The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the view was stunning! We love the breakfast which was included in the room rate for the wide selection and great taste. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. There is a bistro which serves a more affordable dinner after 5p.m, the staff of the restaurants and bistro were friendly too. There is a free sauna for the customer but unfortunately we had no time to try it. The hiking trail was clearly marked and there was a map available at the reception. There was a guide available after 7pm for the customer to ask questions about aurora sighting. We joined the aurora sky station tour as well! It was a unique and unforgettable experience even though we couldn't see the aurora as it was cloudy, kudos to Jasper the guide as he tried his best to give us the best experience :)

Great experience and would go back to Abisko in a heartbeat! Stayed in shared apartment with a sauna which was perfect! Fabulous views of the lake and beautiful views from the sauna. Great daytime hiking and saw the northern lights 2 of the 3 nights. The second night we could see the lights from the guest house early in the evening. Close to the train station and local supermarket which has an eclectic mix of options. Did a few tours one with guest house which was fabulous. Facilities clean and tidy. Gear to hire which was perfect for night time adventures! Check in/out use of facilities and baggage storage was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Perfect choice of stay for a mid range business trip. Ask for a room with windows as the default is a windowless room. Not that it matters much in the extra long winter nights. In fact you can sleep far better in one during the extra long summer day (no dark). Fantastic breakfast buffet, in both senses of location setting and contents.

We stayed in the Nordic 'Suite' in July 2024. Since happiness is a function of a gap between expectation and reality, the objective of this review is to temper expectations for anyone that might be considering booking this hotel. The purpose of visiting Jukkasjarvi/Kiruna was to experience the midnight sun and visit Abisko National Park, a 1 hour drive from the hotel. It is difficult to think of a equivalent hotel experience I have had in the past - maybe a really old Red Roof Inn or Super8. However, those hotels/motels have better infrastructure and customer service than what we experienced at Icehotel. The 'suite' has a dingy, poorly lit feel, and feels depressing even in the setting of 24 hours of sunlight. There is no assistance with luggage, so be prepared to carry your luggage if you do not have a car. Parking is available, but the lot is often full. There is a huge discrepancy between what we saw on the website and what the room actually looked like, so kudos to the photographer for reeling us in. I have attached many pictures, but would like to highlight the bathroom. Right next to the toilet is a shower curtain that encloses a 2x2 'shower'. If you are lucky like us, the walls will have mold. If you are brave enough to take a shower, water will spread all over the bathroom floor - but do not despair - they provide a long squeegee that you can use to sweep all the water towards the drain. We came back to the room the first evening, and no housekeeping was performed, despite reminding the front desk that we require services before we left in the morning. On asking, we were told they had left for the day, and that we could try again the next day. We looked through their website and emailed a bunch of people about the issue, and received an email late in the evening offering to switch rooms. Since we were already unpacked, and no assistance with luggage is provided, we declined the offer, and asked for a partial refund instead. They stated that since they had offered a resolution, they will not offer refunds. On querying why a room with mold was released to a customer, there was no response. We did receive housekeeping services the next day, but no attempt was made to clean the mold. Overall the room was poorly designed with no outlets/USB ports at the bedside. There is no air conditioning, so it gets uncomfortably warm indoors at night with lack of ventilation. We did visit the icehotel 365, and the rooms there had spectacular ice carvings. We were glad that we did not pay to stay in one of those ice rooms, since after 15 minutes at negative five degrees, we were ready to get out of there. Overall, I would recommend giving this hotel a miss - for what they offer, you can get something elsewhere at a much lower rate. If you objective is to spend most of the day outdoors, this hotel is for you, since you will never want to come back to the room. Plus, customer service is non-existent if that is important to you.

Arrived at about 14:00 and was asked to pay 200 sek for early check in. The room had two small beds instead one queen size bed. The was not properly cleaned, there was some food remains on the floor. At check in I asked for housekeeping everyday which the hotel ignored the next day. I would avoid this hotel, there better options in the Center of Luleå.

Berlin Truly the best glass igloo experience! My partner and I spent 3 nights here, during New Year’s Eve, and we had an incredible time! The igloo is very warm (despite -22 outside) with heating, has a stove with essential utensils and even has a toilet. If you didn’t want to use the toilet, you can use the lounge toilets which are clean and have a shower. The igloo also has speakers with a great bass- perfect for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The highlight was nature’s fireworks on New Year’s Eve… the northern lights. We were very lucky because we know it’s not a guarantee. So if you’re lucky enough you might get to see them too! Tony made sure we were okay through out our stay, heating up the sauna and picking us up/ dropping us off at our next destination. Thank you so much for the BEST stay Aurora RiverCamp.

I set out today for the Elite Lulea Hotel, hoping for a warmer welcome - nothing much, perhaps just a member of staff making eye contact with me, or even trying to smile. No luck. I made my way to my room. I was trying not to alarm anyone, so I walked in the local style, very, very slowly, eyes down, like someone on his way to be executed. 😞 My room was rather cold, but there was a fireplace ! A huge one ! No fire. Nothing... Except for four candles. Big candles, though. I lit them. The radiators were off, so I went to call for help. It took me some time to find the telephone. It was on a window sill, behind a curtain. I pushed a number of keys, and eventually hit the right one ” Could I speak to a manager ? ” I asked ”'He's not here ” ” Could I speak to an assistant manager, then ” ” There isn't one ” ” There's no manager at all ?! ” ” No, there's only me ” (This is a hotel that has 159 rooms...) ” Thank you ” I said ” No problem ” Later a Swede expains to me that the hotel cannot switch its radiators on. Apparently this has to be done by someone employed by the local council, who works in another part of the town, and who gets to turn on all the radiators in the town at the same time. Although, of course, it takes a season or two for them to warm up... UPDATE: It's a four star hotel but offers no food at lunchtime Radiators still cold, but all candles still alight A very nice Swede told me he has a friend on the council, and he is going to ask him to turn the radiators on Here is the the star system for hotels in Northern Sweden One star: The building was demolished last week Two star: The roof is OK now Three star: Staff training has been delayed Four star: Most of the bedrooms have beds Five star: F.....g awful Recommended : Stockholm

Very friendly staff. I passed through Lulea the day before my booking and they were happy to look after my luggage for a few hours and even offered me a free orange juice as I was looking a little hot and bothered. The facilities were very good., The hotel contains a small gym and a sauna. Breakfast is of good quality. Working wi-fi.
