Stopped here in a King Suite with my husband for 2 nights, visiting family and was seriously impressed. The room was bigger than most of the flats I've ever owned! Everywhwere was kept clean and we really liked the fact that there were sofas on each floor if you wanted to relax/have a drink/wait for lift. LOL, Not that we're lazy. Every member of staff we came into contact with were helpful, friendly and courteous. Don't expect a full English or American breakfast though, it's traditional fare. Everything we had was fresh and flavoursome - cold meats, salads, cheeses, etc. 10 minute walk to the metro and retail park. A fraction of the price of hotels in Bucharest and only 20 minutes on the metro into the city centre. Only 10 days to go before our next visit and cannot wait to get into the outdoor pool and top up our tans!

Marriott upper-scale properties, such as their Autograph Collection &/or Tribute Portfolio brands, continue to miss the mark. Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. We truly enjoyed every aspect of the Epoque Hotel in Bucharest. We contacted the hotel before arrival and scheduled an airport pick-up at a very reasonable price. All staff were so friendly and welcoming at check-in. They were always helpful with directions, recommendations, and helpful information. We loved our spacious room. Everything was well-appointed, comfortable, and steeped with old-world charm. The weather in Bucharest was wonderful the week we stayed at the Epoque, and so the small balcony was enjoyed and appreciated. We also loved the neighborhood. The lovely Gradina Cismigui Park was only a block away, and we spent hours walking in the popular park. A few great restaurants are right around the corner from the Epoque (Trattoria Buoni Amici, Burgeria Stirbei, Tulin Lebanese). Old Town Bucharest is also just a short 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel. We also took advantage of the on-site restaurant for breakfast most mornings. The breakfast staff were so attentive, and before long, they knew our preferences without even asking. We also dined at the L'Atelier Restaurant one evening when we were too tired to go out! The food was all very delicious. We would definitely return to the lovely Epoque Hotel if we ever have the opportunity to visit Bucharest, Romania again.

The breakfast was included and was good enough and well stocked. The attached health club has a separate charge of 7 Euros per day- which can add up. There is not a lot within walking distance of the hotel..aside from Hard Rock Cafe and a few other replaces. So plan on using Uber to go most places. Rooms and service were good. Gift shop seems to have sporadic hours and not the ones listed.

Best experience all the time I travel to Bucharest. Wouldn't choose any other hotel. Special thanks to Raluca Dicu for managing all the time everything at the best quality possible. Feeling already like home. Very nice and friendly staff, everything excellent

Leider konnte das Hotel bei der Qualität der Zimmerausstattung nicht beim Zimmerpreis mithalten. Dies gilt auch und insbesondere für die Sauberkeit, da an der Dusche bereits schwarzer Schimmel zu erkennen war. Weiter werden Nachhaltigkeitskriterien nicht umgesetzt. Es wird noch immer Plastikeinwegflaschen für Pflegeprodukte verwendet. Auch sonst wirkt es sehr einfach und wenig durchdacht. Die Allgemeinflächen sind ordentlich, sauber und sehr schön. Das angeschlossene günstigere Hotel bietet annähernd die gleiche Qualität (außer Spa/Schwimmbad) und ist deutlich günstiger.
