Maidens Hotel New Delhi

These guys are awesome. The building looks great, too. We were only staying two nights before our flight home, so picked a standard room... which was okay. The welcome upon arrival was fantastic. You are politely asked to sit in a comfortable seat in the reception area whilst a succession of perfectly ***nered staff take care of the paperwork, mostly on electronic tablets, and bring you welcome drinks. First impressions mean a lot. After that, it just got better. Both Lunch and Dinner in their Garden Terrace restaurant were very enjoyable, the food good, with generous helpings. Unfortunately, I was carrying a lingering tummy bug with me from earlier in our trip and this returned (nothing to do with the Maidens hotel) and so I was not able to partake in their fantastic looking breakfast selection the following morning. A wonderful staff member called Devesh picked up on this, and took time to establish that I might be able to eat a specially prepared small bowl of porridge... made with water (bottled) instead of milk. Later, he returned to ask how I felt, and suggested that maybe a bigger bowl of the same might be welcome. I agreed, and am very grateful for his concern... and for his suggestion, which worked a treat, and set me up for the day ahead. The grounds of the hotel provide a perfect haven from the road outside the gates. Peacocks wander around, and there is a fantastic Banyan tree that is older than the hotel itself, well over a hundred years old. The swimming pool looked very inviting. Our room was very peaceful. In fact the hotel as a whole was. It was maybe only our bathroom which was slightly below par. A minor quibble. And I notice that Indian hotel bathrooms in general do seem to have a tendency to provide bathroom basin surrounds that become awash with surface water. We had a very early morning check out, and our airport shuttle was waiting on time, as was our breakfast to go - ordered the night before - in a sturdily impressive carry box. During our stay we made several attempts to tip the wonderful staff, but were courteously refused. We eventually found out that the hotel have a no tip policy, and that guests are encouraged to leave a gratuity in a sealed envelope at reception upon checking out. This is then shared equally between all staff members. We were very happy to follow this procedure. I have stayed in over a hundred hotels worldwide in the past fifteen years, and the staff here are the best, happiest, most motivated, and most sincere I have ever encountered. The Maidens hotel and its ***agement deserve full credit for this.

This is our second visit to the Hotel Ajanta. The first was was when we first arrived in Delhi a month ago and we enjoyed our stay with the exception of the the noise outside our room which I understand is not the fault of the hotel. 1st photo was taken at 11pm and the 2nd at 6:30am. The food is excellent and good value for money and the breakfast included in the room rate is a very good buffet. The rooms are clean and there is as much hot water in the en suite as you could need. However, when I checked out I reserved a room for our return to Delhi the night before our flight. I requested a different room, a luxury family room and was assured it would be ready for us on our return. When we returned to Hotel Ajanta 24 days later we checked in and after enquiring if the room I asked for was free I was told it was so we gave our passports and paid for the room, then given a key and after having a late breakfast we’re taken to our room. The same room we had before that I didn’t want. I went back downstairs to see the ***ager but couldn’t find him. When I challenged a member of staff I was told there were no other family rooms available. After chatting with my family we decided not to make a fuss- but now it is 10pm, we have a long journey tomorrow to the UK and then a 5 hour drive to get home. The noise outside sounds like a scrap yard, hammering on metal and metal being cut with a grinder, the noise and traffic is terrible. It’s now gone 10:30pm and still going on. Don’t get me wrong- the hotel is ok and the food is excellent but I am more than a little disappointed the request I put in nearly a month ago was not fulfilled and when I raised my concerns no alternative was offered. Had was given the room I asked for I would now be asleep and not still be awake and writing a less than positive review. You’ll see from my other reviews I’m not hard to please and don’t complain unnecessarily. Al Pachino(AKA) requested I leave a review but I rather suspect now it would be preferable I hadn’t. I’m also sure the response will be ***** the lines of a misunderstanding but you can be assured I made myself perfectly clear on more than one occasion. The scrap yard opposite the hotel stopped making a noise soon after midnight and I then got to sleep. I now have a 24 hour journey ahead of me with a 6 hour drive at the end of it after a crap night sleep having just had a not very sleeper train journey of 18 hours. This all would have been avoided had my request been heard.

Hi traveler I am a lodge and guest house owner in Jammu and Kashmir . I am writing this review on true event at this hotel . I had booked this hotel at the price of 2500 per night . I was traveling long and was feeling deadly sleepy , requested comp early check in same denied rudely even thought check in guy was aware of my red eyes and weak body language later he charged me 1500 for early check in .. no worry I paid and checked in room what I had found pathetic smell in room , A/C was not cooling the room in hot summer of delhi . I called and requested for room change same was denied and took three hours to rectify. No worry , I ordered for aloo parantha for which they charged me five hundred something , I have never seen a aloo parantha without aloo A thin layer and nothing stuffed. No worry I ordered zomato went physically downstairs , To take my Order a guard at the hotel mainporch stopped brutally that outside food is not allowed . Having all that my tempered went out of control but still no worry I am not a complaining person. At last my visitors came to meet me and we spended three hours of meeting session again for the vistors they charged me 1500 , ohh this time called ***ager and told them the whole scenario but I was surprised he dint even apologised .At the same time I moved to park in by radission and felt great again this is what brand is brand .Guys you can check my tripadvisor others review I never wrote a single negative feedback but this was one of my ridiculous experience at this hotel I have stayed in Marriott , radission , taj, ITC ect but this hotel is truely a black mark on hospitality industry . In total - Staff behaviour - poor (specially front office ) Food and beverage- awfulll no hygiene maintained

We had a great stay at the Zostel. From the moment of arrival, staff were kind and welcoming. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Ours was quite spacious. It’s in a great location near the New Delhi railway station, which is easily accessible to the airport and most attractions by metro. Heads up: all power goes out in the room when you leave for the day, including the fridge in your room! We didn’t know and lost some food. 😕 Charge everything overnight and just plan to eat out. Overall a good stay. We would return.

One of the best budget properties that I have stayed in . Firstly the hotel has a dream location, with such close proximity to major markets, tourist destinations , railway station and the airport. It is surrounded by a plethora of amazing eating joints, most of them being walking distance. The hotel has the most courteous staff who are just a call away and a very friendly and cooperative owner. The rooms are extremely and bathrooms clean and spacious. The bed and the pillows are 5 star standards. Running hot water was always available and the internet speed was brilliant. It is 3 side open property making it very well ventilated giving a very positive vibe. All in all had a brilliant stay and my only go to place when I am in Delhi. Highly recommended!

The room was neat and clean. Also the staffs were very friendly ,the ***ager is having a cute smile in his face always which makes good attitude towards visitor. The hotel was also in main road nearest to the station having medical facility shopping street food etc. I went with my family for travelling it was really nice experience staying there.

Excellent location, close to markets, restaurants, main train and metro station. Metro line to airport is also very close. Room was comfortable but cleanliness could be improved. Wi-fi and A/C were very good. The area is very busy at any time of day and night, but the room remained quiet and we could always have a great sleep. Last but not least, very friendly staff!
