Over the years we have always loved staying at the Victoria Hotel, and is always our first choice, as it is central, well priced, staff are great and rooms are always clean.
However our recent one night stay staff mixed up our room with my next reservation and the lady I spoke to on the phone was quite rude when I told her we had a twin room booked not a double and would like to change. (Not a huge deal to us but one we wanted changed) Down at reception this was fixed up by a lovely man who couldn’t apologies enough for the mix up.
Once changing our rooms we noticed that the toilet in the new room was leaking all over the bathroom floor when flushed. We did tell reception which was the same lady I spoke to on the phone, she told us she would get someone to come and fix it, which wasn’t a problem again as we were out the rest of the time. I also mention there was no tv remote as I didn’t want to get the blame. Later In The night when we returned the toilet had not been fixed but they had bought a remote. As it was very late and we were checking out the next day we didn’t bother with reception but did let them know again on check out.
Hopefully this issue was a once off.
We stayed there one night as we have booked the hot air balloon flight. Thus, didnt have much opportunity to use any facility except the restaurant. We had dinner there and food and wine were great. However, we noticed that some staff werent paying much attention to asian guests. While serving the food up to western guest, the staff was introducing the food in details but not to us. Furthermore, it took a long while to get our desserts.

Close to the train station, restaurants and attractions. Clean room, comfortable bed, well functioning shower. The staff are all friendly and helpful.
Suggestion: free water for guests and a rack or tray to put guest shampoo or soap.
I arrived at late check-in time on 2/11 Sunday and Mildua Inlander's staff was after office hour so I contacted to staff for room check-in by phone call, Staff are so helpful to help me to collect the room key and required admin work. However, due to the resort's layout and my room location(my room is ROOM 90), the circulation of the hotel is not poor, poor room ordering(it is not by 101 for on 1/F like typical hotel, it is using 1-50 for G/F, 51-100 for level 1; if 101-110 for block 1, 121-129 for block 2, 131-139 for block 3, 141-150 for block 4 would be better), no coherent corridor at the end, not much signage and map/easy to miss, no Lift or easy ramp for level 1. so, it is hard to find my room and poor experience before entry the room.
Room is good for me. One thing is: can consider to have openable window after the mosquito net on the balcony sliding door if I don't want to turn on the air-conditioner.
NOTE FOR EVERYONE : $150 DEPOSIT
This property should update deposit policy on booking app. When I booked it, I called the hotel regarding deposit and they said it depends on the room I've booked, and the deposit will be between $1-100.
When I came in, I need to pay $150 for deposit which is wrong information from them before. It's better to state it clearly on booking app so everyone can prepare for it.
Deposit payment return to my account in 7 days.
There is no issue with other things when I stayed in this hotel. My family really loved it. The tram stop just in front of the hotel and only takes 10 minutes to CBD.
We stayed in Family 2 bedroom that has city view on 10th floors. Facilities are great, it has washing and dryer machines which is really helpful for someone that has baby or kids.
For budget hotel, I would say this is the best experience and value that I've ever stayed in Melbourne. I paid $177 for 2 bedroom on the weekend stayed.
Definitely will be back someday.

Pretty much one of the very few more affordable hotel accommodation in Lorne. Free parking on site. No lifts but only stairs to access rooms above the ground floor. Has ironing board. Interesting layout where there are stairs up to the toilet. Given free bottle of wine and chocolates for anniversary celebration. Sadly the room was not very well maintained - spider web on window and window a bit worn. Toilet also has pee smell. Came with breakfast which was ok.

We had a lovely stay at Crowne — the room, facilities, and overall experience were excellent. Everything was comfortable and well-presented, and we really enjoyed our time there.
However, we did request room cleaning on the first day, and unfortunately no one came. We had to follow up with the concierge the next day to have it arranged.
Given the price point, this was a little disappointing as we expected a more seamless level of service. That said, aside from this hiccup, everything else was very good.

Overall, the hotel is very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are in good condition most of the time as they are cleaned up to five times a day. Kitchen utensils and storage place are provided and there are enough for everyone to share comfortably.
The facilities are great — there’s a lounge, rooftop area, small movie theatre, gym, and even call booths for private calls.
Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here!

