After reading the reviews I decided to book an economy single room in the Berce Hotel. The reviews appeared to be mixed. When I arrived I was taken down to the dreaded basement room. It feels like a storage room that was converted into a single room below street level. Taking into account the star rating of the Hotel and the the relative price of my economy room the room wasn’t too bad. It’s not a place for luxury but being a solo traveller and just needing a place to sleep and get washed it was adequate. I get the feeling that if you pay the least you will likely be given this room. The fridge barely worked (Not reliable) and the TV wasn’t great. It is also below street level so expect to hear the street noise early in the morning. But if you just need a bed to sleep and a place to get washed (a shower)then it should suffice. Just remember there will likely be street noise as it’s below ground level. The location of the Hotel was great for seeing all the local sights. When the penthouse suite became available the owner kindly upgraded me for my final few nights. The view of the Bosporus from the top was fantastic. Very different from the basement room. The lesson I learned from this experience is you get what you pay for…if you pay cheap then don’t expect any frills..but you can’t beat the location or the view from the penthouse suite. As a solo traveller simply interested in a bed for the night with washing facilities conveniently located I would stay again if visiting Istanbul in the future. The owner was very helpful too in providing local advice and the boat trip on the Bosporus he arranged was one of my favourite excursions. One point I would change if given my time again would be to go further afield to buy my local sim. The cheapest deal the local shop at the end of the road did was a 25 Gb Turkcall deal… whereas otherTurkcell shops in the area gave the option of a 10Gb deal which came at a much cheaper price.

We loved it! So close to everything you want to see. The people are very friendly and the value you get is incredible. They arranged for airport transfer etc too, felt like family. Only couple blocks from hagia Sofia and all major atractions

We stayed at this hotel three nights during our city break in Istanbul. The location is excellent, as the hotel is situated in the hard of the city, near to every touristic point. Great value for money, especially that the parking is across the street (and is this city you really need a safe parking place). Staff is polite and very friendly, rooms are clean but not very big but are ok if you are planning to spend to much time in it. Breakfast is satisfactory, reflected in the price – as I mentioned this is great value for money. I will consider to stay at this hotel again at my next stay in Istanbul Enjoy,

С одной стороны мы знали куда ехали, что это эконом вариант, но хотелось бы получить минимум комфорта, но когда приезжаешь и что на улице, что в комнате 11 градусов и нет отопления и очеися залезть в горячий душ, а там и там облом, то настроение и впечатление портится в разы. Сначала спустились на ресепшн с просьбой решить проблему, на что нам сказали, есть обогреватель в комнате и через час там потеплеет. В обогревателе одна работающая лампа и естественно теплее не стало, щели в двери не помогают в распространении тепла. Написали в мтс тревел где покупался отель, они связались с отелем и нам принесли ещё один обогреватель) но на ночь его не оставишь, комната обшита деревянной вагонкой, места нет, да и обогреватель особо не внушает доверия. Включили кондиционер на тепло, так и жили. С горячей водой нам сказали, ну вы из России, вам должно быть привычно жить в холоде, ну такое себе решение проблемы, благо через час слили воду и полилась долгожданная горячая струйка). В ванне дико холодно и очень воняло канализацией. Вообщем так и прожили 4 ночи. На третий день попросили убраться, чтобы поменяли полотенца, потому что они не сопли, выкинуть мусор и добавить туалетную бумагу. Что нам сделали? Заправил кровать, кинули в малюсенький шкаф, где лежали наши вещи, одной большой кучей дополнительный плед, которым мы укрывались и забрали пульт от кондиционера) видимо много жгли электричества. Вообщем нам уже не хотелось ругаться, просто пережить ночь и свалить. Из плюсов это очень милые хозяева, всегда улыбаются, здороваются, поздравили с днем рождения. Шведка небольшая, варёные яйца, овощи, хлеб, сыр, колбаса, чай,кофе. Расположение 5 минут до Айя София, т к жили на крыше, красивый вид на София и кусочек босфора.

We were met by a guy called Dennis. He was very polite and very patient with all of our questions. The room was very clean and had a nice roof top balcony to enjoy the views. Dennis was a very happy guy and makes you feel immediately welcome when you enter. I would definately go back there if I was to visit again. The local traditional Turkish food around the corner he suggested did not disappoint. For the price of a kebab in the center you can get to enjoy their traditional dishes and be very full for half the price, we went back twice. I forgot the name of it unfortunately but a great recommendation 👍

Very comfortable stay! The room was clean and had everything we needed. Unexpectedly, I was impressed by the kitchen. There was an electric kettle and we enjoyed coffee and tea. There was also a microwave, so it was easy to heat up a meal in the evening. The bedding was soft and comfortable. And most importantly, the showers were nice! The showers in this hotel are the warmest in Turkey. The owners are very caring and easy to contact if you need anything. The Grand Bazaar is close by and was a fun place to shop. There is also a supermarket nearby. I wish I could have stayed in this hotel more often. I would use this hotel again! Thank you very much.

thank you flat company - excuse the delay in putting the review online this was our third stay at the karakoy apartments we had book just as covid hit and kindly our lost booking was honoured in november this year 2022 the apartment are an economy stay they set in an area surround by hardware / builders stores that come alive early morning full of local bustle - with some small food shops and restaurants we have always felt safe journeying home in daylight and after dark they are local and within easy reach of so many places - galata - fatih - karakoy - two bridge over the bosphurous - endless backstreet shopping and eateries and bars - ferries to the islands - many of the famous tourist attractions - buses - trains - airport transfer plus plus there are a small amount of cooking utensils provided in each apartment it can be difficult to find alcohol (off licence) in some area so stock up if you see it - cork screw and bottle openers in rooms we have nothing be thanks to all the staff ( on each visit) for their kindness and their willingness to go the extra to help you enjoy your stay hope to be back soon there is so much to see and experience in istanbul again many thanks j and a

Great experience. Very convenient. Blue Mosque is literally two minutes walk so is Aayasofia. Very friendly staff. Specifically the hotel manager Mohammed very helpful. He guides you properly so you don’t get ripped off as a tourist.

Отель оставил двоякое впечатление. С одной стороны прекрасное месторасположение, относительно свежий ремонт, просторный номер с кухней. С другой стороны бросались в глаза какие-то мелочи: замок не закрывался изнутри, т.к. ответная планка была врезана не на том уровне, шкаф в ванной закрывал розетку, поэтому розетка была вынута из стены и висела на проводах, держатель для полотенца был оторван и висел на одном болтающемся саморезе, антенна в телевизор заведена так, что кабель переломился (в итоге телевизор не работал). Холодильник плохо закрывался, в итоге когда мы заехали вся морозилка представляла из себя одну монолитную глыбу льда. Возможно, кому-то это покажется важным, но нас это не могло огорчить, поэтому в целом нам все понравилось. Желаю персоналу отеля как можно быстрее устранить эти досадные мелочи и получать от постояльцев абсолютно положительные отзывы.

I am staying in Istanbul for the week and found this place in the faith region local to me . It has a really nice atmosphere and the food was great too . Definitely worth popping in for food and drinks even if not staying at the hotel . The service was great and the staff are friendly
