Great value for the price that we paid. We have all that we want in any accommodation- heated in winter, clean good bed, towels, toilet roll supplied, floor mat to keep bathrooms dry, 24hr hot water supply to make simple Nescafé/ tea. Just out of Aswan Train Station @1:30am, walked in for the night. Ended up we stay for 3 more nights! Front desk helped to arrange Abu Simbel trip we paid $US20 pp, in a 14 seater mini AC van promised 8filled. All good. Btw simple breakfast, 3 buns w cream cheese jam, an egg, box juice was included in price.

It is very clean and exotic in an ethical tribe. It was a great location, and the hostess was a very nice person.

This hotel is a destination on itself for several reasons. 1- It has the best ”accessible” view of the Isis temple. Warning: the very best view is just a quick hike to the top of the boulder pile on the east flank of the hotel; but don't do it- I got in trouble with 2 soldiers for trying to take pics from there- in Egypt the temples are protected by soldiers that don't want people taking pics from high angles. 2- You are spending the night in an authentic Nubian village. We loved our rooms! 3- The food is authentic, and in our opinion, the best Egyptian food that we had in our trip. 4- You get there in a boat! Add to that the top customer service and the friendliness of the hosts. Among the things they did for us: 1- The manager organized our trip to Abu Simbel with a funny and empathetic driver that never ever asked us for a tip (he got one of course but the point is that he wasn't pushy, which adds to the experience). The price for transportation was fair. 2- The manager let us watch the World Cup games in the TV that they have for the staff room- no TV in our rooms. Interacting with the staff adds to the trip experience. 3- We got our breakfast packed so we could take it during our drive to Abu Simbel. We didn't ask for it. We were a group of 5. All of us loved this place and if we ever go back to Aswan, we know where to stay. We would have loved to make more use of other facilities, or at least spend some significant time by the bonfire. Pros The hotel facilities were absolutely beautiful with an amazing view. Traditional Nubian style house. Every corner makes you want to capture the space. We had a rocky start but the hotel staff tried to redeem themselves. We lost an apple watch which the hotel helped us get back ASAP before we reached Luxor. We are grateful for this. Cons Awful communication and hospitality. We were the only guests in the entire resort because of low season but still received shitty service. The hotel is in a secluded place making it difficult to reach.It’s on top of a mountain on a dusty rocky road. The hotel offers a tuktuk. We did our research prior and contacted the hotel to arrange getting to the hotel from the village and check in since we knew we’d land in the AMs. We were ignored. We arrived at the village meeting point at 1:45 but only ended up getting to our rooms around 3:50am because reaching the hotel via call and WhatsApp was so difficult. The staff had no sense of urgency. We were frustrated and anxious in this wellness resort. Our taxi driver refused to take us up the mountain and the tuktuk refused to take us because of our many bags (which is understandable). I’m very disappointed in the service and I know the staff has lots of potential to improve on their service delivery. The hotel needs to be more cognisant of their customer service and guests hospitality. Staying here was stressful. Recommended if you want aesthetic vibes,a beautiful picturesque hotel with good breakfast. Don’t recommend if you prioritise great guest services, comfortability and peace.

We stayed at Villa Misk in Aswan for just one night, but were thrilled that we did. After a bit of confusion on our arrival (******* hadn't communicated our booking to the owner), we were put up in the nicest Nile view room. For a budget hotel, it was very well equipped, with tv, a balcony, some of the most comfortable beds and pillows that we had in Egypt, and a fridge. It was also spotlessly clean. But the best part was spending time chatting with the owner over breakfast the next morning. He was warm, welcoming, informative, and a delight to spend time with. Highly recommended.
