PPengguna TetamuStayed at Lylo for 3-4 days and it’s probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. You check in on a device however there is a receptionist near in case you need anything. The design is amazing as well as the communal rooms/work spaces, it’s very new and renovated at the moment so it looks really great. There’s free wifi, a communal kitchen and bathrooms on each floor. There’s also a restaurant and bar, you get a card for one free drink too! I stayed in a private room and shared bathroom, the floor was super clean and quiet. The room itself was cute and tidy, we were missing a few things such as a rubbish bin (didn’t know the rooms came with one until we saw someone else on our floor with one). I think it would’ve of been nice if the room came with a television or a safe, however the room was great for the price so can’t complain too much :) location is central and easy access to everything within the city.
NNattayaneeThe bed was really comfortable. Everything was good.
Staff was vey nice and helpful.
However there was one thing that disappointed me so much, the elevator was not working. I choosed this hostel because I have a huge and heavy luggage and the hostel's detail show that there is an elevator in the hostel but when I arrived the staff told me that it's broken and under repair around 1 month already. I felt like I was scammed by the advertisement but luckily the receptionist come and help me carry my luggage. Anyway, please update this information to customer if I was informed about it in advance I might not be this disappointed.
PPengguna TetamuIdeal location to explore Auckland. Clean, tidy and bright. Facilities and all amenities are considerately provided. Staff are so kind, helpful and hospitable. My encounter with Jamie in the front desk was a happy, serendipitous and memorable experience. He tried to help and delight me in every way possible. With my injured waist, he even helped me to carry my luggage downstairs. The feeling and vibe was extraordinarily positive. I recommend.
PPengguna TetamuWe were a group of 9 people (2 adults and 7 youth) and we had booked a 6 bedroom and a 4 bedroom apartment. Upon arriving at the Best Western we were advised that we had been given a free room upgrade from a 4 bedroom to a 7 bedroom suite. It was fantastic with enough room for everyone to join in together in one of the apartments for meals etc. In both apartments we had a main bedroom downstairs with kitchen, bathroom etc and then upstairs were the additional beds with own bathroom. Kitchens were big enough for us to cook and make lunches for our day trips. Everything was clean and tidy. The only unfortunate thing was that the 6 bedroom apartment had a lingering smell of fish emanating from the fridge but it was clean and we managed to ignore it.
PPengguna TetamuTotally disappointed in our two night stay here. This premise also goes under the name 'Auckland Airport Kiwi Hotel' and Auckland Airport Kiwi Backpackers', the Backpackers has now been turned into what is called 'Premier studio apartments'.'. When we arrived the lady at reception stated that she had only debited our card for the first night, we were to pay for our second night when checking out. Our 'Premier Studio Apartment' was clearly an ex backpacker room, our lawn view was 2 mtrs of unmown grass which looked straight into the rooms across from us. The room was clean enough but extremely under equipped. We had booked for 3 people, we had 2 towels, 2 facecloths, no hand towel, no tea towel or dish cloth. After the 3rd ask for these items we finally received two extra facecloths to be used as a tea towel and dishcloth, eww! The kitchen had 1 fork, 1 teaspoon, 3 knives and large spoons, 1 glass, no wine glasses. Odd cups and plates of various sizes. There was a microwave and hotplates but no other utensils at all besides the bits and pieces mentioned. No Ice tray. No coathangers. The bathroom light flickered constantly, there was rubbish under the beds, and on further inspection, the fire alarm did not contain a battery. (illegal) On checking out was told that our account had been settled. Inspection of bank account showed that our 2nd night had been deducted two hours after we had checked in and an extra $4.50 had been taken. Asked on their chat window (which is how we booked our stay due to no one answering the phone, ever) and was emailed back, them stating that this extra cost was due to paying by Visa. No mention of this throughout our booking or on their website. Would not stay here again.
PPengguna TetamuHalf Moon Bay Marina Motel is a pleasant experience exceeding our expectations. We and our dog were welcomed with open arms. The rooms are spacious, including kitchen, tidy and well maintained. Good price for our 4 day stay - we will return whenever we are in Auckland. Thank you for making our short holiday that little more relaxed. Especially being able to stroll a short distance to the Marina Fresh Choice for fresh espresso and pastries.
