their daily lives. The night market is 'right next door,' and the entire street downstairs is filled with everyday shops, markets, and food stalls that cater to locals. It's a bit far from Taipei Main Station (over 1km), but about a 10-minute walk to Shuanglian MRT Station. The hotel staff are all great – from the front desk gentlemen and office ladies to the cleaning staff and canteen employees, everyone is polite and has a good attitude. The breakfast was delicious.