Great hotel with excellent service and value for money. I accidentally left 700 AUD in the room safe after check-out and only realized it at the airport. The staff handled it quickly and professionally, and I got my money back without any hassle.
The hotel feels very safe and quiet, the room is spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff are friendly. The location is perfect — opposite Southern Cross Station, easy for trains and the airport, with a Coles supermarket across the street. The area is very walkable. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI spent a long time choosing this hotel on the platform before my trip to Melbourne. The listing mentioned it was a new opening in December 2025, and the location looked fantastic – right next to Queen Victoria Market with tram stops just downstairs, making it super easy to get to all the attractions.
I was in Room 506. However, after checking in, I noticed two lights in the room weren't working, as shown in the picture. Since there's no main ceiling light, my friend and I had to rely on just one corridor light, three small desk lamps, and natural light from the window to get around the room. This made putting on makeup really inconvenient. The bathroom lighting was also quite warm-toned, and it felt a bit cramped with both of us trying to get ready in there.
The bedding was clean, which was good. But, we found leftover paper scraps from the previous guest in the rubbish bin, and there was even some product packaging left in the storage cabinet near the entrance.
The hotel appears to be a renovation, as the air conditioning control panel was yellowed and looked quite old.
It's worth noting this isn't a traditional hotel; it's a serviced apartment. I've previously stayed at serviced apartments from brands like Stey and Habyt on short-term rentals, and based on this experience, I feel lyf still has a lot of room for improvement.

Great
DDDDoDDDThe bed size in the room didn't match what was advertised. The website stated a 'deluxe king-size bed,' which should typically be 1.8m. However, as shown in the picture, it was actually a queen-size bed, approximately 1.5m. My large suitcase is 80cm, and at 1.77m tall, I was significantly taller than the bed's width. A manager named Nicolas told me that this is considered an Australian standard king-size. However, I study in Sydney and have a king-size bed at home, and all king-size beds sold in Australian furniture stores are 1.8m. I'm not sure which 'Australia' he was referring to. As an airport hotel, the soundproofing of the windows wasn't particularly good; I could still hear cars from downstairs. Despite this being a hotel issue, Trip.com was very patient and responsible in their coordination and communication. The front desk staff, Tarek, had an excellent service attitude and paid great attention to detail.
GGuest UserWe stayed in the four bedroom apartment for an inner city holiday with another family.
The location is superb, so close to everything and there is a tram directly out the front. The room was spacious enough, quiet and very reasonably priced.
Not the cleanest apartment we've ever stayed in, but it is reasonable for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is super convenient, right in the heart of Box Hill, with a shopping plaza and train station just downstairs. You can even see the trains passing by from the window. The room was very spacious and had a balcony. However, the bed was too soft for my liking and not very comfortable to sleep on.
GGuest UserBooked 2 rooms and upgraded to a corner room with views only to spend the whole stay in darkness with no views or natural light as the electric drapes were not working and multiple attempts to fix by maintenance were not succesf. Was told they were coming back to fix but when I went to reception at 7:45pm to ask why they’re not fixed I was told they determined they could not fix until a later date, Requested a room refund from Crown which was declined. Very poor experience and will be taking the request for refund further. With no natural light it was akin to staying in a large dormitory.

EeMGee_Good location. Just in front of the tram stop Russel Street on Bourke. There's a Thai & Japanese Restaurant downstairs as well. Front desk is extremely helpful & jolly. Bed is just right. Room is clean. There's a hair dryer, iron, safe, but no toothbrush, I didn't ask, but maybe it's upon request. The good thing about Citadines on Bourke is they have a full kitchen with plates & silverware. We didn't use it, but having a microwave is definitely a plus. They didn't clean daily, but maybe you can ask. But it wasn't an issue for us. We didn't need it anyway. Overall it was a good place to stay in Melbourne, we feel it's very central and near good places to be at.

GGuest UserThis is an older five-star hotel with decent service. Its location is similar to Tsim Sha Tsui East in Hong Kong – quiet, with many famous shops, bars, and Western restaurants nearby. However, you'll notice a lot of tourists around when you step outside.
The breakfast is pretty good and acceptable, offering standard fare like bread, eggs, coffee, cheese, ham, and fruit – all the daily essentials.
The main drawback is that the hotel is too close to the two adjacent buildings. There are very few rooms with a view; most rooms get little to no sunlight throughout the day and require the curtains to be drawn almost constantly.
The bathroom is particularly bad. The shower screen only covers half the area, so water inevitably splashes all over the floor, making it a mess. This means you often have to use bath towels to dry the floor, leading to constantly wet carpets and very dirty towels in the long run.