This property has much to offer but let's themselves down on the smaller details. Rooms were huge and well appointed, quiet, great off street parking and extremely comfortable. However many items were not overly clean, outdoor area littered, window sills, oven, microwave, fridge and crockery/cutlery needed attention. Before daring to eat off crockery or drink from glasses (that were filthy) we had to clean, they were unhygienic. Oven had leftovers on the base, microwave had splatter from previous guests and fridge was not clean. Given COVID I would have expected a much higher level of cleaning however they have obviously relied on previous guests to clean sufficiently, this was not the case. However when we addressed with cleaning staff they were lovely and accommodating and cleaned window sills. We arrived at 1700hrs we had anticipated an earlier arrival but due to flight delays we were a few hours later (reception open until 1900hrs so we were not concerned) however was closed. We called the number on the door and were given a lockbox number, keys retrieved to room but they had not been allocated and we could not access. Thankfully another couple had already called reception and they were en-route so this problem was solved quickly. Also staff advised that we had been inadvertently charged twice and refund was in process however 7 days later no refund for over-charge has been processed. This is a great property, cleaning ladies were lovely but Management just need to get the basics right. Reception should be available as stated, rooms and amenities should be cleaned and outdoor areas need attention. I would stay here again and I can recommend but please Management address the issues we have raised. This will elevate your property rating considerably with little effort. I would have liked to address these issues directly with Management however as we were busy and office often closed, we did not have the opportunity to address directly when we were in residence.
We recently stayed in the deluxe two bedroom family apartment (#31 upstairs & #21 downstairs), before & after our trip to Rarotonga. We were a group of 2 couples. Parking was right outside our room which was fantastic. Indicate a downstairs room if you do not want to carry your bags up the stairs. Rooms were great & all that we needed, with 2 separate bedrooms & a large enough kitchen/dining area & bathroom. TV, aircon's, & free wifi were all operational at the time of our stay. Room cleanliness I would rate a 3.5 out of 5 (our room was not dirty as many past reviews have indicated - some historical staining & tired areas contributed to a lower score). I will give the owners a few suggested tweaks & feedback directly to them in a separate email. To have free secure carparking while we were away & free shuttle service to/from the airport was bonus & fantastic!! You will need to load your own bags onto the shuttle trailer ~600mm off the ground, but if you are not prepared to lift your own bags then you should not pack a heavy bag & expect someone else to injure their back lifting it. We had an amazing Indian dinner delivered to our door the first night from Indian Express at 149 D Kirkbride Rd (menu's are in the rooms), pay over the phone or upon delivery. We also checked out the Post Office Public House only a few minutes from the Airport Lodge at 55 Montgomerie Rd for lunch - which was fabulous!! We would stay again & recommend as a good value option for a group, considering room configuration, service available & proximity to the airport.
FFJP84Not what we thought we had booked at. When we checked in, we were told we had been ”upgraded”. OMG! Wish we had gone back and said don't bother. The ”room” was a suite of very odd rooms. The shower (broken 70's tiles on bottom, shower curtain, pump for water) looked like it had previously been a cupboard, as did the vanity. And the toilet - the door only just made it past the small wall hung basin to close. The bed - well the bed base was literally on the floor. Mattress old, soft and terrible. Only my husband had a bedside table. I was however grateful for the fluffy white towels and clean sheets........thank god they have the nous to outsource to a professional laundry service like most other accommodation suppliers . I slept with one eye open the whole time, as did not feel particularly safe.Would have been nice to know before we booked that their main clientele are perhaps MSD clients. The pool is dirty and surrounded by mossy paving and old discarded outdoor furniture.
GGorgeousI needed a hotel room with 2 rooms in it for 6 people.
Somehow the booking booked in 2 hotel rooms with 2 rooms in each and therefore could sleep 12 people.
I think it is a description thing - communication went wrong
I did ask but the receptionist could not give me a refund .. we end up using both hotel rooms any way.
This is not a complaint.
This is only to raise your awareness to the description of 2 rooms - means 2 rooms in the one hotel accomondation vs 2 hotel accomondation
The location is amazingly close to the airport.
If you could start replacing the mattress it would make a difference.
Nothing minor cosmetic changes will make the place come up a million dollars.
Hope this helps
