Hotel berhampiran Müggelsee Lake, Berlin

Boy Oh Boy! This was truly a treat. I wanted a hotel that was close to the airport, that didn’t cost a lot of money, safe and easy to commute to and from the airport. LogInn is 13min from the airport. For Uber it’s less than $17USD. On the train it’s 11min away. The train station is right across the street to the hotel. If you want to get to the Eastside of Berlin like the graffiti walls….. take the S9 train. There’s also a mall called Eastside Gallery. If you’re allergic to teenagers this ain’t the mall for you. Lol. This hotel looks fairly new. It’s very clean and the staff are great!! I liked the fact that you can’t hear the trains passing by. This hotel is located in a quit area too. There’s no bathtub but a standup shower. There’s no microwave or refrigerator. So if your have meds that needs to be refrigerated this may not be the place for you. The mattress is soft as are the pillows which I love. You get a complementary bottle of water. I stayed on room 509 Would I recommend this hotel to friends? Most definitely!!!!! I love this hotel because it’s exactly what I needed.

We were left a little confused about this hotel. My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights visiting family close by hence the reason we had to stay in this area. We had mixed feelings about the hotel but I would stay again. It appears this hotel belongs to a chain of hotels. I suspect that the write up of this hotel on booking sites is generic to cover all of their hotels. The internet shows it has a restaurant and considering the guests can come from anywhere, the word restaurant means different things to different people. In this case it meant the breakfast room and not somewhere you could have lunch and dinner. However the Italian restaurant next door Il Nouvo is amazing. I had emailed on two occasions previously to ask whether or not they supply any type of transfer from the airport as it is quite expensive. I never received a response. That was disappointing. I don't necessarily know if the request goes to his hotel or to the head office but it is poor poor service. We booked directly through the hotel, and it was reasonably priced for the area and included breakfast. On arrival we were treated great and service was great. There is a nice seating area in the foyer and at reception there is water with lemons for guests as well as a fruit bowl full of fruit. I note that staffing changed regularly at the desk within the time we were there so service wasn't always consistent. I'm not sure if there is an employment issue as we were told that some staff weren't familiar with the hotel as they were from another site. At one point I went to get a water, this may be trivial for some, but it hadn't been filled for a day. There were just lemons sitting on the bottom. I did ask reception if I could get some water. She filled it but it was the same lemons that had been there for 3 days. I note the next day it was refreshed. The bar which has drinks available was another mixed feeling. The reception staff operated the bar, it was situated behind them. I don't think it's their fault but they didn't know some of the drinks that were on the menu nor did they know how to make some of the drinks. One find young man was going to make an Aperol Spritz, with orange juice, as this is what the recipe said. We stopped him from doing that. There was a great little sparking drink they ran out of which was never replenished. Some of the drinks on their list, they didn't have. When a wanted a small sparkling wine, first time I was charged for the bottle and provided with the glass and the small bottle. Second time round served by a different staff member he poured me a drink and charged me the bottle price but kept half of it. Again, I don't think it's their fault, it's some sort of lack of training. This doesn't take away from their kindness and their effort. This goes down in my book as one of the worst hotel stays. Let’s start with the positive: very accommodating staff, clean common spaces, nice conference area and decent Italian restaurant onsite. Now the negatives: The area is depressing, looks unsafe and derelict. I’m not convinced the surrounding buildings weren’t abandoned- I wouldn’t go out walking here. The beds were horribly uncomfortable- stiff like a cement block, with thin, musty pillows to accompany them. The duvets appeared clean, which is good because I used them as pillows since there is no functioning air conditioning and covers were not needed. I wasn’t able to sleep due to the uncomfortable bed, hot and stuffy room, and noise from surrounding rooms. No coffee maker or water kettle provided - I requested these and they do not have any in the hotel. No coffee provided with room service either- you must walk through the open atrium area into the restaurant and interact with people just to get a cup of coffee. Come on- who does that?? If you arrive late or wish to dine past 9 PM you’re out of luck since the restaurants close early and there is nothing nearby. General description of the room: Outdated, musty, with ancient furniture and disgusting brown carpet from the 90’s. The bathroom is small, towels are small and thin, and they only provide one giant squeeze tube of shampoo/soap (all-in-one) which is only 1/4 way full. Climate control and air circulation lacks throughout the entire facility, including rooms and common areas. Don’t let the pictures online deceive you- they were nothing at all like what I experienced.

I recently visited this hotel with my boyfriend and I was very impressed. We arrived a little before check-in and we were allowed to go to our room. the room was very spacious with an extremely comfy bed and amazing shower. Also on the last day our flight was not for a while and were were allowed to wait in the lobby after checkout which had lovely sofas and seating areas. It was quiet and there were people working in there. The staff were very lobely and was great for the price.

