Beautifully and tastefully restored, this hotel is very beautiful and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, 3 pools never overcrowded, a nice gym and a yoga deck and a tennis court. Luscious gardens, good food and convenient location close to many beautiful towns and Vineyards.

I celebrated my birthday with a large group of friends (60) in June 2024 and everything came out perfect . Alessia, the hotel event planner did a FANTASTIC job by facilitating every request and making sure that everything was perfect . The hotel’s rooms are extremely comfortable , spacious and charming . The food excellent The spa massages were above expectation Alessia organized bike riding / truffle hunting/ wine tasting/ Pilates activities which all came out super fun The bike ride was just magnificent And the hotel is just 20 mn from Sienna I can only highly recommend the hotel , for couples, families and larger groups as well

Beautiful setting, but rooms are dark. All facilities are needing upkeep. Pátio restaurant staff are grumpy, and the menu has very little options. The pool, gym and spa areas seem newer and are good. My son stayed in room 11 blue, and the roof of the corridor between the bedroom and the bathroom is so low he had to duck every time he went to the bathroom. Found bedbugs in my bed! Management was not very helpful, and were more worried on insisting the bed bugs didn’t come from the hotel than actually helping. Staff were helpful, but I would not recommend staying there.

Castel Monastero is undoubtedly one of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The bedrooms are stunning. They manage to mix quintessential Tuscan living with modern luxury. I really appreciated the care that the cleaners took to ensure that my room was spotless each day, as well as the turn-down service they offered in the evening. The hotel has 3 pools, including 1 indoor pool, as well as ample sun loungers. The pool bar staff are extremely attentive, and the food served here is exceptional. Beyond the pool, there are plenty of facilities at the hotel to enjoy, including a tennis court (with a stunning view of the surrounding Tuscan countryside), and a fully-equipped gym. There are 2 restaurants on site - Contrada and La Cantina, both of which are excellent. We dined in the Cantina almost every night of our stay, as their homemade pasta was just too good to miss! Indeed, all the food at the hotel, from breakfast through to dinner, is of the highest quality. The staff at La Cantina were incredibly hospitable and they really made every dinner special. In fact, every member of staff at the hotel is extremely polite and welcoming, they go above and beyond to ensure you have a restful stay. We will deeply miss Castel Monastero, it is an exceptional hotel and I can only hope everyone gets to experience this place for themselves. Thank you.

We came for the Palio on an organised trip and had a fantastic time. Even when the race got postponed one day the hotel leapt into action and made sure we could stay for the rescheduled race. Fantastic hotel and Sienna around Palio time is brilliant

Hotel cancelled my booking with 3 weeks notice due to a wedding. Despite us booking the venue in July 2023 for a wedding we need to attend in the area. Absolutely shocking and have had to find an alternative that is 40mins away from the venue. Extremely poor management and no offer of compensation other that we will find you a different hotel. I can’t comment on how the venue is as I’ve never had the chance to stay there but sharing so others can avoid disappointment and stress with very little notice

The scenery at Castel Monastero is just breathtaking. The place has this romantic, picturesque vibe with beautiful gardens and an amazing 3 pools that make it feel like a dreamy escape. But, despite all that charm, it's not quite a 5-star experience. Here are some things that took away from the magic: No In-Room Irons: They don’t provide irons in the rooms and charge a steep 20 EUR if you need something ironed. For a place this fancy, it feels like an unnecessary hassle and there is also a long delay to receive your items back. Room Key Troubles: The room keys are tricky to use, often meaning a 5-minute trek to reception and back with a staff member just to get into your room. This happened every night, which was really annoying. Gluten-Free Options: If you need gluten-free food, you might struggle here. They seemed unprepared to cater to serious dietary restrictions, which is a big letdown for a high-end hotel. Rude Staff: Some of the staff were rude. At one point, three of them laughed in my face at the restaurant when I made a simple request. It was a bit odd and very unprofessional. Unfriendly and Few Staff: The staff weren't very friendly overall, and there didn’t seem to be enough of them around. This lack of warmth and service was noticeable and disappointing. Cold Rooms: The room was freezing and the staff couldn’t adjust the temperature. It made the stay quite uncomfortable. In a nutshell, Castel Monastero is gorgeous and has a lot of potential, but the service and amenities need some serious improvement to match the stunning setting. With some changes, it could be the luxury escape it aims to be.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The location is far from most restaurants . The cab fare of $100 was excessive to get anywhere. The fine dining experience was great until the food came. It was some of the worst food I have ever had . The other restaurant was great . Over all it was a great experience.
