While 78 yuan isn't expensive, you'd get a much better 'farm-to-table' experience eating out with a few people. Also, there were no complimentary welcome fruits or milk. Staying at the Fa Dai Hotel, just off the bustling West Street, offered me a tranquil escape. The terrace directly faced the stunning ink-wash mountains, with the river flowing gently below. The hotel also offers a travel photography service which turned out wonderfully. The photographer was very patient with guidance, and the makeup artist's service was thoughtful. Ordering takeout is very convenient, as staff will deliver it directly to your room. The breakfast and afternoon tea offer a wide variety, and the nightly turndown desserts are delicious and change daily. On the last day, they kindly allowed a late check-out until 2 PM and even provided a thoughtful farewell gift. This has truly been the most comfortable and pleasant guesthouse I've ever stayed in.