I'm really surprised by the low reviews as this wasn't our experience at all. Yes it's a budget hotel, so I wouldn't expect a 5* star experience BUT our room was modern, clean, spacious and comfortable (the pillows could be a little plumper). The bed was two twins pushed together but this is common in Germany and the nordic regions, so not unexpected plus we both love having our own duvet and, after travelling, we now have this at home too. It was great to have a free bottle of water in the room and we also bought soft drinks from reception when we arrived. We were on the top floor (14th) and we had no issues with the lift. Staff were friendly on arrival and we even managed to access our room one hour early with no additional fees. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were there to enjoy Berlin, we got up early to have breakfast in central Berlin and had dinner before returning to the hotel. Public transport in Berlin is amazing and there are numerous tram stops near the hotel. We used the M6 most often (5 min walk from the stop to hotel) to Alexanderplatz and beyond but also used another nearby stop to use other transport connections to move around the city. It did take quite some time to get to and from the airport as you do need to make connections but everything was easy to do and we never experienced any late running services. Would we stay here again, maybe...we would not hesitate to stay in the hotel again but only if we didn't have early morning flights (which we did)! This meant that when we arrived, we had to carry our heavy bags around the city centre to make the most of our 3 nights (the hotel was too far away to go there to drop bags and then come back). We were so tired, that we chanced heading to the hotel early to see if early check-in was possible and they were very helpful. On our last day we had to get up at 4am as we were on an early flight home and it took more than 90 mins to go from hotel to airport, we would loved to have stayed somewhere near a station with direct airport links to get that extra 60 mins in bed. So if you don't have early morning flights, then definitely go for it and get a Welcome to Berlin card as that covers all of your travel including from the airport to hotel. Berlin is a brilliant city and we loved it!

Hotel and staff were excellent. Ideal location for us. Plenty of public transport a very short walk away. Rooms in hotel were great, plenty of space, fridge, kettle and tea/coffee facilities provided. And a safe if required. Rooms were also very clean. No noise at all either. Brilliant for a city hotel. I do love this hotel and will be back at the first opportunity.

What a really chilled experience I had at this hotel! Highly recommend. I called a couple of days before my arrival and asked for a quiet room, away from street noise/reception. The room I was allocated by Coco was prefect!! I could not have asked for anything better, it was clean, cosy and most importantly - Quiet! The hotel emailed me a free breakfast voucher and I was given free drinks vouchers at the bar every time I informed housekeeping that I didnt need fresh towels - a brilliant idea for grabbing a coffee or a glass of wine for free while sitting looking out of the huge hotel windows!! I had three nights booked but ended up booking an extra three nights because I was so chilled and didnt want to go anywhere else in Berlin - too many hotels are hit and miss! Gordon, the manager was superb and all the staff were really happy to help with anything. Huge thanks to everyone !! I'll be back. Take care. William

Empfang Sehe Nett wie immer,Zimmer okay sauber etwas abgewohnt” Leider Keine richtigen Verdunkelungsgardinen..old school” Frühstücksbuffet nur bis 9.30 Uhr würde gekürzt. -Nicht Gut- die Jahre zuvor wars immer bis 10.00 Uhr. Wochentags. Da herrscht seitens der Hotelleitung dringend Handlungsbedarf. Korrigiert es bitte..wieder” Umfang des Frühstücks Buffet auch gekürzt. Ja es gab Rühreier.. Unfreundlicher älterer Typ Brille graumeliertes Haar dünner Vollbart am Fr- Buffet. Wünschte keinen Guten Morgen schaute nur auf seine Uhr nach dem Motto so Spät.jetzt noch” Es War noch eine Halbe Std Zeit. Als wir es gewagt hatten 9.35 noch da Zu sein würde uns und anderen Gästen sehr Rüde das Kommando gegeben Gehen Sie Jetzt” Kein Bitte.. Unhöflich Unpassend. Um 9.15 war kein Rührei mehr da Wurde nicht mehr aufgefüllt. Schade es war früher besser

Stayed here while visiting our daughter, it is literally a couple of steps from a U Bahn station so could not be more convenient. The staff were very helpful and professional, with a 24 hour reception. You have a code to enter your room which is great so no keys or cards to lose! Our room was spotless and there were nice quality sheets on the bed. The room was very warm which was great as it was -6 C outside but we were also able to open the window for fresh air which we loved as a lot of hotels do not allow this.We didn't eat breakfast so cannot comment on this but there are snacks and drinks available to buy in the reception if you need them. Will definitely stay again when we visit.

Location is a little far out depending on what sights you wish to see. However, the city has amazing initiatives such as bikes, scooters and mopeds which you can rent for a low price to get around the city. Easy to make an account and start travelling around on either, often they are nearby the hotel. Obviously they have great transportation links like bus, tram and train too. The Warschnauzer StraB is the closest train station to the hotel which is around a 15 minute walk so super convenient, although we found the train maps a little tricky to understand so heavily relied on Google Maps to tell us which trains to use. The service and cleanliness of the hotel is great, we had no issues what so ever. Overall, the towels, bedding, bathroom and bedroom was spotless. Nothing to complain or comment on negatively. We didn’t use room service, the continental breakfast additional option or bar downstairs so unable to comment on those. But staff are very friendly and helpful. Amenities are fab, the fitness centre has a gym which is larger than most hotel gyms, super handy with plenty of variety of machines. Like a downside commercial gym with generic machines. Handy free shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps and shower gel in large containers. Again, this is the only amenities we used so unable to comment on other things. Overall lovely very quirky hotel with lots of charm. Would certainly recommend to others as we are very happy with our stay and would be happy to stay at other Nhows.
